First up for today is to return the sleeping bag!
It is a 'Standard' size, and I am not a Standard Sized chick. I'm just a bit chunkier. Sure, I could get in the bag etc, but it was just a bit too snug.
I'd like to feel comfortable, and I didn't. They come in larger sizes, so hopefully they have a larger one.
After that, I shall come home and work on making new straps for the gazebo. The existing straps I made to hang runners on are wearing out.
They are about 7 years old, so they have done well.
Now, some happy news. Lacy has a part time job.
PULLING TITS.
ABOVE: Yeah, THOSE sorta tits! ππ π She's going to do relief milking for a farm just out of Hamilton.
She's thrilled to bits, and I'm very happy for her.
Right, that's me for now.
Catch ya later.
12.01 pm: And I've had a very pleasant morning.
I went to the Coffee & Chat down in the village clubrooms. Met quite a few lovely people. Lots of chatting going on.
I also ran into one of my neighbours outside and had a good yak with him too.
Then I went and ended up returning the sleeping bag, as they didn't have any bigger, just longer.
So looks like this Saturday I'll be reverting to me long johns and blanket.
Now... as per usual, I'm about to have some lunch.
Then, who knows?
Another good report in from my niece, my sister is doing well. Sleeping a lot, which is to be expected. At least she's in good hands, and is not in pain.
Procrastination is alive and well... I didn't get to the straps today, so I MUST do them tomorrow.
I dropped Stew at the pub this evening, then visited the kids. After that, I joined Stew for some hot chips, and a good yakkity yak with our friends there.
Home now, heating up hot pods for Coco and me.
Then I will settle down, and await Coronation Street.
Catch ya tomorrow.
That's awesome news Lacy. Your clients are usually calm and they won't talk back at you. Kj
ReplyDeleteI know several people who do milking and absolutely love it! I hope Lacy enjoys it too. Regarding keeping warm, why not buy TWO pairs of fluffy lined track pants from Kmart or similar and wear two pairs. Stu did this recently at the Greytown Festival where the temperature was freezing... it worked well. What about those big onsie outfits you and Stu bought to going to and from the pool? Could you wear that over other warm track pants?
ReplyDeleteGood for Lacy!! Great news.
ReplyDeleteRe yesterday post how super you helped your neighbour out up the road friend.
ReplyDeleteI don't like feeling "stuck" in a sleeping bag. If I want to jump up because of wind, or customers, or a pee break - I don't want to worm out of a bag first. I guess you could just use it as a blanket. Or make yourself an awesome toasty lap blanket! Or make some insulated patchwork "chaps" to wear over your pants! HAHA.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that your sister is doing well. What a relief.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect job for LACY. I know she really likes farms and animals - so perfect!
You know.... No matter how bad an idea is that I come up with - if I delve into it - somebody else has already done it.
UNTIL NOW!
Nobody, from what I can tell, has ever made colorful, cute, quilted CHAPS. (you know.. like the cowboys wear).
Basically an insulated table runner for each leg. Snaps in the middle. And a funky belt around the waist. You could be a walking advertisement. Attach a scrappy doll to one leg. OH - the endless possibilities.
OK OK. I will stop being a DONK. (noun slang a foolish, clumsy, or inept person)
Do you have something to stand on at the markets to help stop the cold coming up thru your feet. I'm not a fan of puffer jackets (I'm fat enough as it is) but can't ya get puffer pants shame you can't plug you heated rug in, a generator heater, is perhaps going a bit over the top. It was -4 here this morning.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can unzip a sleeping bag and just wrap it around you like a warm blanket? Good luck. I went outside earlier and nearly froze. I hate winter.... xx Colleen
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could get one of those exercise bike pedals that you can use when sitting on the couch, they are small and moving your legs at the markets would keep you warm...lol...you can also get knee length heated socks that run on batteries...they work really well according to a older person I know....Peta
ReplyDeleteOodie has a track suit which is fully lined like their oodies, so warm and could do the trick if you ordered online https://www.theoodie.co.nz/collections/oodie-original-pants?srsltid=AfmBOoq6OX4EUMF1s4p5oqvMSqGX2lRev4vHcupZD0gkJwuYczjrqVE5

ReplyDeleteVery good news about Lorraine. Wishing her the very best.
Sounds as though you're settling into the village. Sweet about the neighbours.
Great to hear that Lorraine is out of hospital ... I'm sure she will be a lot happier in her own environment. Congratulations to Lacy on her new job.
