I was looking around my sewing room last night, thinking "What the hell was I thinking"?
I'd packed it ALL UP just a week ago, thinking I'd not be doing any more sewing until after we have moved!!!
Then I saw the scrappy dolls on facebook. *sigh*
Now I'm back making a freakin' mess in the sewing room.
ABOVE: I forgot this photo from yesterday... it shows Keera doing the final stitching on her very own scrappy doll. I just love it.And she loved making it so much. I was impressed on how quickly she mastered the machine too... it's not a simple machine.
ABOVE: My friend Sharon put some of this on me 'wispy bits' of hair yesterday.
ABOVE: it worked pretty well, so now I'm going to go online and get some of my own. Today I'm going to continue making another scrappy doll or two. I have one for market already, so would like to have two more done by Friday.
Not that we are expecting a spectacular market!
ABOVE: The weather forecast is DREADFUL! We have a massive storm system heading our way... it will probably hit us tomorrow. Tropical Cyclone Tam in fact.We have done the Tamahere Market in a tropical Cyclone before btw. It wasn't fun. This storm MIGHT be over it's worst by Saturday... but we are not holding our breath on that.
Right, I'm off to make a start on my day.
ABOVE: 10.30 am: I now have two cute scrappy dolls for market. I'll probably make another one this afternoon. They are such fun to make.
ABOVE: It's getting dark outside. No rain yet, but the clouds are forming and moving across the sky from the North/East. Usually we get bad weather from the West ... not today.
ABOVE: And there ya go, # 3 for market, but the 5th one made in the past two and a half days. I can probably turn out 3 a day easily, but luckily, I really don't need to.
If the market weather this Saturday is wet, wet, wet, we probably won't have many people come, so sales will be right down. I might not even sell a Scrappy Doll. But, we won't know till the day eh?
I'm taking a break now, then a bit later on I'll go back into the sewing room and tidy it up, vacuum the floor and so on.
Well it would seem that the last Scrappy doll I made is already sold. She will be on her way to Wellington tomorrow. Thanks KJ for once again buying something of mine.
Now I get to make another one sooner than I thought. Yaaa.
We still don't have any rain, but certainly thunderous looking clouds, and the wind is getting up too. I love a good storm, just not on a market day!
9.35 pm: Coronation Street is on, so I'm sat watching it. Then I'll be off to bed. Still no rain here... I wonder if it arrives tomorrow?
EEK. Does not sound like good weather for a market.
ReplyDeleteKeera looks like a natural at the sewing machine. You may have a new partner. ;-) Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Keera holding the doll yesterday made me think how groovy they would look on a tee-shirt for small people. Weather here is looking ominous as well am WFH today, couldn't handle the office as Guy lost his job yesterday 😞 ohhhh well there's always someone out there who is worse off than us GM 💙💙

ReplyDeleteI like the Idea of that wax stick. Might see if there's any available here. I have short hair but there's always some bit sticking up and out.

Hopefully the storm is not too bad and passes quickly.
