Another chance to get to know more people here in the Village. There's a 'Welcome' Morning Tea in the clubhouse, and I'm going. Sadly, (probably secretly thrilled), Stew cannot attend.
I doubt it would be his 'cuppa tea' anyway. Sitting around yakking with a bunch of old biddys. Though, he'd probably enjoy the food.
After morning tea, I am going to have a swim, followed by a soak in the hot tub. I've been looking forward to that for a few days now.
QUESTION: I'm thinking of making a few of these for sale on our stall...
ABOVE: Casserole carriers. I had thought of making the 'traditional' round ones, but they are a massive fag to make. I think rectangular ones would be just as handy, and certainly easier to make.
So, what do you think? Yes, or No?
They could be used to carry any food, a bowl of salad, basket of fruit, etc etc? I'm still thinking about it...
In the meantime, I've done the housework, showered, washed the hair, put the face on and am about ready for the morning tea.
Well, that was a very nice gathering. And a nice spread on the table. I have taken some to have later on, after WW weigh in.
I wasn't going to WW tonight, as I've gained about a kilo in the past two weeks.
Trying to eat more so my blood sugars don't bottom out, and yeah. Gained weight.
But, I'll persevere, I'll continue what I've always done... YO - YO. 😖😏
I don't look like some old hag who let herself go... YET! lol
NOTE: The eyebrows have settled down enough for me to kinda like them again. Derrr.
I ended up staying in the hot tub for only about 10 minutes, then got too hot. So, while it was nice, I doubt we'll be in it much over summer.
The pool though, should be fine.

Hey Chris, I’m a no on casserole carrier, not just being a negative Nancy, just who takes casseroles to anywhere these days. If I’m asked to bring something, it’s usually a salad, a dessert, a cake etc and this type of carrier is impractical. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteI also think that would be a limited use item, translating to limited sales.
ReplyDeleteI
Zippered bags/ pouches. Quick and easy variety.
ReplyDeleteDefinately a yes on the carriers.
ReplyDeleteI take casseroles regularly, but I would not want to store the carrier.
ReplyDeleteI put aluminum foil over top, wrap in a very large beach towel and put in a box or bin.
Vickie
That's how I carry my casseroles as well, Vicki.
DeleteI do like the casserole carrier you shared, Chris. They are so colorful I could hang it on a kitchen wall while not using. Maybe. ;-). Ky Girl
You could make one and see if it sells.

I think anything is worth a try. You only need to make a couple to see how they go. They can be used for salads or sweets as well as casseroles
ReplyDeleteI have a round one, bought form a party planner thingy - maybe Elmon linen, I think I have used it 2 times in 30 years hahahahah
ReplyDeleteIt's a no from me as well. I remember these sorts of things being used back in the 80s but times change. Yes, maybe make one and see how it sells like Vickie said or go back to the drawing board for other ideas? Sorry, not trying to be negative.
ReplyDeletePersonally, no to the casserole carrier but as Vickie suggested make one or two and see how they sell
ReplyDeleteI have one of your round ones and although I don't use it often when I do I am always very grateful I have it. I like the idea of the rectangle cos I think more people use that shape than round. As Vickie said, make a couple and see. You can always gift them if they don't sell!
ReplyDeleteI'm a yes on the carriers, at least as a trial, and I don't even eat or make casseroles! I can see it being handy for quiche, cupcakes, sandwiches, cake, all the sorts of things I take to pot luck situations.
