I DID THINK ABOUT IT

DOGSTARS made a comment yesterday about my rusty bits, and how I could have re-homed them.

Yes, I did consider that, but at the end of the day I just didn't have the energy or heart to try and re-home or sell them.

I just wanted them gone asap.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Same is probably going to happen to a few garden pots too.... if no one wants them I will put them out on the front grass verge for free.

Lacy, come over today, I have some gardens pots you can have.

We have an Open Home this afternoon... so it's the usual weekend day.  Make the house presentable.  Get out while the Open is on.

Then relax.

Catch ya later.

Lacy's last guinea pig passed away sadly, after three days of battling his injuries.
I just sold the guinea pig hutch on Marketplace.  No more guinea pigs.
She can now concentrate on her little kitty, Sylvie.

Stew and Keera have gone to the supermarket.  I'm about to start washing the guttering and downpipes... cos hey! Seems they were one of the reasons our house sale fell through!

SERIOUSLY.

The single biggest thing I have to do is paint 80%  of the soffits.  They are 'dirty' as well.  I mean for fucks sake!!!  It's a 30 year old house.  It's not going to look like a brand spanking new home is it?

I'm still fuming about it, and while I've felt like crying a few times, I haven't.  Staying stoic.  Optimistic.  Hopeful.

ABOVE:  Keera pointing to the SOFFIT, which I will be painting this coming week.   We luckily don't have to repaint all the soffit, just the snail trailed parts.  lol  edit:  I double checked, and we are going to paint all the soffits.  Can't do one part without showing up the rest.
Did you know snail trails DO NOT come off, even with a good scrub?  Yeah.  Bastard snails.

I got that entire length of guttering cleaned today.  Good job done.

Another NO SHOW day!  It is so disappointing when you go to all that effort, for nothing.
Next weekend we are only having one Open Home, stuff doing two in a row again.

I am beyond understanding why this home has not sold yet!  Seems just our lousy luck.  5 out of our 7 homes have taken bloody ages to sell.

After the Open Home, we went shopping.  Found some clothes/togs for Keera, another 2 drink bottles, one for Stew and a spare for me.  Then on to the shoe shops, where I finally found some lovely, dressy sandals to wear at the wedding next weekend.

I think I am going to just chill out now, and try not to feel too depressed.  Lucky there's no jelly beans in the pantry.

ABOVE:  Matchy matchy.  They are the nicest drink 'bottles' we have ever used.

Keera just enjoyed a dip in the pool, Stew and I are just too tired to be bothered.  We are going out for dinner, probably McDonalds.  What kid doesn't enjoy friggin McD's?

ABOVE: How can someone so small eat:  two burgers, large fries, a McFlurry and a large coke???
I could only manage one burger, 3 McNuggets and a few fries.

Bottomless, growing pit obviously.

Home now, and it's going to be a quiet evening in front of the telly, as per usual.
Catch ya tomorrow.

So sorry, Lacy and Keera, to hear about Chocolate. He tried so hard to survive but it wasn't meant to be. Enjoy Sylvie. Audrey

First time ever I’ve heard the word soffit. Reckon in Australia we call them eaves, eg. Jandals/thongs. Those “buyers” definitely had second thoughts and have opted out via the builders report, poor form. Marie, Melbourne

Did Lacy take the guinea pig to the vet? antibiotics might have helped....you will have the best presented house for sale in the suburb! house sales are slow here in Australia at the moment...it is a buyers market....maybe it is the same in New Zealand? Peta

I feel so frustrated for you. There is no way something being dirty would have been raised in a building inspection here when we purchased (Aus). The focus was on the actual building and the “small” things that were raised when we bought (eg, gas meter not attached to a frame) were not grounds for cancelling a contract - it was more alerting the buyer to things that should look at doing. Those “buyers” clearly changed their mind and wanted out given they didn’t even allow you the time to remedy such small “issues”. I hope more appreciative buyers come along soon. As you said, the previous ones did not deserve your home. Liz

  8. The work to sell the house is never ending. It boggles my mind. No one here would even think of the stuff you have to prepare and paint. You damn well hold on, get every dollar you can
    You deserve it .
Meantime it's so fantastic having loving grandkids, specially when they go shopping with you. And don't they just eat a lot!! No leftovers
And lovely summer weddings! Yours are so relaxed. You looked fantastic

  10. Moves are really hard, especially as we get older. I know that there must be a special home waiting for you, but it's not on the market yet, so the timing of your sale is just going to take a little longer. When I look back, I always can see that things happen in the right time for the right reason. On the plus side - you get to enjoy the pool over the summer longer!
