Today is brought to you by two sassy cats.
Lacy will get the joke.
Moving on...
It is the LAST day of April! Tomorrow we are into MOVING MONTH. It seems to have taken forever to get here.
The Council did not get here yesterday to fix the water flow problem in our bathroom. Maybe they will today? I'm probably going to wait till the end of the week, and if they haven't turned up by then, I'll have to get a plumber to come out. But before that, I'll ring the Council EVERY DAY to remind them that I'm having to fill my bloody loo cistern with a bucket, or wait an hour for the water to trickle in and fill it.
Today's plan is to do the vacuuming, tidy up the garage a bit and then sew those coasters that I sure in hell didn't do yesterday.
I tend to procrastinate sometimes ... who doesn't?
10.37 am: I had a thought overnight, so acted on it.I went into town and hired an exercycle. I want to get my fitness back up before we move.
Walking is out of the question, but cycling is not.
While in town, I decided to visit the City Council in person, instead of sitting on the end of a phone, on hold for god knows how long.
ABOVE: I told the lovely young man behind reception about the issue in our home, and he talked to someone and said they would be out to fix the problem in an hour.
So I hot footed it home, to find ...
ABOVE: They beat me home! And, they couldn't fix the problem from the roadside. So are sending out a plumber, who should be here either today or tomorrow! Wow, I'm impressed.
Now I'm going to see if I can get the exercycle out of the car and inside, so I can use it. It may have to wait till Stew gets home if it's too heavy for me.
11.03 am: And that would be a big fat NO to me getting the exercycle out of my car. It's too heavy.
I'm now going to take a break and finish watching a YouTube series, The Gardener.
The Gardener... verdict? Excellent. Well worth watching.
My leg didn't appreciate me racing around town this morning... it's bloody sore now. I don't think I'll do the vacuuming after all. Might be a lazy tart and just potter around doing odd jobs instead.
4.27 pm and it's already getting dark! Winter is certainly creeping in. Yet it's not cold. Stupid weather.
I painted my plank and blocks this afternoon, they are to put bowl cosy's on at market.
No plumber arrived this afternoon, so hopefully he comes tomorrow. If not, I will ring them, as I know the company that the Council uses.
ABOVE: I just finished these coasters. I've 5 more to stitch up tomorrow. It's another good way to use up scraps.
Nearly time for Stew to arrive home, so I'm packing up and heading back into the house now.
ABOVE: And now we have an exercycle to use until we move. Where we are moving to has a fully equipped gym, so we only need this one for a month. Just have to use it now! lol
Stew spoke to his physiotherapist today, and he agreed that the exercycle would be good for both of us to use.
I've spent the evening writing lists. Funny that.
There is so much we have to remember to do in the final week here, and the first week 'there.
Tomorrow I am going to ring the moving company, as we have decided to try and get the move out/move in done on the same day.
NOT something we have done before I think. But we are going to risk it. It will work out if we get the keys to the new house in the early afternoon.
Time will tell.
Right, time to end the day.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Frustrating that the water issue hasn't been fixed. Hopefully it is sooner than later. Last day of April, woo-hoo! congrats on getting to moving month! Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteInstead of filling up the cistern, leave a bucket of water next to the toilet and use when required. We did that every winter in England because the cisterns would freeze up - we did it again in Auckland during the water crisis some years ago. Audrey
ReplyDeleteWow that's really fast for the Council lol. Reckon you could get a login for that lol. Kj
