This is the second 'round' of it I've been on, having stopped taking it after three months (the injections got to me), having a break then going back on it.
First thing I've now noticed... it 'works' for about two months, then the appetite suppressant component wears off.
I'm at that point again now. It is frustrating, as I really NEED that suppressant component. It suppresses your portion capacity as well, which is bloody fantastic.
I know I should be able to lose weight without any drugs, I've done it before. But, I'm broken from being on and off a diet for literally my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE! I need that help.
So, because Trulicity has stopped working again, I'm going to do what worked (inadvertently) last time... and stop taking it for a month. Let my body take a break from it, then go back on it.
That way, I'm hoping the full effects kick in again, and it stops me feeling hungry all the time.
I will take Metformin in the meantime for my diabetes, having talked with my Dr about it. He's fine with me doing this btw. Whatever works for me is fine with him.
I'm not exactly looking forward to the Metformin, but needs must.
I am going to work very hard on my WILL POWER helping over the next month. I'm sooooo close to another 'big' goal... and hope to attain it in a couple of weeks time.
Right, boring weight/diet twaddle over, back to today.
We bought 'something' yesterday, If YOU can guess what, I'll gift you a runner, or two bowl cosys. I will keep posting this, until someone gets it right.
ABOVE: I forgot to take the butt ugly Elf to market on Saturday, so Lacy adopted it. She's welcome to it.

Oh, good. I'm happy that the ugly elf has found a home. I'm sure Lacy will get a kick out of it.
ReplyDeleteI hope your new plan works for you. I know it must be so frustrating for you and I wish you well. Maybe eat an apple in-betwen meals. That and some almonds. Keep a handful of almonds in your pocket and nosh on one or two every now and then. That and an apple should help you to feel full versus empty.
ReplyDeleteIs your new purchase remodeling your guest bath? Ky Girl
NOPE, try again. We also do not have a guest bathroom.
DeleteI think Lacy and the elf are a good fit. The elf even looks happier. ;-) Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteNew washer and dryer? Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteNOPE, try again.
DeleteI got it....you're going on a cruise! Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteNOPE, try again. I don't think I could do a cruise, can't bear the thought of being 'inside' a ship. Got TITANIC nerves. lol
DeleteOMG, you would LOVE a cruise!!!!! Get a balcony cabin so you are not 'inside'. The only trouble with cruising is that it's addictive... we are off on another Mediterranean cruise next year. Oh, guesses... something to exercise on? exercycle etc?
DeleteTotally not sure about that, could I fish off the side? I'd love that then.
DeleteA smaller BBQ, like a weber or similar - Margaret
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking about that, but no, that's not what we bought. Try again.
DeleteUmmmmm, you got an Air fryer?
ReplyDeleteAshlee Melbourne
My Samsung Duel Oven is also an air fryer, so nope. Try again.
DeleteA new mattress ? Peta
ReplyDeleteNOPE, try again.
DeleteAlso being overweight or obese is now considered a medical condition and the new weight loss medications are there to help people...they is no such thing as you should be able to do it yourself...people get medications for many conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol control, giving up smoking etc etc...all these conditions could also easily be put down to "being able to make changes yourself without medications, but are not..as they could also be controlled with lowering weight etc..so you taking the Trulicity not only helps with weight control but puts your diabetes in a normal range which is fantastic for people with diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes is a "silent killer"....Ozempic 1mg helps with the glucose control but does not help with weight loss as the dose is too low...Wegovey(same drug) is given at a higher dose and does help with weight loss but I think Mounjaro is the better drug as it has two active medications that help...some of these drugs as very expensive and once stopped the weight can go back on but they are designed for long term use, maybe even lifelong. Peta
ReplyDeleteA new TV?
ReplyDeleteNOPE, try again.
DeleteI think I already said this: a screen door for the front door, or for the patio, or for the door leading into the garage from the house. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteGod loves a trier... and you are trying very hard! NOPE, try again.
DeleteI am seriously trying very hard and its hard not to give up. But I am stubborn. Haha. Ky Girl
DeleteLOL!
DeleteOk - last try...maybe...did you buy a little motor boat to go finishing in?
ReplyDeleteOr did you buy a vacation for over the holidays while Stew is off work?
Ky Girl
No to both, though I like how you think.
DeleteJewelry?
ReplyDeleteA highchair for Lily?
Nope, try again! Lily has a highchair, I don't think she's ever been in it.
DeleteI like the drawstring bags.
ReplyDeleteGolf cart for the community or paths
ReplyDeleteVickie
Nope, though one day I expect we will get one. When we are REALLY old. lol
DeleteBack to the boring weightloss chit chat... is trulicity subsidised or do you have to pay $$$ ?
ReplyDeleteThe reason I ask is have you considered Wegovy ? I believe that costs just under $500 for 4 weeks if you get it from The Chemist Warehouse, cheaper than Life Pharamcy
I get Trulicity for free. I will ask about other options next time I see my Dr. I might qualify for a subsidy on one of the alternatives. I would balk at paying that much for any medication that wasn't 'life saving'.
DeleteNew phones?
ReplyDeleteLong arm quilting machine?
Security camera system ?
New tree ?
Bench for the front ?
Large outdoor fan for backyard ?
Vickie
Nice list! But sadly, NONE of them. And like, where on earth would I put a long arm quilting machine??? the only place with a 'gap' big enough for one would be the lounge, and that would ruin the look!
DeleteLaughing as I typed that btw.
DeleteI was not thinking a 12’ one.
DeleteI was thinking the smaller sit down style.
Vickie
I didn't know you could get smaller ones! Hmmmm..... yeah nah. I quilt as I go.
Deletean artwork of your town?
ReplyDeleteNope, waiting for an artist friend of ours to do one.... been waiting a while now!
DeleteA Ninja Creamy, to make ice cream and sorbets?
ReplyDeleteDo we need ice cream or sorbets? Stew says 'Shit yes', but no. We don't need one, so NOPE. Try again! lol
DeleteMy guess is a britto x 🤔.
ReplyDeleteNah, running outta room in the cabinet for more! But... I'm sure I could squeeze a special one or two more in! lol See you soon our darling DIL.
Delete😘
DeleteCaravan🤷♀️
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE one, but Stew says NO. So nope. Try again.
DeleteHeavens, your readers know you well. Some terrific ideas there. But no no no. The mind boggles. I'm useless at guessing stuff. Put me out of my misery. Please!!!
ReplyDeleteSomeone is bound to get it tomorrow, after I put a clue up! lol
DeleteDid you buy another elf?
ReplyDeleteHell NO! ONCE bitten, twice shy. Plus I have noooooo room!
