EXERCYCLE ONLY

I learnt a lesson yesterday.

Don't try doing a walk after spending two hours wandering around gardens the day before!

Today I am going to get on the exercycle a few times instead.

Clearly my calf muscle needs more rest.

IT IS GETTING BETTER... but it just needs more time.

ABOVE: We had a lovely sunset last night.   I was looking at it thinking, I wonder what our new backyard sunset will look like?

I've no idea.

ABOVE:  I was out by the pool watching the sunset, and also admired the HUGE palm plant.  We planted it 4 years ago as a teeny, tiny little thing.  LOOK at it now!  It obviously loves where it is.  I will miss it too.

ABOVE:  Also going to miss fantails taking baths on top of the pool.  This one was having a blast!
I'm sure we will have fantails at our new home though, there's plenty of native plants around to attract them.
I will set up a place for them and the bees to have a drink and bath in our new garden.

I really will enjoy setting up a new garden, and making it and the house our own.

10.37 am, and my first job today was to prepare and cook a couple of BIG meatloaves.

The aim is to have most of our frozen stuff from the freezer eaten before we move.

I can happily shop to restock the pantry, fridge and freezer once we have moved.

ABOVE: So there we go. Two meatloaves baking in the oven.   We shall be eating meatloaf for the next two weeks I'm thinking! 😊😂  Or I just get the kids over to help eat it.  Good idea.

Next thing on me list... clean out the fridge, throw out anything that's past date, or not likely to be used.  Off to do that now.

ABOVE:  Another BIG TICK.   And I've put some collapsible boxes in the bottom of the pantry for what's left in there....  I think next week I shall pull the fridge out and clean behind it too.
The more I can do now, means less to do on 'moving day'.
There's been a lot of BIG TICKS going on. 😊

It is now 11.37 and I'm stopping for a break.  Might have an early lunch ...

ABOVE: Done.  And they smell amazing.  I might 'taste test' one of them.

Yeah, very edible.  lol

ABOVE:  Moving on, it's now almost 5 pm and I've spent the past couple of hours emptying and cleaning 8 more kitchen cupboards.
Not much more to do in the kitchen now, except empty cupboards that I've already cleaned.  I think I am going to need a few more boxes, so will go and get them tomorrow.
*The blue tape on the front of a cupboard means it's empty and cleaned.

7.28 pm:  Stew arrived home and immediately grabbed some cold meatloaf to eat.  He declared it excellent.
Then we took off for the supermarket to get more bin bags.  Of course we ended up getting more than just them.

Now, it's finally blob out time!  I did not get on the exercycle at all today!  I had good intentions, but I seemed to move from one job to the next, all day long.

And now I'm damn tired, so won't be getting on it tonight either.

Catch ya tomorrow... when I will not do so much, and I WILL get on the exercycle.

DOUBLE DIGITS

FIRST thing for today, it is Archer's birthday.

He hits DOUBLE DIGITS... the big TEN.

ABOVE:  Archer at 12 days old...

HAPPY TENTH BIRTHDAY ARCHER

Today, seeing as my leg held up really well yesterday at the Gardens, I'm off for an FBG walk.

I am going to only do a 'half' today, not going to push it for now.

There will be a morning tea chat afterwards, so it will be a nice way to spend some time this morning.

When I get home, I'm going to buy an Azalea to replace the one I'm taking out of our garden.

I bought a 'Princess Maud' Azalea a couple of years ago, in memory of my Mum.  I have never seen another one.  So, I'm taking it with me.  The new owners will be none the wiser.

ABOVE:  Once a month I refill my pill dispenser.  Yesterday I filled it and thought.... the next time I fill this, we will be in our new home!  It's taken so much longer than I anticipated to say that.

Two weeks and 5 days to go.

And that is all I've got on my agenda for now... so I'll catch ya later.

12.13 pm.  Was it a good idea going for a walk after doing two hours in the Hamilton Gardens yesterday?
Probably not.
I was pretty sore by the time I'd done my small part of the walk this morning.
Maybe I'll wait a bit longer to do another one.  😕😔

I went to Mitre 10 first thing this morning and bought the replacement Azalea.  Now I'm waiting for Lacy to come over to help me get the big pot out of the pool area, so I can put my Princess Maud Azalea in it.

While I wait, I'll have some lunch.

ABOVE:  Lacy arrived and she hauled that big pot out of the Pool area like it was nothing!
It's now out in the rockery (for now), and Princess Maud is safely planted in it.  She will now stay there till we move.  And I think she will live in that pot from now on.
ANOTHER BIG TICK.

I planted the new Azalea in the rockery, and she looks just fine. It is another pretty pink one too.

5.06 pm:  I'm a twit.  I forgot to hit 'Publish' again.
Oh well...more to add now.

We are joining Steve, Bex and the kids for Birthday Cake this evening.

ABOVE: Big smiles, and a really yummy Birthday Cake.

Home now, and looking forward to an early night.  I can't stop yawning!
I'm hoping to get a decent night's sleep.

WALK ABOUT

A small sleep in today, certainly feels good after yesterday morning.

This morning Stew and I are meeting up with Steve, Bex and their kids to take a walk around the Hamilton Gardens.

The 'Themed Gardens' open up at 10, and we plan on going through them again today.

Now though, you have to prove you are a resident of Hamilton to get into them for free.

Otherwise, you have to pay $20 per person!  Thank goodness we are Hamilton residents.

After visiting the gardens, Steve and co will head home so Lily can have her midday nap.

Stew and I will have lunch out, then head home ourselves.

Once home, Stew can pack up what he's not using in his wardrobe.  I started doing it a week ago, but left the stuff up high for him to do.

He also needs to make a start on 'his' corner of the garage.  I'm tying to get more ducks in a row.

I bought some yummy DINO chicken nuggets for Lacy and Keera, so hopefully they swing by this afternoon to pick them up. Keera loves them.

And that is me for now.... off to start the day.

OK.  Our walk around the gardens was wonderful.  The kids loved it.  Lily tried to jump in every body of water. And she RAN around non stop.  Stew ran into a lady who used to work in his organisation.  I just thought he was practising chatting up older ladies!

After our walk, Steve, Bex and the kids went home, and we went on to have lunch at Fergus.  A very nice lunch.
We are now home.  Lacy and Keera have visited and left again.
Stew is sorting out his wardrobe.
I'm going to just relax for a while.
It was two hours of walking in the gardens.

ABOVE: Today's step count... more than I've done in over a month.

Stew did a great job of packing up most of his wardrobe this afternoon.  He also put a big dent in 'his' side of the garage too.  Well done darling.

We are now heading into the evening, and that means blobbing out in front of the telly.
Catch ya tomorrow.

COPD ... YEP SAW IT COMING & MORRINSVILLE MARKET

Ever since 'VAPING' became a thing, I kept saying... you may not be 'smoking', but you are still doing harm to your lungs!

What is the difference?  You are still inhaling a harmful substance into your lungs.

You are asking for trouble.

And finally, the health department has said yep, if you vape, you are twice as likely to develop Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.  (COPD)

But of course, millions of people who vape will say they are just FINE.  It's 'better than smoking'.... I say NOT.

Rant over.

We are off to Morrinsville today.  This may be our last time there.  It all depends on how today goes.

At least the weather is looking good.

Right, I better go.  It's freakin' early, still dark in fact.  Catch ya once we have set up, and can sit down and relax for a while.

...
ABOVE:  7.40 am. And here we are, all set up in Morrinsville.  The heavy clouds have cleared and we have a good deal of blue sky. No wind either, what a relief. It IS a bit cool...

ABOVE: My lovely warm hat has come out of hibernation.

A big THANK YOU to Robyn S for stopping in to say "Hi" this morning.  It's always so neat to see someone who reads the blog.  I'm kicking myself for not getting a photo with you!

1.10 pm:  Just home from the market, which ended up being a nice, if quiet day.  We made a few sales, so MIGHT go back next month.  Not sure yet.

ABOVE: What really surprised me was the weather.  Such a glorious Autumn day.  Not too hot, not too cold.

Stew is heading off to the supermarket for the Diet Coke grab, then he'll probably blob out in front of the telly.
Me meantime, will definitely be off for a bloody nap!
Seriously.  Been awake since 1.30 this morning.  Too many things going around and around in my head to get much sleep.
Add to that Stew's 'WOOLWORTHS BLADDER' keeping me awake as well ... and yeah.  Knackered now.

9 pm:  We have had a quiet afternoon, just watching the tv, computer time etc.
Nothing riveting.
Time to sign off for the day, catch ya tomorrow.

TGIF.... THREE WEEKS TO GO

This morning I'm going over to Cambridge to join the FBG's for morning tea.  It will kill some time.

Seriously, I have so little to do around our house at the moment.  And I hate having nothing to do.

I should be enjoying this 'down' time, because once we move I'll have MASSES to do.

When I get home from Cambridge, I will jump on the exercycle and get some much needed exercise.

I'm trying to do short stints, several times a day.  I sure in hell can't do like, 30 minutes non stop right now.  My fitness is totally gone.
So, small and often until I am fit again.

Later on today, I shall get everything ready for our market in Morrinsville tomorrow.  The weather is looking semi favourable, small blessings.

1.38 pm:  My morning was lovely, spending time with my FBG friends is always uplifting.
After morning tea, I came back and did a grocery shop.  Dropped some iced buns in to Lacy, for her and Keera.

Then home, unpacked, had lunch and now... I'm heading into the garage to do some more sorting out, closing some of the boxes from the pantry that I'd kept open.  Making sure all the stuff in the garage is good to go.

4.22 pm.  My back is saying 'ENOUGH'... so I'm stopping.  Bending over friggin boxes is not fun.  Using packaging tape that does NOT stick?  F'ING annoying.
So, rather than make up a few more boxes, I've decided to call it a day.
Now I only have to help pack the car once Stew gets home from work.

7.11 pm, and that job is done.  I'm looking forward to a dry market tomorrow.
Now I'm gunna blob out and watch TV till bedtime... which won't be late in light of our having to rise at 5.30 am.
JOY.

IT'S MAY!

GOOD MORNING!

It is MAY.

Our moving month.

23 days to gooooooooo............. and I can't wait.

Not because I'm totally wrapt with the new house, but because the transition from a large home to a smaller home had to happen, and I'm over the wait to get it over with.  😏

And I want to get all our stuff out of storage, I miss quite a bit of it.

Today I am off to Cambridge to do some mosaics.

ABOVE:  I bought these glass half domes for my latest little project, the Bee ROCK.

I would have liked more colours, but that was all they had at David's Emporium.  I might be able to find some other colours at mosaics.  They have masses of stuff there.

Hopefully I hear from the plumber today, and he can come out to fix things this afternoon.

ABOVE:  IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER TO ME WHAT DAY IT IS... BUT I THOUGHT THAT WAS FUNNY.

10.43 am, at mosaics. Happily holding tiles in place till they don't run off me rock.

ABOVE:  I got about 15 more tiles (half rounds and stars) onto me rock this morning.  It's slow going as I have to hold each one on till it sticks, otherwise it slides off.

Home now.  Had lunch.  And then the plumber arrived.

1.36 pm:  And the water flow issue is resolved.  The plumber had to take apart the cistern completely, clean it out and then put it back together.  And that worked.
Thank goodness!
I can relax now.

LOL... I'm watching a movie on Netflix.  'Bullet Train Explosion'... a film from Japan.  It's hysterical in how BAD it is!  It's a rip off of SPEED, but using a bullet train instead of a bus.  And of course, the train driver is a woman.  *snort*  She ain't no Sandra Bullock.
I have to keep watching... cos I want to see just how bad it can get!

Still watching this stupid movie... scrolling on Facebook at the same time.
Saw this:

ABOVE: All I can say is ... "OH HELL NO".
That is all.

Well, that movie was 'watchable', but only just.
After that, I moved on to some household jobs.  And not much else.

My leg?  OMG It is starting to feel much better.  Such a relief.  I am even thinking of joining the FBG's on Monday and doing a half walk.  We'll see how it feels after the weekend.

Stew should be home soon, then I'll take him to the pub, and visit the kids for a couple of hours.

8.14 pm:  We have just arrived home from being out and about.  Stew had an enjoyable time at the pub, and I had a lovely time with the kids.  We had Pizza for dinner, very yum.
Lily was very entertaining as per usual.

Now... time to blob out till bedtime.
It's been an awesome 1st of May.
Catch ya tomorrow.
