WALKIES... AND RUMMIKUB

It's another crispy, freezing, frosty morning.  And that crazy tart, Lacy, is coming over to drag me out walking again.

This time, I'm gunna wear a zip front jacket, with a t-shirt under it.  And no hat 'n' gloves.

I should be just fine after a few minutes of brisk walking.

If not, I'll come back here and bitch about it!  lol

After our walk, Lacy will feast on some of the fruit pie I made yesterday.

I will give it a miss, having had some last night.

I will be working on organising my sewing 'room' a bit better later on this morning, so it flows a bit better.

The garage is of course, the dumping ground for a lot of shit as well.  I want to rectify that.

After lunch, I am going down to the Community Centre and joining the RUMMIKUB group for my first ever game.  I hope it goes well, and they accept me into the group.

Time to roll over, read the news then think about getting out of bed.  Ikkk... so cold, so cold.

I ended up wearing a lighter weight hoodie for the walk. Kept the hood on for about 5 minutes, then was warm enough to take it off.  Our river walks take us up and down a few hills, enough to get the blood pumping.  I sometimes need to stop for a breather, bearing in mind I bloody LOATHE hills.  Maybe one day I'll actually get used to them?

ABOVE: Today's walk stats.  I'm happy enough with that.
Yesterday, while pottering around at home, I did 1,660 steps! Stellar effort - NOT. lol

The plumber is back today, doing something in the ceiling and on the roof.  I think it's something to do with the hot water overflow thingee.  Once that's done, he's finished.

I'm mad at myself.  I went into the garage to do some sorting, and got a bit carried away.  Next thing I know it's about half an hour AFTER the start of bloody Rummikub!  I was not going to barge in there that late, so I will have to wait until next week to go now.
Only up side of that is, I get more time to study how to play Rummikub.

And I did get a bit done in the garage.

NOW.  Tomorrow I am going to ask for help choosing a name for something.  So come back tomorrow to help me!

In the meantime, I'm going to go online to find a few things... the plumber is going to instal an insinkerator for us soon.  I want to find what one to get.
I also want to get a shade sail or similar for the back patio (off the garage) to put over our clothes drying rack.  I'll probably have to get a sun umbrella... knowing the neighbours will no doubt object to a shade sail IN THEIR FACE.
Can you buy sun umbrellas with FUCK YOU on them I wonder?  JJ, or am I?

I just got a phone call from Mitre 10, the remaining 7 kitchen cupboard handles are in.  So Stew is going to pick them up on his way home from work.  Yaaaa.

8.24 pm, and I'm done with this day.  Time to simply relax and enjoy the evening.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Just ask the village powers that be what sort of sail or cover you can get for the patio first, then screw the neighbours because you'll have the right one. xx Colleen

I see you’re still banging on about the neighbours. You’re in communal living where there are rules so the sensible thing to do is suss it out with the management, then move on. Marie, Melbourne

    1. YES Marie, I am still 'banging on' about the neighbours. I simply cannot get over how goddam mean and petty some of them are! Seriously shocked to be honest. Most we have already met are just lovely people. But a few immediate ones? NOT NICE PEOPLE at all. The only good thing is ... they are fucking OLD AS, and will pop off much quicker than us.

  8. I’d go for sure with the fuck you awning or “if you can read this
    You’re too nosy!”
And while you’re at it out a note in Stews car when it’s parked saying same thing.

Maybe a really funky sun umbrella those nice heavy ones that are on cantilever system.

  11. Regarding the washing, you are home much of the time so do what I do... put it out when the sun shines and when it doesn't, put it in the dryer - sometimes you just need to use the dryer :) Failing that just run out when it rains and put a little tarp over the washing. Is there not one tiny space you can find to put it in your garage? You are great at moving stuff around after all.

    1. I am still wracking my brains on how to work it ... I put our clothes in the dryer over winter. But I don't like to put linen/towels in the dryer. I much prefer to hang them out. I can't see me sitting there watching the weather, so I can RUN out and bring it in if it rains. I don't RUN. lol Don't worry, I will find a solution eventually. And no, there isn't any room in the garage, without having to move it out of the way whenever I want to get out the door, or use the iron, or or or....

    2. Oh I find linen and towels are the best thing to put in the dryer! I love to hang clothes outside and will always do that when I can but now realise that the dryer is a really handy thing.

  12. Rant rant rant away!!! Do you give Lacey an earful too while you're walking. That's the perfect place to let off steam, away from other walkers in case you need to scream lol
    Bloody neighbours.

I do agree with Marie in relation to communal living and rules and regulations. It is certainly not for all people. It would not be for me. You have always expressed your feelings on your blog and it is your absolute right too but I was quite taken back with you suggesting that as your neighbours are ‘old as’ they will ‘pop off’ before you and Stew. Will that make you happier? 🀷‍♀️ You seem to be very very angry still that they were nasty to you. Are they still making complaints or was it a one off? I’m sure your neighbours are loved by people just as you are. It is a privilege to grow old and no one is guaranteed about tomorrow. I hope things work out for you and Stew in your new village living.

    1. This move has been a learning experience, we were not 100% aware of some of the 'rules'. Nor were we made aware of them. There's been more than one COMPLAINT about us. By more than one neighbour. It has been quite upsetting. I do not wish anyone dead, that comment about them popping off before us was tongue in cheek. Surely you knew that?

I’m so sorry your move has had its problems. I’m sure you’ll both settle in soon. You’ve done the move for specific lifestyle changes for you both so I hope you can focus on those and try to look forward to your happy future πŸ’•. You’ve both worked so hard to reap the rewards awaiting you. I didn’t really get the tongue in cheek vibe lol especially wth the uppercase typing 😝. I don’t think karma is what it’s made out to be. Just my opinion. Have a lovely evening
