On Wednesday afternoon I ordered two plain purple sweatshirts online. (blanktees.co.nz)
The arrived less than 24 hours later! Amazing service.
I am going to wear them on FBG walks when it's bloody cold.
And now... I am making them 'mine'.
ABOVE: Once the first one is finished, I shall show you. I'm hoping it looks OK.
ABOVE: Last night, once it was cool, I planted the two new little ground cover plants we got for by the letterbox. I also put a paver there, one that's not heavily 'decorated'... I think it looks nice there.
Stew's surgeon is visiting him around 11 am this morning. Depending on how that goes, Stew could be coming home today. I am going up at around 10 am, so I'm there for when the surgeon arrives. All indications from yesterday suggest he will be coming home today.
ONWARD...
12.30 pm.
And he has been discharged.
ABOVE: Getting in and out of the car was difficult, luckily he won't need to do that again for about a week.
I've told him not to expect that again. ππ
ABOVE: now he's safely ensconced in his chair with a cuppa tea and food, I'm popping out to the supermarket for the fresh fruit etc.
He has his phone handy in case he needs help... but I think he will be just fine. He has Coco.
2.40 pm: And PHEW! I'm knackered. I did a rather big grocery shop, picked up Stew's prescription, came home and unloaded it all, then grabbed some lunch for myself.
I think we have enough food in the house to last us a month, at least!
7.25 pm, and we've had a quiet afternoon, as expected. I looked after 'the man', made sure he had everything he needed, then had a nap. I needed it.
My head is pounding... should really take a chill pill.
That's us for the day, we shall be off to bed at a decent time tonight.
Hoping Stew gets some sleep, and me too.
We are going to try sleeping in the same bed for now. If it doesn't work out, for whatever reason, I'll move into the spare bedroom for a while.
Let's just wait and see how we go tonight.
Catch ya tomorrow.

I suspect Stew will be coming home - just in time for LUNCH. You could pick up your favorite take out food . However that Hospital Food looked really tasty!
ReplyDeleteIm sure he will. He's made great progress. You better have some 5 star baking in the tins lol. Kj
ReplyDeleteQuarter past 11 hope surgeon has good results and you're heading home. I guess you will be doing the Saturday groceries this weekend Chris.
ReplyDeleteI am certain Stew will be going home with you today - just looking for the official update.
ReplyDeleteHey great news for you both.
ReplyDeleteHope he can keep on top of the pain cos each day he’ll get stronger and feel 100% very soon
Love the cake idea ππ
You did well .
Cheers π₯
Glad things are going well!
ReplyDeleteThe bee paver is lovely! You could likely sell versions of them at your annual neighborhood craft event.

ReplyDeleteIn the car it would help if Stew sits on a plastic garbage bag (bin liner). It makes it much easier to swivel the hips and butt. Definitely helped me!!
ReplyDeleteLol Chris, you did it. That lunch wins hands down. Congratulations Stew. Only have to recover and do the exercises. Hard work but you'll do it. Kj
ReplyDeleteCoco- what's wrong with my Dad? I never seen him in long white socks before!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo glad you're home dad x. Fingers crossed you survive the next few weeks lolπ€.
ReplyDeleteYay and now to recovery coco like umm wtf!
ReplyDeleteHi Nurse Chris, I hope your patient is doing well and the painkillers are doing their thing. If you have not already done so, I suggest making up the spare bed for one of you in case he had trouble getting comfortable and sleeping at night so that at least one of you can move so you are not both overtired π₯°
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Hope the pain is bearable and he can start moving around more easily.
ReplyDeleteOops sorry it’s not a cake π° Just enlarged it ,and it’s a beautiful club sandwich !,,lol
ReplyDeleteIt was the lovely decoration that threw me π₯ππ
So happy for you all ,it’s been a very busy few weeks, aye?.so now time for R&R
