FIRST OPEN HOME OF 2025

I stood on the scales this morning, fully expecting a HUGE gain, bearing in mind I've been eating vast quantities of custard, yoghurt, mousses, puree'd fruit and the like.

All high in sugar/calories.

Add to that, taking pain killers has completely STOPPED any 'output' in the bathroom, except piddles!  I've not done a damn thing in 6 days now!!!   I started taking laxatives yesterday, to no avail, yet.

So, I really was expecting a gain on the scales.

BUT NO!  I've lost a kilo this past week!  That does not make any sense to me at all, but OK, I'll take it.

I am really looking forward to my 'diet' and exercise getting back to normal soon, that's for sure.

Now, wanna see the Square Table Topper I came up with late yesterday?  Of course ya do!...

ABOVE:  It looks way nicer in 'person'... it's vibrant and very 'Kiwiana-ish'.  Someone will love it I'm sure.

Now, getting back to today, as I've mentioned before, we have our first Open Home of 2025.
It isn't until early afternoon, so we have plenty of time to prepare the house for it.  NOT that there is much to do!  Because we had a Private Viewing on Friday, the house is pretty much ready to go.
We just have to make the bed, do some dishes and so on.

11.15 am:  And it's been very quiet on here cos we ain't go anything to do!  We did the necessary stuff, and now we are literally killing time till the Open Home.

Stew's watching a shoot 'em up movie on Netflix and I've been lying on the couch!

Just had a shower of rain, and it looks like we will get more.  It has certainly cooled the temperatures down considerably.  If the sun comes out, we will be living in a sauna.  😕

After the Open Home we have Steve, Bex and kids coming over for a visit.  They will probably stay for dinner.  I think some sort of takeaway is on the cards.

ABOVE:  Lacy just adopted a kitten.  Ash is her name.  I'm not a cat person, but Ash is rather cute I must admit.

1.19 pm.    Wow!!!!   Heaps of people at our Open Home!!!!!! More than ever before in fact.

ABOVE:   1.55 pm.  Open Home is over.  Ten car loads full of people through today!   One was a lady returning with what looked like her entire family.
Quite a few lovely compliments on our presentation, some even thought the house had been staged.

The agent is so happy with how well our home is presented.  As she said, some places are not presented well at all.

I am totally chuffed with how well it went today, after thinking NO ONE would come, considering the time of year.

NOW... I'm tired.  Maybe not physically, but certainly mentally.  Might lie on the couch again.  It's a lovely couch to lie on I might add.

6.32 pm:  We have had a really lovely visit from Steve, Bex and the kids.
And we all enjoyed Chinese takeaways.

ABOVE:  The boys enjoyed hanging out in a spare bedroom...

ABOVE:  While Lily enjoyed crawling all over the house, getting into EVERYTHING.  She took a liking to my sneakers, and even cuddled them and patted them 'on the back'... just so cute.
She's just so delightful, keeping everyone entertained.

Now, they have left as Lily was getting tired and needed her bath and bed.

It's been a very good day I must say.  Time to put me feet up and just relax.
Catch ya tomorrow.

I've managed to take the 3 days off in between Easter and Anzac Day which equates to nearly 2 weeks 😂 yeah I did wonder but the fabrics they have are gorgeous 😍 💙💙

  4. Love the square runners. You have given up salt with your temporary diet, and bad fats like biscuits and ham, so it makes sense you have lost weight

  6. It makes me so cross when patients are given strong painrelief without proper instructions. In future if you have to go on them take the laxatives (like coloxyl) as soon as you start the meds. And take pain killers as soon as you get a niggle. It's much harder to bring pain under control than it is to stop it going out of control in the first place. I hope the plug breaks soon!!

I agree. But I would add more.

I think any time someone is
Given anesthesia and put on pain meds,
need to be on gentle laxative right from the beginning.
      Especially true for women.

    1. There are protocols in place for that sort of situation. I'm not 100% sure how it goes.

The boys don't look very happy in the bedroom. We're they on time out? Lol. Surely not. Kj
