We are really annoyed and pissed off with what's happening with our shed. It has to be reduced in height to appease one neighbour. A husband and wife.
Management here are doing it ... and shouldering the costs, as this fiasco was caused in part by us, and in part by them.
I felt like moving here was a major mistake, and the happiness I was starting to feel about our new little home was gone.
But, as Stew has said to me, let's NOT let 'them' ruin the enjoyment we shall get from living here. Lets NOT let them know in any way how much they have upset us.
We shall just totally ignore them, and get on with settling in here, and getting to know all the other lovely people who live here.
Now, the only thing I have to work out is where to put our Pig Weather Vane! It can't be on the roof, or in anyone's 'face'. So that's something I'd like to work on today.
We are also going out to find some new garden plants.
When we moved in, there were two areas in the garden that had been freshly planted with hedge plants. I asked for them to be removed, and they did it immediately. I am going to replace them with pretty shrubs of our choosing.
Later on this afternoon we have a lady coming to talk to us about our 'lives', for our Village Profiles. I don't think telling her I'm a CRABBY TART will cut it somehow. 😂😉😏
Catch ya later.
Can almost guarantee that it's not overheight by much and they're just being arseholes. Stew is right but it still will leave a sour taste in your mouth. GM 💙💙
ReplyDeleteSurprised you didn't read the rules before you moved in
ReplyDeleteWe did. There was NO INFORMATION on shed restrictions. Nor did management inform us of any restrictions. Surprised you thought we were ignorant.
DeleteIt just amazes me that anyone could be offended by the sight of a shed roof. Very petty, and extremely unfriendly.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry they did not have very specific placement/height rules. I agree with what you thought, it barely showed over the fence. I would be upset too. (You are not alone, sheds cause lots of issues.)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter’s neighbor filed a formal complaint against her, with the city, for the way the subdivision had graded her lot two years before she bought the lot and built her house. It was a bit of a mess to straighten out. After all was done - She does exactly what you are doing, she ignores them 100%.

You can't paint it to make it blend in with the surroundings? Reducing the height sounds ridiculous, nieghbours sound like a pair of sooky whingers. Bet they find something else to complain about
ReplyDeleteEvery possible solution was explored and shot down in flames. Chopping our shed up was the only one they would entertain. Short of total removal.
DeleteMmmm!! I would be feeling very annoyed and upset just like you over such a petty matter. I guess Stew is right in what he says but it still takes the shine off what you thought was going to be a great lifestyle for you. There"s always someone who spoils it.
ReplyDeleteChris - when you see them out and about in the complex...kill them with kindness and move on. Like Stew says...don't let them know how upset you are and don't talk about it to other owners...the talk will get back to them and then they win again. Just get it fixed and move on. As I know you both will. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteEasier said than done.
DeleteWe can do anything we put our minds too. Also...THAT FACE...OMG!! I love it! Ky Girl
DeleteOh Chris. You've moved in near the Village Idiots!! What a load of croc. How does it spoil their view or are they just nosey? Is it legal since they did not advise you beforehand?? Stew is always sensible. He gave me good advice at work many times but I do love your face lol. Sorry but I'm feeling pissed off for you. Kj
ReplyDeleteOh well there loss just think of the lovely people you have met already. You don’t need these sad and negative people to talk too.
