Whelp, my plans for today are to make a couple more scrappy dolls. Different colour bibs today.
The flooring company are coming back to finally lay the flooring. Goodness knows when they will actually turn up.
The reno guy is also coming today to do the final little things, then he can sign off this job.
I picked up me distance/driving glasses yesterday, about to go out in the car. And bugger me!
ABOVE: They just up and broke clean in half! No reason, no crack, just fell apart! I was a bit surprised. So, once things are done here, I'll pop out to see how long it will take to get some more. I sure in hell can't wear them like that. Looks a bit... precarious. There is a hair salon here in the village. The hair dresser comes in three times a week. I'm going to wander down and ask her what she would charge to colour me hair. Last time I got a quote from a hair salon it was $310. Ain't NO WAY IN HELL I would ever pay that much. So, let's wait and see what she quotes.
The flooring guy arrived nice and early, and he's just left. It's now 11.30 am. I've been working in the garage, and have got two more scrappy dolls on the go. I expect to finish them after lunch.
ABOVE: Before and After. All that we are waiting for now is the cabinet to go in the left hand corner, and it will be 100% done. The Reno guy will be here sometime today to put the door back on and the little metal strip to hold down the carpet edge, then BOOM! DONE DONE DONE.
ABOVE: I still have not found replacement handles for the vanity, but I will eventually. I am so happy with our new bathroom. Well worth the effort and wait.
I'm now taking a break, and will make myself something for lunch.
I have not had a chance to get down to the hair salon yet, it might not even happen today. I'm just too busy.
Plotting my next move. Or should I say, purchase?
We are going to Auckland again on Sunday, to try and find THE rug for the lounge. This time we are going with very precise measurements. That should help.
Right now I'm measuring out and marking where the new lounge suite will go/fit.
From there, I can work out what size rug to get.
J the guy from the renovation company is due here in half an hour, to do the final finishing touches to the bathroom.
I've also not had a chance to ring Spec Savers to sort out me glasses either. *sigh*
ABOVE: And it is now 2 pm, the reno guy hasn't been yet. I just finished these extra two Scrappy Dolls. I wish now I'd given one the 'pissed as a chook' mouth! Next time I'm making them, I will do one like that.
I'm now taking a break, before getting everything ready for market tomorrow.
Making sure it's all at the front of the garage, to be put in the car.
Village life is... challenging. The Manager just visited us AGAIN. Seems Stew has been parking in the 'VISITOR PARKING' area. Which is a no no. Some neighbours have fucking complained.
WTF is wrong with them? Like, there's virtually no visitors around here. But, the Manager has given us a park to use (call it ours he said) down by the bowling green. So, we are sorted. It just means one or other of us has a bit of a walk home when we park down there. At least we do have an additional park.
Now, I'm going to get the market stuff sorted out.
The bathroom is totally finished. I gave the reno guy a round table topper for his round dining room table, he was very happy.
ABOVE: Coco waiting for Stew. HOW THE HELL DOES SHE KNOW it's 'that time'? Stew walked in the door a few minutes later. Remember, she can't hear his car arriving either. Weird.
Time to pack the car for tomorrow.
Then I can relax for the evening.
It's bloody freezing.
I am going to freeze at market tomorrow.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Make sure she knows that if her price is reasonable you would be going to her regularly. Otherwise a box from the store it is....
ReplyDeleteDuck tape and label ties and those glasses will be good as new lol π

Nice, nice, nice!! Congrats on a job well planned out and executed. I know you must be thrilled to bits! Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteDid you get a price as yet? bear in mind some hairdressers are not coulourists ( if that is even a word haha) Margaret
ReplyDeleteWhat about spray painting the handles black?
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation !!
ReplyDeleteThe Bathroom is Stunning
Loving all the Black accessories.
You’ve made it your own personalities π―π️
So another box ticked
☕️
Enjoy your day at the markets tomorrow.
Cheers π₯
I love the new dolls with the different coloured bibs. Just had ro take my glasses back cause the lens keeps coming out of the frame. Has to be sent back to Australia so I have to find my old ones to wear. Hope market goes well tomorrow and weather is kind to you. Kj
ReplyDeleteThe new bathroom is a 100% improvement on the old. In Australia that would be quite reasonable for a cut and colour. Some of my friends are paying $500-$600 each visit. I have let my hair go gray.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh yes partaking in the visitors parks I had exactly the same, I used to arrive home in the dark leave sometimes in the dark no one in the village knew when and if
ReplyDeleteI lived there or not, ask him the manager to put an announcement in the village newsletter stating as such!
Fuckin knowalls!
Bathroom looks very nice. So cute. I avoid Specsavers at all costs! Just saying, you get what you pay for unfortunately π€·♀️
ReplyDeleteI am now of the opinion that the management is the problem.
ReplyDeleteThey should have told you up front - absolutely no sheds.
If you needed an extra parking spot, they should have told you where to park (you asked about your trailer, it should have probably come up then).
By letting it get to the point that others complain, and then telling you others are complaining, is setting you up to focus on the neighbors. The manager should be proactively giving you information from the start.
We have new neighbors. They have not yet figured out that their front lights need to be on all night. I am giving them a week and then saying something. But I will just tell them. Probably they have accidentally flipped off a switch on a timer and do not know it.
Vickie
Vickie is right - You should have been made aware of this stuff BEFORE you moved in. But, I am still reeling over the fact that she is required to keep her front light on all night! DO YOU need to keep your lights on / or off? Who makes me these rules? I could not do it.... It just reminds me of the Florida woman that got eaten by an alligator walking her dog in her backyard because her HOA didn't allow her to walk her dog in her own front yard. The HOA knew about said alligator - they were supposed to remove them at 3 feet long but this one was a giant monster.
DeleteI just love your bathroom, that mighty shower unit, so roomy and so aesthetically pleasing. Lovely colours
ReplyDeleteAs for your glasses... WTF. They sure didn't last long
And another WTF for the busy bodies. Some people need to get a life, or at least a hobby besides curtain tweaking
The bathroom turned out gorgeous. The dolls came out nice. Hope the market is profitable this weekend.
