SEMI REST DAY

 

Good morning... from someone who has had a wonderful sleep in today.

We have been so busy the last few days, we are taking a bit of a break today.

Staying here in the motel until lunchtime, then heading over to Rowena and Aliesha's.

Today is my sister's first birthday in heaven, she would have been 68 today.

I am buying a birthday cake and some birthday type snacks to take out to the kids house for dinner.

We are having KFC plus the cake etc, as Lorraine loved KFC.

Those are the only plans for the day ... we are pretty much shopped out, day tripped out etc.

ABOVE:  There is a Christmas kiosk in the Hyperdome, where a lady makes and sells Christmas decorations and dolls.

I fell in love with one of her lady elves.  So yesterday, while in the mall, we asked her to make us one.  All her Christmas dolls are 'one offs', and unique.  Our new Christmas 'friend' will arrive in time for Christmas all going well.

11.04 am, we went to Brown Plains Grand Plaza mid morning.  

ABOVE: WHOOPS we did it again... shopping is such fun. We are now having lunch before getting cake etc.

1.35 pm, Aussy Time.  OMG it is sooooo hot!  We have been out and about, shopping, picking up flowers, cakes and sweets etc.

We are now taking a couple of hours to just sit in the air conditioned comfort of our motel unit, until we go out to Rowena's for dinner.

ABOVE:  We had to take diet coke out of the fridge to fit in cake and flowers!  Sacrilege. 😂😅😉

8.15 Aussy time.  We are just back from spending the evening at Rowena's, formerly my sister's home.

We made a garden in Lorraine's memory, and we had KFC and birthday cake for her too.

ABOVE:  Lorraine talked of having a pretty garden here, but didn't get the chance to do it.

So Rowena wanted to do it today.

ABOVE:  Everyone did some of the work, and planted a flower.

ABOVE:  I decorated a 'drip cake' with cupcakes and lollies.  It looked really nice.

ABOVE:  I think Joyce was keen on having the first bite, but I beat her to it.  lol

ABOVE:  Rowena modelling her new dress.  So pretty!

Some friends of Aleisha's came over in their buggy and gave us a ride!  It was SCARY!  I videoed it, and will put it on tomorrow's post.

For now... it's bedtime, cos we are tired old farts.
