You know when you buy a big bag of salad and it goes all brown and soggy? COOKIES don't do that.
Just sayin'.
Half way through APRIL... the time is racing by!
We will be in May before we know it. Our moving month.
Stew's favourite number is 8. This new home of ours will be our 8th home. There is another special number associated with this house too... which is a sign it is the right place for us.
Which is good, because for the longest time, I've been totally unhappy about this house! I kept thinking it was TOO SMALL.... but everyone has told me I will adjust.
And I know I will eventually, I just have to keep telling myself it is right for us NOW, at this stage of our life.
Last night Lynda suggested we use drawing pins to hold the Round Table Topper to the Foam Board.
I tried it out:
ABOVE: It worked really well using push pins, thanks for the suggestion Lynda. I probably won't cut the board down, as I can use the bottom bit for pinning coasters on. When I make some to match.
My plans for today involve the freakin usual Monday jobs. Washing. Water plants. General tidy up.
Then I might start my new project. More on that once I have it made.
Another thing I have to do today is ring our Green waste bin supplier, and arrange our LAST EVER PICK UP for next month.
At our new home, all of that is taken care of by the Village Management. No more gardening for us. Though I can put plants in the gardens to my hearts content, we just don't have to do the weeding! How cool is that.
I'm off to the chemist first thing... my calf muscle pinged again last night. I'm going to get a compression thingee to help support my calf.
It is not my achillies tendon playing up, as the pain is right in the middle of my calf muscle. So it's a muscle tear or strain. Rest would help it, but like, can you see me sitting on me arse all day? I sure in hell can't. I will try the compression thing first, and Deep Heat cream.
ABOVE: Visitors arrived, so I cooked them some food and we enjoyed a visit. Keera is staring at me wondering how the hell I know where all the keys are on the keyboard. Hard to explain how you learn to touch type... back in the day we had OLD AS FUCK typewriters, and the keyboard was covered with a cloth that was around the typewriter and then over our heads! It meant you simply couldn't see the keys. So there ya go.
LACY IS NOW GOING TO TYPE TO SHOW HOW FUCKING GOOD SHE IS AT IT:
so now lacty is having a go because she is gust glugging amazing im a a tasd ogg as i gave not gad much practice hahaha and they are noth watching me like nlinnken gallatz hahahah.
What she meant to type was : ... So now Lacy is having a go because she is just fluffing amazing I'm a tad off as I have not had much practice hahaha and they are both watching me like fluffin gallahs hahaha.
ABOVE: Finally finished this WASJIG, it was one of the hardest I've done. I might have to go and buy another one soon.
But right now, I am about to go out and buy a thing for my leg.
ABOVE: Well this is the only thing I could find to help support my calf muscle. It's a compression sock type thing, without the 'sock' component. Fingers crossed it helps.
ABOVE: While out and about, I got a few more supplies for my new project.
Keera is coming over again this afternoon, so she can work on a project as well.
For now though, I shall put my leg up and give it a rest.
It is so hot here in the family room I am finding it hard not to fall asleep! I might have to watch a movie or doco to stay awake.
ABOVE: Miss Muppet happily helping her Grandma with the new project. We worked until Stew arrived home at 6 pm, then it was 'down tools' and time to be inside with Granddad. Might have to feed the child ... hmmm.... what to throw her way? 😂😅😉
We all had some lovely Dino Chicken Nuggets! They were so yum, particularly with Sweet 'n' Sour sauce. Stew and Keera had some potato wedges as well.
We are now winding down ... sending jabba jaws off to bed soon! She's wearing me out I tell ya.
Catch ya tomorrow.
I moved from a 3,200 square foot home to a 1,078 square foot home and I love it. It is an adjustment. and sometimes I look at bigger homes and wistfully remember all of the room I had....but, been there done that. Here's to many happy years in your new home and area. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteI learnt to touch type in England (in the old days) with a cloth over the keys (not over my head!) to the William Tell Overture - that is so fast to type to but it worked. If the keyboard isn't QWERTY as in a;phone I find it really hard to find the keys. Audrey
ReplyDeleteIm Glad you've got some support for your leg but rest is the best. Im told theres a netflix movie about Martha Stewart which isvreaaly good. Keera is growing up so fast. No dancing ok? Kj
ReplyDeleteI moved into a 2 bedroom unit in a retirement village two years ago, and I love it. The size is perfect
ReplyDeleteKeera is getting so tall. I could NEVER get my head around touch typing ASDF and ;LKJ took typing 3 times and still can't type...its one finger for me.
ReplyDeleteI took typing for one year in my 5th form year, and got School C in Typing!
DeleteI did typing at highschool then back as adult student then night school. Not for me lol
DeleteI learned to type on a typewriter with no markings on it. Now I just pick and poke as I never used typing when I worked. The happiest time of my life I lived on small boats. I am now back in the house that I ran away from to be with my second husband. Because my first husband would never give me a divorce, when he died, I got the house back. It is a two large bedroom house and too big for me now that I am a widow. I am too old to move and could never deal with all the stuff in here. I am happy in this neighbourhood as we have had this house for over 40 years and before that lived in the house next door for about 20 years. You will be so happy that you got rid of your junk and went small as you age. I am thinking that you will start junking up the new house . Don’t do it. Gigi
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with your typing skills! Your too, LACY. You did quite well. I still lokk at the keyboard and use 2 fingers.
ReplyDeleteI think I did something to my calf muscle too. It started hurting on the drive home from Set last night. Maybe standing and working for 13 hours and overnights, and not drinking enough liquid - contributed? I am going to try some stretches or yoag today. I have 2 days off. Although I slept until noon today after getting home at 5am )which was an early night)
All the pickleball players around here wear those sock things! They must work!
ReplyDeleteAwwww Keera is so tall another sewer in the family nice!
ReplyDeleteThe round TT looks great
