TRYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH TRULICITY

As most of you are aware, I've been doing bi-weekly injections of Trulicity.  It's a diabetes/appetite suppressant drug.

This is the second 'round' of it I've been on, having stopped taking it after three months (the injections got to me), having a break then going back on it.

First thing I've now noticed... it 'works' for about two months, then the appetite suppressant component wears off.

I'm at that point again now.  It is frustrating, as I really NEED that suppressant component.  It suppresses your portion capacity as well, which is bloody fantastic.

I know I should be able to lose weight without any drugs, I've done it before.  But, I'm broken from being on and off a diet for literally my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE!  I need that help.

So, because Trulicity has stopped working again, I'm going to do what worked (inadvertently) last time... and stop taking it for a month.  Let my body take a break from it, then go back on it.

That way, I'm hoping the full effects kick in again, and it stops me feeling hungry all the time.

I will take Metformin in the meantime for my diabetes, having talked with my Dr about it.  He's fine with me doing this btw.  Whatever works for me is fine with him.

I'm not exactly looking forward to the Metformin, but needs must.

I am going to work very hard on my WILL POWER helping over the next month.  I'm sooooo close to another 'big' goal... and hope to attain it in a couple of weeks time.

Right, boring weight/diet twaddle over, back to today.

We bought 'something' yesterday, If YOU can guess what, I'll gift you a runner, or two bowl cosys.  I will keep posting this, until someone gets it right.

ABOVE:  I forgot to take the butt ugly Elf to market on Saturday, so Lacy adopted it.  She's welcome to it.
I'm going to Craft Group again this afternoon, so will be getting all my bits 'n' bobs ready to take.
I will be making another Wave Runner in greens and blues, as 'M' from Australia bought the one I finished recently.

11.36 am:  and I've spent the morning getting washing done and out on the line, and making these:

ABOVE:  Fabric bags for holding market products and stuff.  I have been meaning to make them for bloody ages.  It will make packing all the market stuff in the car much easier than boxes.  We will now only have one big box for the bowl cosy's, which do need to be in a box to help hold their shape.
Now I am about to have an early lunch, before packing stuff up and going down to Craft Group.
Catch ya later.

Right, it's now 3.25 pm, and I've just arrived home from Craft Group.  I got a good start on another Wave Runner.  It is another super hot day, with virtually NO wind, making it feel even hotter than it is.
As I was walking home, pulling my trolley, I passed a neighbour watering her gardens.  So I stopped and asked her to 'water' me... she happily sprayed my legs till I cooled down!  Nice lady.
Now I've got me feet up, fan on, just relaxing.
I've been busy all day and need a break.
Tomorrow I will give you all a clue to what we bought.  Cos clearly no one is going to guess it. 😂
9.22pm:  signing off for the day, happy it's over.  Toooo hot again.  At least now it has cooled down.
Catch ya tomorrow.

  1. Oh, good. I'm happy that the ugly elf has found a home. I'm sure Lacy will get a kick out of it.

I hope your new plan works for you. I know it must be so frustrating for you and I wish you well. Maybe eat an apple in-betwen meals. That and some almonds. Keep a handful of almonds in your pocket and nosh on one or two every now and then. That and an apple should help you to feel full versus empty.

    2. OMG, you would LOVE a cruise!!!!! Get a balcony cabin so you are not 'inside'. The only trouble with cruising is that it's addictive... we are off on another Mediterranean cruise next year. Oh, guesses... something to exercise on? exercycle etc?

    3. Totally not sure about that, could I fish off the side? I'd love that then.

Also being overweight or obese is now considered a medical condition and the new weight loss medications are there to help people...they is no such thing as you should be able to do it yourself...people get medications for many conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol control, giving up smoking etc etc...all these conditions could also easily be put down to "being able to make changes yourself without medications, but are not..as they could also be controlled with lowering weight etc..so you taking the Trulicity not only helps with weight control but puts your diabetes in a normal range which is fantastic for people with diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes is a "silent killer"....Ozempic 1mg helps with the glucose control but does not help with weight loss as the dose is too low...Wegovey(same drug) is given at a higher dose and does help with weight loss but I think Mounjaro is the better drug as it has two active medications that help...some of these drugs as very expensive and once stopped the weight can go back on but they are designed for long term use, maybe even lifelong. 15. Back to the boring weightloss chit chat... is trulicity subsidised or do you have to pay $$$ ?

The reason I ask is have you considered Wegovy ? I believe that costs just under $500 for 4 weeks if you get it from The Chemist Warehouse, cheaper than Life Pharamcy

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I get Trulicity for free. I will ask about other options next time I see my Dr. I might qualify for a subsidy on one of the alternatives. I would balk at paying that much for any medication that wasn't 'life saving'.

    1. Nice list! But sadly, NONE of them. And like, where on earth would I put a long arm quilting machine??? the only place with a 'gap' big enough for one would be the lounge, and that would ruin the look!
