The other day, a friend on here (nicrunninggirl) suggested a 'cross body bag' would look good with my denim dress. I am going to investigate that idea.
A few reasons.
1. I have been using the exact same handbag for over 28 years! It's a black, back pack type bag. I tend to carry far too much in it, making it very heavy on my back and shoulders. I am wondering if that is contributing to my sore Back/Shoulder/Arm?
2. I kinda like the idea of a smaller handbag, one that only holds the bare minimum stuff. Wallet, lippy, phone and keys.
3. I am not a fan of red (sorry Nic), but I do like the idea of a pretty light or bright blue handbag! Maybe even PINK, or both?
So, that is on me list of things to shop for today.
SHOPPING... yep, I'm gunna do it again.
I AM A SELF CONFESSED SHOPPOHOLIC, and I don't care who thinks that's bad. I might add, STEW doesn't mind at all. He likes shopping too.
Before that, Stew shall be doing a grocery shop. Not very exciting... but necessary. I might just stay home while he does that. 😂😊
Stew goes back to work tomorrow and will need supplies for his work lunches. He always takes to work a salad and steak, or sausages, or chops. That is his 'main' meal of the day usually.
I have a similar lunch at home.
And that is it for now, catch ya later.
I only every have/use a cross body bag. It's black and it's small and holds phone, keys, glasses and tissues. Another advantage is ease of finding your phone and ability to leave it on all the time which is good for security in supermarkets etc. I do need a new one though.... unlike you though, I hate shopping and hardly ever go near shops so might look online.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, so after suffering from shoulder pain my chiropractor told me to never wear a bag off my shoulder, to have a long strap and wear it across my body from my right shoulder but sits on my left hip so my body is carrying the weight of the bag
ReplyDeleteGood suggestion.
DeleteI also use a crossbody bag, black, phone, keys, glasses, also have a Country Road one which is black leather on one side, turn it over for light coloured straw. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteYes, I have lots of little cross body bags...I have a bad back and neck from being a nurse...I leave other things in the car if I need to get use anything when out...I have lots in a brand called Camomaggi..with lots of bling on them...I also have a really good one from Strand bags..with a couple of different areas....Evity is the brand from Strand bags it has a weave pattern....so handy....Peta
ReplyDeleteWow you sure got your moneys worth having the same bag for 28 years! I love crossbody bags, have one in every colour lol
ReplyDeleteI use a crossbody bag all the time. I have two from Bagellini; large and small with RFID blocking technology. Vera Bradley, a fabric designer from the United States, has beautiful designs that you may be able to find on Amazon, or whatever Amazon-like provider you may have. My shoulder is also ruined due to carrying bags that were too heavy.
ReplyDeleteI love cross body bags, they’re so many funky straps designs my fav Marc jacobs, but zjoosh do sparkles and bring a true magpie that’s me.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day shopping.
I use a very small crossbody that holds my phone and cash/cards. My key fob is hooked to the strap (no keys). I have one house key in a very tiny envelope with my cash/cards. It opens all doors.

I love cross body bags. Means you have your hands free, takes the pressure off one shoulder & does not slip off the shoulder all the time 😂
ReplyDeleteI keep my bag super light. I don't carry a wallet, just a tiny zip purse with a few cards in it which I attach with one of those extendable keyholder things so it's always attached to my bag and never risk losing it or having it stolen. I've done this since overseas travel. When I've travelled to Europe I have an anti theft cross bag that can't be cut with a knife or unzipped easily.
ReplyDeleteThat's not what I had in mind for a cross body bag. I thought you meant a more ergonomic bag.
ReplyDeleteIDK... I hate purses, and bras, and shoes with laces, and clothes that are tight, or heavy.....
I am such a minimalist - I truly use a leather hip bag, with a wallet, phone and keys in it.
I did look at much smaller ones, but decided on these two as I could fit in my 'bare essentials'.
DeleteI have been wearing a cross body bag for the past few years, and I will never go back now. I have a small nylon fold up bag inside it, so if I buy anything I can use that.
ReplyDeleteLove the bags! And agree that they are great size. You don’t one too small as you want to be able to fit everything inside (and then you won’t use them). The pink one will look great with the denim dress
ReplyDeleteThey look great. Thats all i use too and you can still fit heaps of crap in it 🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteI only use a small cross body bag when travelling to hold my phone, cards, keys, tissues etc. It’s so convenient when travelling when you need both hands free. I’m not a fan of how they look across my body separating my boobs and cutting my body in half lol and find it ruins a nice outfit 💓 just me I really don’t ever cart around anything I don’t need, so my handbags are not heavy and nice and small
