First, how about our opinion of last night's dinner and show at Dracula's?
It was goddam HORRIBLE.
We were supposed to be 'scared' on entering, and went on a two minute 'ghost train' ride, with the usual fake dead mummies, scary ghouls etc on the walls making noises... it was just so pathetic!
ABOVE: It wouldn't have scared a 5 year old.
Cheap, tacky, bad taste, the 'show' was not cohesive, there was very little to redeem it in fact. One girl was a good singer, the band was good, and one girl did an amazing aerial routine. The rest was fucking awful.
I would NOT recommend it to anyone.
Stew and Rowena 100% agreed with me on every point.
We walked out well before it ended. I would have left earlier, but we had paid for a meal, so intended to get what we paid for.
The meal was PASSABLE. But only just.
And that about wraps it up.
Moving on to today, Rowena is picking us up, and we are catching a train into the city.
We have booked a three hour lunch cruise on the Brisbane River.
I am really looking forward to that. Surely it will be wonderful?
After the lunch cruise, we might go to the botanic gardens on scooters, or just move on to the Ferris Wheel.
And that is our plans for the day.
Catch ya later.
ABOVE: 8.44 am Aussy time, ready for the day. I do have sunglasses. And I will get a hat or peak that fits over my hair today.
OMG, of course Draculas is cheap and tacky. That is why people go! It pays to go with a few drinks inside you first! Hopefully today will be better for you.
ReplyDeleteHaving never been to one before, I did not know that. I thought it would at least be professional! It wasn't. There was an incident right before we entered the venue that upset us, and I think that tarred the entire evening. I am not going into details of said incident, it's over with.
DeleteSorry that the show was an absolute let down(flop). Hoping the rest of your ventures around are much more enjoyable, At least you are having fun at the Mall's & Surfers Market.
ReplyDeleteAnd get some sunglasses, that sun is so bad for your eyes. Marie
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes!! How can you even be outside without your sunglasses? We literally live in ours winter and summer due to the harsh sun. My eye doctor told me to never be without them.
DeleteI buy sunglasses at David Jones, they sell Cancer Council glasses, some are polarised, very cheap, around $30-50, cheaper if on sale. Marie
ReplyDeleteI was surprised when you said you were going to Dracula’s. Even though it’s advertised as ‘adult’ entertainment I’d suggest it’s targeted at the younger demographic - schoolies, hen’s nights, buck’s night that type of thing. As Lynda said, people are usually fuelled with alcohol to ‘enjoy it’. Nevertheless it’s a highly popular and long standing tourist attraction. I understand your disappointment. I could not recommend Outback Spectacular highly enough for a wonderful experience. Look it up, I’m sure you’d 100% enjoy it. It’s amazing. Worth every cent. Hope you have a wonderful day today to make up for your disappointment last night 😢
ReplyDeleteDraculas have been on the Gold Coast for 40 years. We went 21 years ago and still have memories and souvenirs of a great night. Looking forward to going back one day
DeleteYour eyebrows are looking great. Glad things are going pretty well. I would likely not like the Dracula thing either.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your outings.
Bummer about Dracula.
ReplyDeleteToday's plans sound perfect. My kind of day. I love boat rides and ferris wheels. Scooters too for that matter!
Put your hair in a ponytail and poke it out the back of your new cap xx Colleen
ReplyDeleteI love your earrings. Thinking I might get my holes redone and start collecting a few pair. Something to make me feel good. Just wonderíng if I can get away with wearing one if I can see double pmsl kj.
ReplyDeleteA sum up of today’s photos and adventures

ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day. A picture is worth 1,000 words - don't worry about the captions.
