Today we have two important things to do.
1. We go to have the final, pre-settlement viewing of our new home.
That's when we get to make sure nothing has been taken out of the house that is supposed to stay. Like curtains/oven etc.
And to make sure everything works, like lighting, garage door opener etc.
THEN:
2. We have the purchasers of our current home coming this afternoon to do their pre-settlement viewing. Same thing goes, they get to make sure everything is as it should be.
Thank God the carpet is dry now!
So, it's going to be a fun day I'm sure.
ABOVE: I completely forgot to tell you, THE PSYCHO SCRAPPY DOLL was one of the three sold on Saturday. ððð I might just make another couple like that! lol
I'm starting to miss sewing... like I know I need to make more Scrappy's and I want to do them NOW. But of course, all my sewing stuff is packed. *sigh*
10.30 am, and we just took the rest of our house plants over to Steve 'n' Bex's. They will stay there till early next week no doubt.
I ordered some glass domes off Trade Me a week ago, and they got delivered to our new address this morning. So we drove out there and picked it up.
ABOVE: The little glass domes. They are way smaller than I anticipated, but I will use them on a mosaic project at some point.
We are now taking a break, as there's bugger all to do now.
I'm looking at the kitchen, thinking OMG it's naked! So weird.
We are gunna have lunch at Chartwell Square today, after we have viewed the new house again. I'm looking forward to a chicken filo with salad.
I have one piece of meatloaf left in the freezer, it is coming out tonight. We will be eating it over the next couple of days... because after tonight, I'm not cooking anything else in the kitchen.
2 pm: The viewing at our new home went just fine, no issues to worry about.
Our agent knew all the things to check, so we didn't have to try and remember everything.
After the viewing, we had lunch.
Then I tracked down a book I have already read, but wanted to buy. Cos it's THAT GOOD!
ABOVE: Such a good read, well worth buying and reading again one day. Stew has even said he will try reading it. *snort*... he's not much of a reader.
ABOVE: I then went to Farmers, and they had managed to restock my lippy! So when she said 'Buy TWO, get the Third one FREE' ... of course I bought three. lol
Home now, and about to do a few last minute things before our buyers come for their last inspection.
4.15 pm and the final inspection is over. And it went very well. Our buyer is DELIGHTFUL, such a lovely young woman. We have exchanged phone numbers, so if she has any problems or wants a pool tutorial etc, we can come and help her. Only too happy to do that for her.
NOW we can relax.
I'm making dinner, air fried rissoles and some little potato gems. I do believe that will be the final time I turn our oven on.
7.14 pm, and I'm done for the day. So tired I'm going to lie in bed and just watch a You Tube video, scroll Instagram etc. It is getting really cold ... expecting 2 degrees in the morning. Brrrr.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Are you on the premises when the buyers of your home are doing their final walk-thru or only their agent?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how you set up your new sewing area. Maybe your next scrappy doll s/b something special for you to keep to commemorate that it is the first thing you sewed in your new home. Done in blue fabrics of course. Ky Girl
Yes we will be here, in case they have any questions. Nice idea re: 1st sewing project in new home.
DeleteI image the Psycho dolls will sell well as so many people will relate to them. They would be especially good as a gift for a psycho friend! Good luck with the move, I'm sure it will go well as you have done so much prep for it.
ReplyDeleteI love the psycho doll. It must be frustrating for you not to have any thing to do. Sadly I'm not like that lol. Hope all goes well at both houses. I'm sure it will. Kj
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting patiently to hear that all is well with both homes. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteOh not the “psycho” doll that no one Liked pffft well well guess it’s a seller who knew!
ReplyDeleteHaven't had much time to read, but have caught up today. So exciting now that you are so close to the move. I look forward to seeing how you settle in to the new place - will be a bit different downsizing. But I know that you will make it work, and make it your own. I hope all goes smoothly, no more leaks or other hicups.

Are you excited? Looking forward to the move after seeing the place again? Nervous? All of the above?
ReplyDeleteAww this final countdown is amazing and all the boxes getting ticked
ReplyDeleteLoving the colours in the wee glass domes
You’ll do something great with them when you’re settled in,
It’s been a long settlement date but when downsizing probably easier and knowing what you can and can’t live with or without in the near future,,
Thanks for letting us here be part of the Journey with you all,
Cheers ðĨ
ReplyDeleteYay!!! So excited for you ð
ReplyDeleteThe domes are beautiful. They will look gorgeous ÃŽn the sun. Did the husband come too. Have a good sleep. Kj
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for a good move to your new home. It will be nice to get yourselves settled again. I have only moved twice in my life, once when I got married and all I took was a bag of clothing, then about 20 some years later when we bought the house next door and we hand moved everything but the fridge by ourselves. After a year there I left my husband and lived with my second husband on his boat. My husband first would not give me a divorce so when he died 4 years later, I inherited all of my stuff and housees. I will never move again, and have been back in my house for 40 years, next door to the first house. I just can’t imagine moving as often as you do. You seem to be very restless.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the new buyers can contact you in regards to the pool. Hopefully they won't have to but glad they can. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteSo glad the inspections went well and what a treat that the new buyer is so nice!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it went well for you. All the very best for the shift. Saw your scrappy dolls and made one. Gave it to my work colleague for her daughter - Mel comes into work the following Monday and says that Nyssa showed her where her doll was to sit for the day - she said "Demon can sit here" - well I laughed my butt off and then to see your doll called Psycho... made my day. Have the best move ever. Am up in the Waikato for the Field Days at Mystery Creek but don't get much if any down time, but if you are in the vicinity - come visit me at the Kubota/Krone site :-) would love to see you xx Michele
