This morning I am off to Cambridge for an FBG walk. Only the 2nd or third this year!
I have promised myself I'll do the entire Challenge next year, which means 40 walks spread over 6 or so months.
This year I've had too much on to even contemplate doing it. But, I'll get another one under my belt before the Challenge is over for this year.
ABOVE: I got several new pairs of earrings for my birthday. Archer chose these ones, they have sand and tiny shells inside them. He knows his Grandma well eh? ππI am sure I forgot to report my Weigh In results from last night.
I LOST 2 KILOS over the last three weeks, and after going on holiday as well. I am very pleased with that result. My total loss (this time around) is 10.4 kilos, in eight weeks. I am totally on track to reach my goal by Christmas, which was to lose 15 kilos.
NOW I have to work hard to not have a gain next week, after all the shit I ate last night! Exercise and portion control should keep me from a gain. (fingers crossed)
And with that in mind, I'm off to get started on my day, and get over to Cambridge for that walk.
I almost cancelled my walk this morning! I woke up, got up and threw up!
Last night's dinner did NOT agree with my tummy at all. I tossed and turned all night long. Grrrr.
But, I'm happy to say it's now 8.20 am, and I'm feeling good enough to go.
I've done the housework and even weeded a garden.
ABOVE: I did quite a big 'tweak' in the lounge yesterday. I don't know if Stew noticed or not, but can you?
I'll leave you with that to ponder, I'm now off to Cambridge.
12 noon. Home from an awesome walk with my FBG friends.
I wore my very old walking sneakers.
ABOVE: About 2/3rds of the way around the walk... I started getting a blister under one of me toes. NOT fun. Those sneakers got biffed in the bin at the coffee shop! So now I'll need to get some new ones. What a shame... more shopping! π
ABOVE: The walk photo, such fun getting to do this again. I giggle every time I choose what face is going on each person. I try to 'match' them up... some of them really suit the person.
ABOVE: Today's walk stats. I'm relieved it wasn't any longer as it was getting bloody hot, and my toe was starting to really hurt. And I'm NOT very fit right now. I hope to get in the pool more now that it's not so cold at night... getting out of the pool and walking home in the cold was a bit off putting.
Now, before I bugger off and have some lunch, what did I tweak yesterday?
THE RUG in the lounge. I turned it around so it's running length ways in the room instead of width ways. I actually think, now that we've had it the other way for a while, I prefer it length ways.
Do you agree? Or no?
It's funny how, for the past two months, I've known the rug wasn't in the 'right' position. My gut kept telling me to turn it around. I'm glad I listened. I'm much happier with it now.
7.15 pm. We just attended our first 'Roast Dinner' here at the village. Our meal was complimentary, all 'newbies' get a free meal when they arrive.
It was Roast Beef, veges and gravy. Followed by Apple and Blueberry crumble with cream.
It was OK.
We got to yak with the other 6 people at our table, so that was good. Found out a bit more about the village and it's activities.
Slowly making head 'n' tail out of it.
Now, we are home. Feet are up. Painkillers are on board cos my BSA is killing me.
I've worked out that sitting in upright chairs is a killer for me! I need to be more relaxed to be comfortable.
Note to self... stay off upright chairs. ππ
And that's me for the day. Catch ya tomorrow.
Oh my... you are so energetic! Just puts me to shame. I am sooooo not into walking. Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteTurned the rug again and started purging end tables ?
ReplyDeleteVickie
Yes to the rug, no to tables. Well done on your observations though.
DeleteHave you swapped coΓΊches around? Kj
ReplyDeleteI prefer it lengthwise as well but I thought you put it the other way round so that it wasn't walked on all the time. Oh well, happy tweaking. Audrey
ReplyDeleteI did put it the other was originally to keep it from being walked on... but hell! It's a rug...meant for walking on right? I just stopped being so precious about it. I much prefer it lengthways.
DeleteI agree with the others lengthwise is great.
DeleteYour walking is a great inspiration for us all here
Enjoy your afternoon
Cheers π₯
I picked the rug direction change, it gives the illusion that the room is longer
ReplyDeleteBUT...is it an 'illusion' or did the room grow??? I'm going with the growing thing. lol
DeleteSorry it’s an illusion πa bit like painting the top half of you walls dark makes them appear shorter and painting them lighter makes them appear higher
DeleteLOL... I was 'tongue in cheek' when I suggested it wasn't an illusion chick!

DeleteGlad u enjoyed your walk bugger about blisters..I NEED to get some fitness back. So unfit so unwell. Good on you Chris
ReplyDeleteI like the rug in the other direction. To me, in the latest direction shown above, the rug sits cattywampus to the couch. But to each their own. Ky Girl
ReplyDelete'cattywampus'... OK, I've never heard that word before!!!
DeleteIt means askew, not in the right position...off kilter....etc. ;-). Ky Girl
DeleteI think summer this way for rug entertainment change it so damp or wet marks aren't walked across it. I hope you find some better walking shoes.
ReplyDeleteMeant to say on the winter not entertainment.
DeleteCongratulations, you're putting in the hard work and have a healthy glow :)
ReplyDeleteI potter around the home when i'm cleaning and move little things here all the time. It's what makes you feel good in your space.
Won't it be lovely with summer on the way soon. I'm sure you'll enjoy the pool most days soon.
I noticed the rug. I am no interior decorator. I think it looks fine either way.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear you went for a FBG walk. It has been a while.
I started a new exercise 3 days ago. I have not been exercising or stretching at all. Well , aside from pickleball.
My hubby found something called "Radio Taiso". It is a 3 minute exercise routine set to some cheerful piano music that they have been playing on the radio in Japan for more than 100 years. Millions of people get together in neighborhoods, villages, schools, and at work to do this 3 minute routine every day. I figured I couldn't go wrong with that! I have now completed 3 days. AND... it has motivated me to start yoga up again. So.... I am off to yet another start. But I do hope that I can do Radio Taiso at least every single day for the rest of my life. 3 minutes. I should be able to manage that! In Japan - you can even get attendance books and get it stamped every time you do it! I actually tried to find one - but it is one of the very rare things that has stumped my google searches! I am silly. I need a star in a book to keep me on track!
I forgot to say congrats on the weight loss. You are doing very well.
