I know it's Tuesday today, but it feels like the start of the week.
So... let's have an amazing week OK?
Stew is less than enthused, he has to return to work. Poor bugger.
I have a girlfriend from Cambridge visiting me this morning, I'm really looking forward to it.
After Christine has been, I am going to go through the market stock, and re-arrange what's in each bag etc. I am going to cut down how much we put out on the racks from now on.
We always try to put out HEAPS, and it backfires, because then people have TOO MUCH CHOICE! (yes, it can happen)
Yesterday we had one lady ummm and ahhhh over three similar Runners for bloody ages. Then she bought one, but came back half an hour later to change it for one of the others!
It made no difference to our sale, but it was like... clearly we give you too much choice!
So cutting down what is on show might be a good idea. I'm gunna give it a go for the next market and see how it goes.
And that is me for now... catch ya later.
1.42 pm, and my first update of the day. Bit later than usual I must say.But in my defence, I've been a bit busy.
My friend arrived, and we had a very nice visit. So lovely to see someone from Cambridge.
After she left, I carried on sorting out runners/market arrangement.
ABOVE: I have lost count of the number of times I've set up the 'market layout' in my garage! This time it took just as long as every other time.
But, I think I've got it sorted, with what will go where next time.
I've certainly paired it down ... and I'm happy with it. Even Christine said it looks better with less, you can see what's there much easier with less on the racks.
YES, we will take spare with us, and just keep it in the car.
ABOVE: Sometime last year we bought a couple of plants from a market, and put them in this garden. They died off, but are now coming back up. I am dying to see what they were, cos I can't remember. Stew noticed them coming up the other day, otherwise I might not have even noticed them.
So, I've not actually finished in the garage yet, been taking a lunch break. I think I'll leave it until Stew gets home, to get his opinion on the set up.
Stew arrived home at 6 pm. At 6.20 pm we got a call from our Estate Agent ... someone wanted to view the house at 7.30 THIS EVENING.
And that is why I keep the house 'viewing ready' ALL. THE. TIME.
It took us 20 minutes to get the last minute things done, a batch of cookies in the oven and ready to leave.
They arrived half an hour early! PHEW... lucky we are damn good at this shit.
Oven off, jumped in the car and took off down the road while they spent half an hour viewing the house.
Probably come to nothing... but ya never know.
Meanwhile, I had to turn the oven back on to finish off the cookies as they were not 100% done.
ABOVE: Anyone want some cookies? Cos we don't need them! 😋😂😊
10.08 pm: Well, it wasn't that much of a 'lazy day' after all that. But at least I wasn't bored.
Time to finish watching Coronation Street, then head off to bed.
Catch ya tomorrow.
I started the day squeezing Jethro into the vet. He started limping this weekend. Always, always - dogs get sick/hurt on the weekend. Turns out he has 2 tick born diseases and an ear infection. He has to take 120 antibiotic pills over the next month. 4 a day!
ReplyDeleteHugs and complete healing wishes for Jethro.
DeleteI agree. Too much choice is a minus. How many times I have been like that woman and eventually gone back and changed something.
ReplyDeleteHope your Tuesday is going well.
Ours hasn't begun yet 😀
Maybe put less out but keep excess in car?
ReplyDeleteExpected temperature today 39!
Ive just got some yarn and crochet hook from spotlight and gonna give crochet a go...nothing as amazing as the talent of Bex but I do recall she was also self taught. Mum has gone back to bed not feeling so wonderful today so the quiet might be good time to start although I've had 2 call up the hall already so perhaps not. Who knew Peggy squares are called granny squares
ReplyDeleteSuppose to help relieve stress wouldnt that be wonderful!!!
I think that sounds good to limit choices. I am amazed at how much you bring to the sales. I have never seen anyone around here with so much choice. But they are not as talented as you are either. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI’m definitely a less is more person in everything
ReplyDeleteThat plant looks like Seymour in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. ;-) Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteThe Plants name is Audrey II....not Seymour. Sorry, I had a brain fart. ;-)
DeleteLittle Shop of Horrors
Delete(Not Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Vickie
Yes, the one with Steve Martin. Thnx for the assist. Ky Girl
DeleteI like the new set up. Maybe less is more. I hope the viewers buy. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI've done that the last few shows, just put out 1 or 2 of a print instead of all of them
