CAMERAS

I've had this blog on my mind for the past few days.

Trying to decide in what direction I take it now.

Things change.  People change.  Attitudes change.

There will be NO MORE FAMILY involved in the blog unless they specifically want to be.

So that probably means you will see :  Lacy.  Steve, Bex and their family.  Mike and Joyce. And us.

And as for our upcoming move?  I'm not sure how much I will share about our new home.  A little or a lot?  I have not settled on that yet.

The village is deemed PRIVATE PROPERTY, and anyone coming on the property has to have a valid reason, otherwise they can and will be TRESPASSED.

I have decided to get security cameras installed, that way I will have peace of mind.  When working in the garage, I will not be able to see if anyone comes to my front door.  So the cameras will be like eyes in the back of my head.  lol

I might just get the cameras and set them up here, so I know how they work.  That will be another DUCK getting in the row.  😊🦆🦆

Perhaps Lacy can help me with that, she had some at her home.

I would like ones that connect to my phone, and record as well, so I can keep any eye on our property even when we are not home.

There is bound to be countless choices.  I don't like having so much choice!  It is confusing.

So today I might go out and start looking.

BUT FIRST... I am joining the FBG's for a walk around the Hamilton Gardens.  That should be nice.

1.07 pm and I am just in from my walk with the FBG's.

It was a really lovely walk along the riverbank, and around the rose gardens etc here in Hamilton.

ABOVE: The company was lovely and the weather was perfect.  Very overcast and not too hot.
On our way back I could feel my left calf muscle tweaking a bit and then 'PING'  it went.  Very sore, no idea what caused it or how long it's going to be sore.  I had to hobble for the last part of the walk.  And I even had to walk backwards up the last hill!
Most annoying.

It meant I have not gone looking at cameras, as I thought it prudent to come home and rest my stupid leg.  I will let my fingers do the walking for now, and do some research as well.

5.39 pm, and I've rested my leg all afternoon, and it's still bloody sore.  I rubbed Voltarin Emulgel onto my calf as well... no difference.  Clearly it's going to take longer than an afternoon to come right.

ABOVE:  I got asked to 'doctor' one of the walk photos from this morning.  I doubt they will expect THAT.  lol
What fun.

Todays walk was about 6 km, I stuffed up my walking app so didn't get the accurate distance.  I walked 10,829 steps though.

9.45 pm:  Well it's been an awesome day, apart from the calf being a pain.  I hope like hell its a lot better tomorrow.
Watching Coronation Street now... then off to bed I go.

  1. Do that walk. Clear your head. Have fun .
Then research those cameras. It sounds as though you really need coverage . And the latest stuff that you can access from your phone. That might give you peace of mind. Sounds as though you need it

Swann are good, you're not locked into paying for a plan either. An electrician friend strongly suggested hard wired over WIFI ones. Let your fingers do the walking, have a great day and keep your chin up GM 💙💙

A friend that I play cards with weekly has security cameras for her front and back yard areas. If anyone comes near her house a video is sent to her phone. Which works great for her, especially when packages are being delivered. Good luck with it all. Ky Girl

  4. I think all the cameras link to phones. We use Reolink and it's solar so no batteries needed at all. I can see our house from anywhere I have a wifi connection.

Cameras give me peace of mind. I don’t have too much activity around my house, mostly just deliveries, but I do like knowing what’s happening. We have inside cameras at my in-laws so we can see if they’re in need of anything and we can talk to them over those. Just makes life easier. Caroline

  6. We got eufy cameras. So far we have only got 3/4 up and use the 4 as a baby cam when the grand children are visiting. We ended up getting solar panels from Amazon so we didn’t have to pull them down to recharge them we got 4 solar panels from Amazon for the price of one eufy branded one

  7. The walk route is so nice. I wish I had something like that near my home. I hope your calf is better. Do not attempt any walking until you know its healed. My husband had a snap as he called it & it was 2 weeks before he could walk for a long walk.

  8. We have a RING doorbell/security camera and it is excellent. Records all motion within the range we have set ... sends alerts to our phones and we can see live and historical activity on our phones. Records activity to the cloud. We also can talk to visitors through the intercom system which is handy when out - e.g. telling couriers where to leave parcels etc. Very clear footage too.

  11. Good Idea re the security cameras. We have Eufy- a doorbell that records and you can speak to visitors through via phone . It recorded an unwelcome visitor at 2am one night last year, who stole from one of our cars. Gave the footage to the police, we got our stuff back . We’ve now put one over the driveway and out the back near the caravan with motion detector spotlights. It records and you can check the area in realtime. They weren’t particularly expensive and well worth it.

  13. Security cameras are a good idea. We have them, in the hours and outside as well

  14. Are you allowed to have cameras at the new place? They might catch the neighbors milling about.... I hope your leg is better. A Pickleball friend had a PIG and has been out for 2 months. If it's not feeling better - maybe go to see the Doc.

I think its a great idea to have security cameras ; I set up my son back in 2020 at his last apartment, to give him peace of mind (being a double amputee) with the Ring camera and then a year ago with wired cameras with motion detectors too. He could view it on phone as well laptop and they also recorded. Anyways, I understand wanting to keep your new home 'private', though if you feel inclined to give a peek of your home just inside after you move in and get all settled, that would be lovely. I enjoy seeing how your homes have been set up inside and your decor choices, furniture, etc. But I also understand you wanting to keep things private, and probably due to those 'other persons' that have caused you issues in your life. Oh, hope you didn't tear your achilles! That would be rotten timing with upcoming move, etc. You take care of yourself, my friend! Dawn P. Albany, Georgia USA :)
