CAMBRIDGE THIS EVENING

Today?
No plans as such.
I might go looking for a dress.
We will see.
I need to do a little grocery shop.
I've got card night in Cambridge this evening, so need to sort out a small plate.
Some sewing might be on the cards as well.
Or at least get things lined up to do a run of 2-3 runners.
So there ya go, my day is not exactly planned out, but there's a loose agenda.
WHAT are you doing?  Dogstars, I hope you have a good day on set.

ONWARD...
For a change... I read the Village Social Calendar this morning, and saw there was a function on to Support The Heart Foundation, here in the village.
So, I'm going.
You are supposed to wear something red if possible...

ABOVE:  I have only one thing in my entire wardrobe that is red, and that's a thick winter jacket that was my Mum's.  I can't wear that today, it's way too hot.
So then I remembered this dress.  It has a bit of red on it... it will do.
I'm off to play ladies....  I say play, cos I ain't no lady!  😂😅😆
Well, I get down to the Community Centre and queue up to buy raffle tickets.  I tell those around me I've only ever won one thing in my entire life, which was a dreadful 'toilet doll', you know, those things you can put a roll of toilet paper under the dress?  IYKYK 😂😅😉
Anyway, morning tea was very nice, and so was the company.  I was seated with about 10 other ladies/men and we had some lovely conversations.
Time comes to draw the raffle, I go to get my tickets out of my bag, then say "Why am I bothering?  I never win anything!"
Guess what?
I WON!  Everyone roared with laughter, having heard me JUST say I never win anything!
It was such a freaky moment I tell ya.  And now we have this:

ABOVE:  That's one lunch I don't have to cook while Stew's home recovering from his operation.  Awesome.

The Card Night in Cambridge this evening has been cancelled, so I'm home tonight.  Nice, I don't have to sort out a plate to take now.
It is so hot outside at the moment, I'm happy to just stay in and leave the groceries for much later... maybe after 8 pm, when it's not so hot.

ABOVE:  Thanks Sandra C, these are so good!  You can find them on Facebook.

9.45 pm, patiently waiting for Coronation Street to start, then I'll be off to bed.
Catch ya tomorrow.

  2. Hubby calls buying raffle tickets “ making a donation “. He won a Christmas raffle which was a Christmas wall hanging and a Flying Doctors numbered teddy bear. Both got resonated lol

  4. Great prize and even better a midday meal you don't have to cook...I get so sick of cooking and thinking what to have another fun aspect of being an adult

  6. Todays set tome was 10:30 to 10:30. Just got home, hubby had hot food waiting for me! It was a PROP HEAVY DAY - I will send you a pic of the dinner set!
We should sew a clothing item. You and Me. And anyone else who wants to "learn to sew clothes" We both (or all) make the same item from 1000's of miles apart. What should we make? That Linen shirt, or dress, or whatever, you had a pic of the other day made me think - that would be easy to sew - especially for you! Unless you want to make t-shirt pants with me! haha

  7. We could get a pattern online - so that we all have the same one. This could be FUN-NZIES!

    1. Bloody hell woman, don't you have enough to do already? I have thought of making a simple dress... no buttonholes or zips, though I can do zips now! Collars are a right shit too, so no collar.

    2. OMG. What am I doing? I copied and pasted that shirt into google and added "sewing pattern" - and it gave me this - Shall we make this dress? https://www.sewdiy.com/blog/2019/9/diy-navy-crinkle-cocoon-dress-lou-box-dress-1

    3. Looks like an easy enough dress! I say yes. Let's see who else will join in. I'll post about it tomorrow sometime.

    4. Yeah - For NOW.... I have enough to do. But once this film ends. It ends abruptly. I will NEED a project! I want to be able to sew. It sounds like fun. But I want to sew clothes. Preferably, baggy, loose, one size fits most, type things.

    5. That dress looks simple enough. I don’t think you would have to do the back opening as the head opening looks big enough that it isn’t necessary

  8. ok - so simple dress?
