KEEPING A LOW PROFILE TODAY

Right, today I will be staying home, and keeping my head down.

I will get some sewing done.

I will do the housework.

And hopefully I will feel better soon.

Yesterday the 'dam burst' ... and last night I was feeling violently ill.  I DID enjoy our dinner, but afterwards!  Ikkkk.

Now I have to work out how to not get in that position again. NO COMMENTS ON IT PLEASE, I will get it sorted out.  This was just to keep you all undated on my 'shituation'.  lol

The rug in the lounge keeps 'wonking off'... which does my head in.  So I shall be re-aligning the sticky under stuff (I forget what it's called), and lining the rug up again.  I don't know what else to do to make sure it stays 'square'.  It is weird the things that do my head in.  Just a little OCD maybe.

I might pop out a bit later, depending how things are 'going' or not... I just want a few bits 'n' bobs from the supermarket.

MARIE: thanks for the helpful advice.  Maybe my 'situation' has been caused by all the new medications I'm taking right now for my Back/Shoulder/Arm pain, plus Trulicity.  But that's only me guessing.
I will talk to my Doctor about the changed situation, and see what he thinks.  My Mother had bowel cancer in her 60's, so probably a very wise move on my part.  (that has always been in the back of my mind)

As for the BSA situation, it's no better.   I stopped taking the pain killers and anti inflammatory pills a couple of days ago, to see if that helped the other situation. It didn't, it just gave the pain in my BSA a chance to ramp up.  Grrrr.    If it's not one thing, it's another right now, very frustrating I must say.

At least the day is lovely, and I can fling open some windows/doors and let the spring air in.
All the housework is now done, and I'm in the mood to do some tweaking, and sewing.
This coming weekend we are pulling everything out of the linen cupboard and putting in better shelving... hopefully that allows me to get it better organised.  Right now it's a bloody jumbled MESS.
And anyone who knows me, knows I hate a mess. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜–

I just went to the supermarket.   It's bloody HOT out there!   I went for AA batteries.  Came out over $500 poorer... those were expensive batteries!  lol
I managed to get a few Christmas things... like the chocolates.
This year for the first time in over 40 odd years, I didn't buy Cadbury Roses!
I got Whittakers packs.  Whittakers chocolate is, by far, superior to Cadburys.
Starting a new tradition.

*** Regarding the Bowel Cancer Screening tests... Both Stew and I are on the register, and have done the tests, and will continue to do them. ***

Just a little update.  My arm is killing me, and I'm not taking the pills, cos pain killers can cause constipation.  And I am CONSIDERING the steroid injection.

  1. Good luck. Moments like this are when you re-assess the food/medication/liquids/fibre... hope you can find a good balance ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰

The rug might be “walking” as people tread on it. I have had rugs do that. You might have to switch it back the other way.

Chris, my only comment is that you need to seek proper medical help, it’s too important than to seek “help” from people on a blog, it turns it in to a laughing matter. I had a friend who died within 7 months of bowel cancer due to ignoring a situation, yeh I know, sounds dramatic, but it’s a fact. Marie, Melbourne

  4. No amount of tape will keep a rug square over carpet (in my experience). We have our rug firmly under the lounge suite on two sides with a coffee table in the middle. It never moves :) Most rugs over carpet is like this with furniture over it. Perhaps realign it like you had it before the other way but with both lounge suites securing it?

  5. Chris, given that your mother had bowel cancer, do you do the free bowel checks you get in the mail? If not, then at least do one of those but certainly ask for a colonoscopy given your mother's cancer. Also, go and get that steroid injection :)

I'm surprised that with your mother's history (and presumbly you have been asked about your family history) you haven't had a colonoscopy before. My sister died at 50 in England with bowel cancer and I am offered a colonoscopy every two years. As I have just spent 8 days in hospital with low red blood cells (and they couldn't find a cause) I am having a gastrocopy/colonoscopy to look for a possible bleed in two weeks. The preparation for the colonoscopy is no fun but necessary. BTW, one of the side effects of most medications can be constipation. Audrey

  7. I know you dont want to hear about poop but I had a friend that was on the weight loss shots as well and she got a bowel obstruction and had to have emergency surgery. She went 3 weeks without going and was still taking her shots when it happened. Just be careful. I know you have a bleeding issue . Hope things get better soon! Take care

  10. Hi Chris - I recently had a steroid injection in my AC joint (the space between the end of the collarbone and shoulder) due to bursitis. I'm almost three months out and it has made a world of a difference - i was super nervous about it initially, but so SO worth it to not be in constant pain daily. I also found voltaren gel helpful (the osteo 12 hour one) and dare i say it, icing my shoulder when it got really sore :)
