Yesterday was probably one of the worst days I've had with the pain in my back/shoulder and arm.
Because we are heading back to Australia in 12 days, I think it would be prudent for me to see my Dr again. Even if he can only give me something else for the pain, I'd be happy.
ABOVE: My pie from last night. It needed an extra long time to cook, but once done is was really delicious. I was so proud of the pastry I made. I will probably make my own from now on.My Trulicity jab last night hurt a little bit, just stingy... nothing I can't put up with, considering how well it is controlling my appetite. I literally can't wait for my next 3 monthly Hba1c blood test! I'm hoping/expecting a really good drop in my blood sugar levels.
Going to twice weekly jabs was the trick ... once a week didn't work so well.
It still takes will power not to eat the 'wrong' food, so I'm not giving all the credit to the drug.
Hump Day, and I am not sure what I will do today. I got so tired with the constant pain yesterday, I'm praying it doesn't happen again today. So, no expectations on myself today.
I will certainly drive down to my Dr's office first thing this morning and make an appointment. It is the quickest and easiest way to make an appointment, you just get the run around when you ring the call centre.
ABOVE: That is me.... soooo me.
BLONDIE: I'm not sure. My shoulder and arm have been sore for months, the back bit only kicked in a couple of weeks ago, so that might be a muscle teaked?
Don't know.
I didn't end up getting a Drs appointment. Two reasons.
1. Our Dr is away for a month, and I don't really want to see anyone else. I've finally found the combination of Tramadol and Panadol that seems to work, so I'll wait to see L when he gets back, if there's been no improvement.
2. Two young ladies got pissy with me when I did a U turn down a side street, seems I shouldn't have turned into THEIR driveway? So they actually FOLLOWED me into the Drs! They got very mouthy, so I just went up to the counter and stood there until they left.
It was a very unpleasant, slightly scary experience.
After that, I went over to the Base and got these:
ABOVE: A nice, cheap rolling pin, and two 'portion controlling' plates that I loved when I saw them. They are perfectly imperfect in shape. And blue, can't forget that. LOL I've got quite a lot of that particular design/colour in our cupboards now. I seem to keep adding to it.
And now I'm home, and heating up some left over pie for my lunch. Later on I'm going to the Village AGM, probably for the first and last time. I know it will be boring, but I want to go to ONE at least, so I know what I'm missing in coming years. 😂😅😊
5.45 pm: And I am happy to report that the AGM went well. It helped that I knew two people on the Board and could yak to them after the meeting. And also a few residents that I've come to know. I didn't feel totally out of it at all.
There was a very generous drink and nibble get together after the meeting too. Lots of wines and lovely nibbles. I had none. I didn't even feel deprived.
L from the craft group took me aside and showed me where I can set up our gazebo for the village fair in November. I'm happy to say I have a very generous area to set up in! And it's inside, so weather will not be an issue.
Stew just arrived home, so I better get off here and spend some time with him.
9.24 pm, and we've had a lovely evening, just chilling out watching the telly. I've got Coronation Street to watch next, then off to bed.
Catch ya tomorrow.
I like your Onward picture! Hope you can get a Dr appt!
ReplyDeleteLove your pie, I bet it was delicious
ReplyDeleteDo you think you could have torn a muscle?
ReplyDeleteWe have such a glorious day here blue skies light wind.
I am hoping it is not rotator cuff . . .

If you can get on the committee it's a good way of knowing who's who in the zoo. You don't have to do anything but you get to attend all the meetings and listen to self important people mouth off but it is a great way to have a say in things before others do.
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteSilly of me to suggest ice packs, yesterday - my excuse is that I live in the literal frozen north, must have rotted my brain!
Chris since retiring i have got this bad shoulder , scans X-rays have shown a Bursitis shoulder oh my goodness !
ReplyDeletePain is so bad specially at night I have tried everything except cortisone ejections something I’m holding back on, l feel your pain nothing is worse than pain you can’t control Robyn x
I get cortisone in my knees works a treat...holding off until early November cause going on holiday ten and would like as least pain as I can manage
DeleteHave you tried a physio or chiropractor for your shoulder? It might alleviate the pain a bit til the adr comes back.
ReplyDeleteAGM?
ReplyDeleteAnnual General Meeting, where the village management inform everyone of the financial status of the village. Upcoming improvements planned etc.
DeleteI would go every year that you live there. Just take handwork so you can stay sane (and hide your facial expressions). Annual meetings in a community are really important.

I find physiotherapists great , have you been to one
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't. I am waiting for the ultrasound, to know what the problem is first. I don't want anyone dicking around with my shoulder/back without knowing what is wrong.
DeleteMy husband has a bad shoulder this year and has been seeing the physio and had dry needling, has made a HUGE difference and has avoided the need for surgery, worth a try?
ReplyDeleteReally hope you can find a way to get rid of the pain!! I hadn't heard of tramadol till my brother visited this summer. Sounds like the way to go! Strong stuff and you need that sometimes
ReplyDeleteI had a scary "follower" years ago. I had my 4 year old son in the car. My street is on a curve onto a little two lane highway. I pulled out and a car came around the curve. It was going fast so it had to slow down for a second. This infuriated the driver. They proceeded to tailgate me with their high beams on for 4 miles to the 4 lane highway. I thought "Phew, they can pass me now and be gone". But no... They continued to tailgate me with their high beams on. They lowered the high beams for any oncoming traffic and then put them back on me - so I knew this was intentional. I drove 10 miles to town with them still following me. Then they followed when I exited. And every turn I made. I got scared and called my husband. He told me to drive to the police station. He called the police ahead of time and told them I was coming and the person was still following me. By the time I got there I was in a panic. He followed me all the way to the police station. There was a cop outside waiting. I layed on my horn. The cop flagged the driver down but he sped off. They got his plate number. I filed a complaint. Not sure what happened after that. It was years ago. I do know they went to their house though. The police gave my young son a plastic badge and some goodies while we were in the police station. People are scary.
ReplyDeleteI just love the plates! The color & shapes are beautiful.
