Do you remember the weird looking, seemingly dead-ish looking tree we have by our garage wall?
ABOVE: I'm happy to say it is not dead, and has sprung to life. It's still a fairly ugly tree, but not as bad now it has some leaves. I'd be tempted to decorate it at Christmas time, but dare not.
Neighbours. Less said.
ABOVE: Lacy owned this little red car for exactly ONE DAY! Then she sold it on, as she knew it wasn't for her.
ABOVE: My additional 'weapon' against Coco scratching and gnawing herself! My Nerf Gun works exceptionally well.
ABOVE: Such a lovely day, Coco and I decided to walk to visit Bex and Lily. It was just under half an hour's walk, so once we walk home again we will have had our daily exercise.
ABOVE: On our walk home, I swung by our previous home. I was sure Coco would walk straight into the driveway and head up to the house.
ABOVE: Lacy owned this little red car for exactly ONE DAY! Then she sold it on, as she knew it wasn't for her.
Too much work needed doing on it, and parts for it are expensive.
She will now STOP being so impulsive, and save up for a decent car.

I only have to shoot her a few times and she stops scratching.
Or she slinks off out of my sight to scratch, which I don't mind as much as her scratching right under my nose.
Luckily for her, the 'bullets' don't hurt, just startle her.
EDIT: We have had Coco for 15 and a half years. We KNOW what works for her, we have tried various medications for the itching over many visits to the Vet.
The only thing that worked at all was Steroids.
Anyone who knows anything about dogs will tell you, long term use of steroids in a dog can lead to many health issues, worse than the scratching. It can also lead to an early death.
How I choose to care for my dog is MY business.
I don't come into your home and tell you what to do/how to do it, so stop.
I'm going to work on a runner today, and once it is finished, I have another project lined up in Crabby Quarters (aka : the sewing 'room').

ABOVE: Miss Lily marching through the house with a bag on her head. She is so damn funny, and kept us entertained.
Which is, of course, a damn good way for a little kid to be.
ABOVE: On our walk home, I swung by our previous home. I was sure Coco would walk straight into the driveway and head up to the house.
But NO! She actually walked right past the driveway.
I was shocked. Then thought, yeah, she's getting old.
She hopped, skipped and jumped all the way to Bex's, which is just over 2 kms, but on the way home?
Nope. She kept fairly close to me, and at one point I thought she might need to be carried. But she made it.
ABOVE: The little apricot tree we planted out the front 3 years ago is going crazy again this year. It is FULL to the gunnels with fruit, I don't know how they will all grow on such a little tree.
I might go past again in a month and see how it's doing.
And in fact, I might buy one for here, cos they were delicious.
I'm sure I'll be 'allowed' to plant one too.
I've just had me lunch, which was veges in gravy for a change. And now? I might just sit and relax for a while. Put Netflix on...
*sigh*
that is all.... or not. I will not be publishing any more comments re: The bag.
I've discovered Online Jigsaws again (Thanks Khady!), and OMG so much more fun that 'real' ones.
No worries about where to set it up, putting it away when littlies visit etc. I might become hooked on them again. 😖😊😉
Right, I'm happily watching Coronation Street, just finished a puzzle and feel cross eyed. lol
Time to sign off for the day, catch ya tomorrow.

My son has a naughty kitty named Marcel. We suggested getting a squirt bottle for the misbehavior. Well. MARCY LOVES THE SQUIRT BOTTLE and will run into the stream of water and try to bite and play with it.... HAHA. The nerf gun is a funny idea.
ReplyDeleteConsult the housing rule book about lights. I assume there is a 1st and last day you can have them up and possibly hours too. If you want them - just check the "book".
Two comments sorry... first, if Coco has a problem with itching then take her back to the vet to sort out (my daughter's dog has this issue and is fine on raw meat diet only). I think it's awful to shoot at such a loyal, loving dog. Second... never, ever, laugh at or encourage a kid with a bag over their head. Sure you were there but next time it could be a plastic bag and no adult around. It has to be said - kids need to know from an early age about this kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteSeriously linda hahaha im not bloody stupid !!!! Seriously 🤦♀️
DeleteSo many pc people out there i actually laughed out loud at that one.
Bex
I agree with Linda about the plastic bag....
DeleteWell said Bex. I don’t know how Chris managed to raise 8 kids to adult hood🤣🤣🤣
DeleteYou do understand that our small ginger thing is just enjoying wearing her fancy hat, that is all. She loves wearing one of my hats, but as its oversized and covers some of her face, should we teach her that it identifies as a bag?
DeleteThat bag has less of a chance of suffocating her then your know it all attitude, so please refrain from the unnecessary lectures.
We understand the risks of promoting dangerous behavior in children, but I can assure you our daughter is perfectly safe with us, we certainly wont teach her about self asphyxiation until she is atleast 8, maybe 9 if she isn't very bright.
❤️
DeleteThe apricot tree looks like a good producer. We planted one last year and it has a few on it. I just hope they don’t drop. Our peach has a few but it has curly leaf rather badly unfortunately
ReplyDeleteAdding my two bobs worth and agreeing with Lynda on both counts, no need for me to enlarge. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteOf course you'll agree Marie cause your so perfect aye. 🤦♀️😂😂
DeleteBex
Ohhhh I love apricots, a favourite fruit of mine. Have a tree here, but this year and last year possums have eaten most of the spurs on the tree so unfortunately very few apricots this year.
ReplyDeleteOops, blogger keeps changing me to Anonymous, this is me ☺️
DeleteSorry I’m not anonymous, it’s me ☺️
DeleteTiptoe -ing into the Coco itch issue- if steroids work for her, and give her ( and you!) some relief from the itching, then the short to medium gains might be worth the potential long term chances of side effects. Maybe she could have a short course and be weaned off to a small dose to give relief?
ReplyDeleteMy dad suffered incredibly with gout in both his hands and had no quality of life. The drug of choice wasn’t recommended for people with kidney issues, which he had. He decided that the immediate relief of his pain was more important to him than potential kidney complications later, at 82, he just wanted comfort. He died 18 months later, not due to his kidneys, but without gout. Coco’s a similar vintage… 🙂
I will consider it, as she is being driven nuts from grass seeds and pollen right now.
DeleteGreat to see you out walking and enjoying the day - Coco would have loved it too. Bonus having a visit with gorgeous Lily and Bec and a good pit stop for you and Coco to recharge for the walk home. I’d be interested in the jigsaw app name if you were willing to share it. Sounds fabulous. Enjoy the rest of your day. PS: I think you were cheeky posting about Lily and her hat bag lol you would have been expecting the onslaught of criticism 😝😝😝😝😝
ReplyDeleteTheJigsawPuzzles.com YES, I did think the bag would get some comments ... but she was so damn cute!
DeleteGood lord I too wish to be perfect and oh so pious. Kids will be kids and I’m sure Chris raising 8 kids and 2 extras, Bec and her 3 have enough parental nous to supervise.
ReplyDeleteI let my son light fires with matches in the fire place at 2, at 3 he was at my hip in the kitchen cutting vegetables with
Knives, filling water in pots stirring sauces helping make his beloved grandad cups of tea all under heavy supervision and he funnily enough is today a great cook. AND lived.
Ím with you Blondie. Both Grandma and Mum were watchíng her. You wouldn't fínd better carers anywhere. I wish péople like you would keep their opínions to themselves and not hurt others.
DeleteHow's your shoulder going Chris?
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking. It is slowly improving, though I don't know if that's due to the anti inflammatory medication, or healing.
DeleteYour garden is looking so green and healthy. The mischevious me would buy a short chain of plain solar lights to feed through that tree at Christmas time ... not tacky - just a simple sparkling effect. Lily is such a gorgeous wee girl - I love the joy that she brings to your family.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy online jigsaw in winter and no bits fall on the floor either, miss lily is such a precious girl
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice walk! That poor tree in your yard looks like the top got lopped off at some point lol
