HIT REPEAT TODAY

Today I'm going to be boring.

I will be sewing that next round table topper, which is looking so lovely I might add.  I added another little detail to this one.

I might go down to the gym, and follow it up with a soak in the hot tub as well.

That will depend on how my BSA is feeling.  Last night it was really, really sore, to the point where I literally loaded up on painkillers when I got home from WW.   BSA= BACK SHOULDER ARM.

I'm sick of typing it all out. Get used to BSA. 😊

I do wish now I'd made a Dr's appointment with another doctor when I went down there last week.  Now I'll have to wait until we get home from Australia.  Derrr.

12.43 pm, and I'm finally sitting down again.
I spent the morning doing some exercise, then I came home and did some work on preparing for our trip.  Wrote lists.  Found stuff, etc.
I still need to go to SPARK and sort out International Roaming, and inform the village admin that we will be away. That's for security reasons.

Lacy got some amazing news today.  She has been doing relief milking for a while, and is LOVING working on a farm again.
Today she was employed to do AB (Artificial Breeding) as well over the next month.  She is thrilled to bits to finally be getting off the benefit and actually working full time.  And of course the best part is she's working on a farm, around cows, which she just loves so much.  After the month of AB, she will be back to relief milking, which is spasmodic work.  But still work.  She's so PROUD of herself, as are we.  WELL DONE LACY.
I tried some clothes on, to see what fits, and what I should take with me to Aussy.  We are packing LIGHT... knowing that we shall probably do some shopping over there.  Like, that's a GIVEN eh?  lol
It's 3.30 and the skies have gone dark!  We are in for some wet weather by the look of it.  Dang, and I've got a full load of washing on right now.  😕😖
I have got our suitcases out, and have put a few things in them already! Talk about getting ready ahead of time.
Unlike last time, when I booked tickets, packed and left in under 4 hours!  How I didn't forget anything important is beyond me.

ABOVE:   7.28 pm, and we have just arrived home from having some dinner out.  I really felt like a burger from Burger Fuel.  Luckily they have smaller versions cos I had a really lovely chicken burger that was much smaller than the usual ones.  It was lovely too.
Now, as per usual, we are settled down for the evening, parked in front of the telly.
HOW RUDE!  Coronation Street has been bumped tonight in favour of bloody CRICKET!  FFS, how rude.
I'll have to watch something else.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Sorry the BSA is still a bother. I've almost made it through my sciatica problem with 2 Tylenol Arthritis pills in the AM and 2 in the PM. Plus wearing 4% Lidocaine patches around the clock. It's been a long 3+ weeks. I hope you can find some relief soon. Ky Girl

  2. Is there a chance of getting to see ANY doctor before your trip? It seems like a real bother. Do you have any "walk-in" non emergency type situations?

  3. Did you lift any of those bags stones? Yesterday could it be rotator cuff?
How well do you tolerate tramadol?
It’s a grungy pain killer but makes some very very sleepy.

I take Celebrex it’s an rheumatoid/osteopath/arthritic/pain relief it is a game changer for me otherwise my shoulder and left hand would literally make me cry with the constant pain.

    1. No I didn't lift any stones. Lacy did it all. I hurt my shoulder lifting a shelving unitvwhen we moved house. It's been getting worse since May. Constant pain, aching all the time. I'm picking it's rotary cuff as I have every single symptom of it. Still waiting for an ultrasound.

If it is a full tear, and it sounds like it might be, that’s surgery, total immobilization, lots of physical therapy, almost a year recovery.

I had mine fixed in Sept 2020, luckily my husband was working from home. I needed a lot of help during the immobilization part. It was a very long time before I could dress myself. It was a really long time before I could drive again.

I made a full recovery. I followed instructions very carefully.

If it is a sizable tear, it is surgery. If it is a sizable tear you want surgery, that is the only fix.

  4. Tramadol is awful, I can't take it at all. I was prescribed other medication when I needed pain relief after knee surgery. Did you take out travel insurance? I never, ever travel without it for exactly cases like this. You absolutely should have had a scan (they are not expensive!!)... why wait for public care when you could have booked a scan straight away. If you'd gone back to any doctor they would have sorted something out. Sorry to sound angry but I am... too much procrastination over what seems to be a very serious issue.

    1. Yes we have travel insurance. Yes, I should have gone to a dr. Yes I should have just paid for an ultrasound. Yes. *sigh* Tramadol used to work for me, but it's not really helping with this pain. I will probably go to an A & E clinic now.

In our village we have to inform the management when we are going away (for security reasons and also for St Johns alarms) and also if anyone is staying in our villa while we are away. Audrey

Congratulations Lacy. That's awesome news and I bet more fulltime work will come from it. Enjoy.

Sorry to hear you are still in pain. For the short term have your considered 1 – stop sewing (in the short term) – the repetitive actions of guiding fabric might be aggravating it. 2 – Look at getting a bra fitting – us women with bigger busts have a lot of stress on neck back and shoulders when we do not have a correctly fitted supportive bra. Just thoughts that might help ease some of the pain in the short term.

Absolutely get a bra fitting. So worth the money spent on the right fit.

My girls no longer live down by my belly button and now I look better in my tops, not to mention how much drag was lessened on my shoulders.

Bonus ….as you can claim the GST back if you buy them in Australia

Oh Chris for goodness sake spend the money on your health 🤦‍♀️ and Stew’s. You seem to be very financially secure and able to spoil yourselves with beautiful items, lots of dinners and lunches out but you neglect your health not willing to pay for medical procedures that seem to be urgent. Yes you deserve every single luxury that you and Stew have worked extremely hard for but what use will your lifestyle be if you are in pain 🤷‍♀️. Sorry, I know it’s not my business as such but as you post about how uncomfortable you and Stew are with pain, I just can’t understand why you don’t have the medical attention you require without waiting possibly for long periods meanwhile your conditions will deteriorate. You are an intelligent lady Chris, I just don’t get it.

    1. Ummm... we didn't realise how long it was going to take to get our appointments. And last month I was a bit distracted with my sisters health and ultimate death. We will work on our health issues as soon as we get home from Aussy.

Of course you were distracted losing your sister 😢. I didn’t mean it if my comment sounded harsh. As you said you think you hurt your shoulder in May moving shelving and it’s gradually got worse. Being careful, as you are, not to aggravate the injury while you are waiting for your appointment is the best thing you can do. How exciting to be packing for your holiday. Never too early to start packing I say. Bring it on 👍

So sorry to hear you are still in so much pain Chris. I hope it doesn't dampen the excitement of the trip. Also, Lacy, go you! Congratulations and I hope you have a lot of fun with the work. Here's hoping more full time work comes down the track, but in the meantime, you are killing it! xxx

  15. Coronation Street was on Monday and Tuesday this week to compensate for not being on tonight so you've still had all the episodes.

  17. Well done, Lacy. It's wonderful that you've found a job you love. Chris ... has anyone suggested a sling to take the pressure off the shoulder? At least to try it to see if it helps? Erin

Not all Drs will prescribe Tramadol Hubby’s current dr will not, so put him on pain patches 24/7 plus occasionally oxy and other pain meds
