The day I've been waiting for ... my bathroom gets some colour. Did I tell you what colour I chose?
MIGHT BE PALE BLUE. Like seriously, is anyone even surprised? 😂😄😉
ABOVE: I'm sure you are all sick to death of seeing my freakin 'almost' bathroom! But tough titties... I like documenting the progress. That's how it looked when the painter left yesterday. Give it a few hours and we might have another photo... with COLOUR!
That dark thing on the wall is a set-in-the-wall cupboard, and it has two mirrored doors that go on the front. Very old fashioned, but we love it. They are so handy above the vanity.
So what am I doing today, besides watching the painter do his thing?
Five eighths of F all really. I can hardly move in the house right now, which is really frustrating. I need to get sewing asap, I have Scrappy Doll orders for the next Tamahere Market. Luckily, it's still two weeks away, so I should be able to get some made in another week or so.... ONCE the sheds are assembled, and all that shed shit is out of my sewing space. Here's hoping Stew can get them made Saturday or Sunday.
At the pub last night, I commented on a friend's GORGEOUS LONG FINGERNAILS. She told me she takes Centrum Women 50+, and Berrocca every day, and she attributes that to having strong nails and hair that grows fast.
Well my hair grows fast, but me nails are hopeless. Soft and crack at the slightest knock. So I'm gunna go and get me some Centrum and Berrocca.
And that is my grand plan for ... a couple of hours at least.
Catch ya later.
8.45 am: waiting for the painter to arrive, so I can let him in. Then I can go out and about. Waiting......
And the man arrived, and I can now hear him rolling on the paint. I am not going to look until it's finished.
I spent some time tidying up and covering up things out the back, so they don't get wet.
ABOVE: it's a bit of a bugger having NOWHERE to store all the taller things now our shed is gone. But oh well, up against our brick wall will have to suffice. Shame it doesn't look as nice as our lovely wood shed.
ABOVE: I am now sorting out all my mosaic tiles and glass domes... they were starting to be a right mess in the bottom of me mosaic box. And the only place I have to do it? On top of boxes. 😖😕😒
I am backtracking on getting those supplements for now. I'm worried I will overdose myself with Magnesium or something else. I already take a Multi-Vitamin and Magnesium daily. I will ask my Doctor next time I see him if I should take anything else.
Better safe than sorry.
Lacy and Keera called in to visit. We ended up going to Chartwell Square for a wander and lunch.
It was super busy there, but Lacy coped so well and didn't have an anxiety attack.
ABOVE: Lacy in her hi-vis sweater. Can't miss her in a crowd.Once we arrived home, the painter had finished in the bathroom. He had to put three coats of the blue on, as it is so light in colour, the sealer was showing through.
ABOVE: I am very pleased with it, I didn't want a bright/loud blue in such a little room. Once the white vanity and shower are in, and the black accents as well, I think it will all come together nicely. The girls have gone home now, and it's back to just me and Coco. We now have 3 days off having people here doing stuff.
We had a huge downpour this afternoon... so glad we have cancelled attending the Morrinsville Market tomorrow.
We can just enjoy the weekend, doing odd jobs instead.
Someone here commented on good quality multi vitamins and magnesium when you were talking about this long ago (a year or more I think).
ReplyDeleteI improved the quality of my multis and added magnesium at that time. BIG difference in my nails.
I keep my nails short. But one had been splitting. They are now very good.
I enjoy all your project photos. I love a good project.
Vickie
I want to caution everyone from taking multivitamins and basically any drug like that before talking to your doctor. I have a friend who was taking too much Vitamin D3 (unknown to her) and thankfully the doctor caught it during her annual blood workup appt. Too much magnesium, potassium, Vit D3, etc can be dangerous. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteI get mine from the pharmacy, behind the counter, not the regular store, even though they are over the counter type vitamins.
DeleteTwo reasons -
Vitamins behind the counter/thru the pharmacy staff are certified.
And it is all on my record with the rest of my meds at the pharmacy. The computer has safe guards. And all vitamins are on my med list on my doctor’s computer system.
Vickie
Sounds like you are doing it the correct way, Vickie. Good job!! Ky Girl
DeleteI should try it too. I love seeing your bathroom come to life and blue will ɓe beautiful. So pleased you've chosen a colour other than white. Enjoy your day. Kj
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you are on Ompeprazole (Losec) but if so you need vitamin B12 and it must be a certain type to absorb properly. I use "Good Health B Activated B12 120 Tablets" from Chemist Warehouse ($15.99 for 4 months supply). Since doing this my nails have completely changed from ridged and breaking to smooth and strong. It is the ONLY change I have made so I know that's what has helped.
ReplyDeleteI agree too I take just zinc and b6 and magnesium a healtheries brand, and collagen and turmeric.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the progress photos I wish my days were insane busy, just 4 months of until I’m back!
ReplyDeleteOh and iron with vit c (since 15 yrs old), I don’t absorb iron had jaundice again at 15 (at birth to).
ReplyDeleteHi, is having enough protein in your diet is what helps with nail and hair growth and lots of other things....it is not good to have extra vitamins that you body does not need.... Peta
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to speak with your doctor first before taking any supplements. I agree with Peta regarding protein in your diet. The good old pyramid of eating really is the bible of eating and good health. Stress alone, as you would know, has huge effects on your health and let’s face it, your life is vey stressful a lot of the time unfortunately. Have a good weekend (hopefully stress free 💕🤞)
ReplyDeleteGood idea to wait until you speak to the GP re supplements. As I don't absorb stuff like I should I need something for my hair, skin and nails too. You could try collagen. I myself have a Nutrimetics powder I've just started, but I also take a product called Silica Q for my nails. Without it they are virtually non existent, but with it they are long. Snap at the drop of a hat, but they are long(ish). Better than without, where they split, crack and the nail lifts from the nail bed. Ugh. Good luck! xx Colleen
ReplyDeleteSheesh do I need to stab you 16 times?? Vaseline Hand and Nail Cream, not going to tell you again 😂 GM 💙💙
ReplyDeleteNo that didn't work for me. Trust me I tried all the advice but the B12 seems to have done the trick. I know that Hand and Nail Cream has worked well for my sister in law though.
DeleteLOL GM, I shall consider myself told then. YES BOSS.
DeleteOh hell I forgot vitamin D, prebiotic and probiotic with apple cider vinegar (combined). I know when I haven’t taken the activated turmeric my joints ache the iron vit c I can’t get away from but if I miss a day or two my body tells me. The collagen certainly helped with hair nails, is it worth it, to me yes placebo or not I know my own body and if I haven’t taken them.
ReplyDeleteI’m 57 but genuinely get told I look around 44-47 it helps I don’t smoke or drink. I get 6 month check ups religiously as family history diabetes, my blood and tests are excellent bp excellent so I’ll continue my path.
The blue looks awesome! Very you xo
ReplyDeleteLove the colour
ReplyDeleteHasn’t the painter done a wonderful job and saved you so much time. Would you consider asking he do the rest of the house so you don’t have to do it.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to do the rest of the house as it doesn't involve sealing etc. And there's no time constraints.. I can do it slowly.
DeleteThe colour looks beautiful. Cant wait to see the finished reno.
