HEADBOARD

THIS MORNING OUR NEW HEADBOARD IS ARRIVING.  And I still have not painted behind our bed.  I had hoped to have it done before the headboard arrived.  But oh well, it's not a big problem in the grand scheme of things.

The Gib Stop man is coming back after lunch to do a second coat of plaster.  Then I presume tomorrow he will come and sand it all.  After that, I can paint the room.

So, it looks like we won't have a functioning bathroom until next week at the earliest.  It isn't too bad not having a bathroom, but only due to being able to use the community centre here for our showers.

This morning I am going to put poly filla in the holes in our bedroom wall, and the lounge.  First step in re-painting the interior of the house.

ABOVE: The village maintenance men wasted no time in starting to take the shed apart!

They got the roof off late yesterday, and are coming back today to take the rest apart.  They are going to use it in their 'workshop' area, and are very happy to have it.

I'm just relieved the damn shed saga is over, and we can move on from it.

Right, I'm getting up and heading out to the mall.  I need to pick up me prescription and a few bits 'n' bobs.

Oh dear, another day where I forgot to update earlier.
So, I went out and managed to get my prescription, and some Hold Backs for the curtains.
I couldn't believe how expensive they were!

ABOVE:  I got the last 4 sets at Spotlight.  I would have liked 4 black sets, but oh well.  I will get Stew to instal them on the weekend.

On my way home, I called in to visit with Bex and the kids.  It's school holidays, so the boys were home.

ABOVE:  I cannot believe how spoilt Marley is!  There she is, all wrapped up in a baby blanket, on Archer's lap.

The gib stop man arrived early, so I had to hot foot it home earlier than expected.
He's now done for the day, coming back tomorrow to sand it all.
Dang, I just remembered I need to buy some new paint brushes.  I'll do that tomorrow I think.
I have people here taking the shed apart...

ABOVE: And there ya go, the Village now has a beautiful wooden shed.
And in a few days our new Keter sheds will arrive, and most of the shed stuff can get the hell out of my 'sewing room', AKA the garage. 😌😊

ABOVE:  my ever changing view in the lounge.  *sigh*
Is the end in sight?  I bloody hope so.
It is now 2.10 pm, and I feel wrung out.  There's a few 'things' going on in the background that I'm not going to talk about on here... just know my stress levels are almost maxed out.
I can't wait until all that's going on is over.
I had several months with not ONE headache.
Now?
Had one every day for about a week.
At least the shed issue is DONE and OVER WITH.

EMPTY IT

ANOTHER MONDAY ROLLS AROUND, and it's the last one for June.

This month has flown by, can't think why.  😂

Lacy is coming around this morning to give me a hand emptying the shed.

We will be putting everything in the garage until we get the new Keter sheds.  Which I ordered yesterday.

I have ordered two, exactly the same as our first one.  They will 'do' for storing most of our outdoor stuff.  It just means Stew can't actually get inside a shed to do odd jobs.  He'll have to do that in the garage.

It has been a huge learning curve working out how to fit everything into this much smaller home.  I am still struggling to get my head around it to be honest.  It's difficult imagining it ever working, but in time I'm sure it will.

I keep reminding myself of the big list of POSITIVES, as opposed to the small list of NEGATIVES.

Moving on, I will get up shortly and await the arrival of the Bathroom Renovation guys, Lacy and Keera.

If I can, I will patch the wall behind our bed, and get that wall painted tomorrow.  It will be a start on all the painting I want to get done around here.

First priority will be the bathroom, then ONE wall at a time in the rest of the house.

Catch ya later.

ABOVE:  The spare bedroom ... I wonder if any of that bathroom stuff will end up in the bathroom today?  The answer to that is NO. The guys have been, put up the rest of the gib board, and now the gib stopper man is here doing the gib stopping.

ABOVE: The shower tray got glued down today.

ABOVE:  What a difference!  After the gib board is ready, I will be painting that room.  That is likely to be late Wednesday, or even Thursday.
I'll ask the gib stopper man when exactly.

ABOVE: Lacy, Keera and I emptied the shed.  That's completely clogged up this side and end of the garage.

ABOVE:  BUT, we managed to keep this side free, so I can (maybe) do some sewing in a few days time.
Lacy and Keera have now left, so have the builders.  It's just me and the gib stopper now.
I am going to look at working on the few places around here that need plastering up, holes made by removing light fittings etc.

I saw this little video on Facebook, where someone was making a mince roll.  So that's what I have been doing the last hour or so.  It's basically mince flattened out, with cooked onions, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, seasonings and so on layered on top, then rolled up in tin foil and baked.  I hope it comes out ok.

As of now, we no longer own the wood shed.  We have ordered two new Keter sheds, they should be here in the next few days.
The gib stopper has finished for today, he will be back tomorrow afternoon to put a second coat on.
Then we wait for it to be dry before I can do the painting.  Might be the end of the week even.
Well I didn't do any plastering.  I was feeling a bit off after lunch, might be the constant smell of glue and gib stopping stuff?  The gib stopper has left a heater on in the bathroom to help dry the gib... so the house reeks of glue and stuff.
Plus I'm still tired, every day I just feel tired.

7.45 pm, and we are just in from having a really lovely swim and soak in the pool/hot tub.  Lacy and Keera joined us as well.  Then we came home to try that mince roll.
It was bloody YUK!  TASTELESS.  Will never do that again.  Coco really loved eating my dinner for me.  Don't worry, I took out the tomato and onions for her.
Now, the girls have gone home, and we are going to blob out in front of the telly till bedtime.
Catch ya tomorrow.

WINDOW OUT, SOFA BED IN

We hope there isn't too much rain today, as Steve is coming over to take the front bedroom's window out.  Then we can get the new sofa bed INTO THE FREAKIN ROOM!

Steve did some 'prep' work late yesterday, in readiness for today.

I'm hoping it's not too much of a mission, but knowing our luck, it will be.  😖😕😒

Once the sofa bed is in the house, and the window is re-installed, I can stop stressing over THAT.

Then the next job will be to empty the shed, I will make room in the garage for all the stuff in the shed.  It means we will not have any spare space ANYWHERE for a little while.

I think the shed is going to be removed this coming week?  If it is, I will be ordering two more KETER sheds asap.

It's probably time I got up and started the day.

Catch ya later, with a few photos of the 'window out/sofa in' saga.

UPDATE COMING SOON...

2 pm.  It's been a long morning.  Quite stressful.

ABOVE: That bloody window was wedged in there super tight.

ABOVE: It took about an hour and a half to get it out.  I was covering my ears A LOT, expecting to hear a loud CRaaaaack when the glass broke.
Thankfully, that did not happen.
But only because Steve knew what he was doing, and did it slowly and carefully.
It was still a mission getting it out though, even with his experience.

ABOVE: The only time I want to see that hole in me house!
They didn't even munt the plants in the garden.

ABOVE: Getting the sofa bed out of our lounge, they had to take the ranch sliding door off again.
At least that wasn't a biggie.

ABOVE: Around the side of the house it came, and into the front bedroom.  BOOM!

ABOVE: The ranch slider going back on.

ABOVE:  With some tinkering, the window went back in, so much easier than getting that bugger out.
Having Lacy here to help was awesome.  Even Keera helped a bit as well.
The more hands the better eh.

After all that, big thanks to Steve and Lacy, and off they went home.  Stew and I had lunch, and now we are pottering around in the house, doing odd jobs.  Moving a few things around, as ya do.

OMG.... I totally forgot to thank my darling Stewie as well.  He did as much as the kids.  I feel bad now.  😒

Right... it's now 6.20 pm.  We've had a relatively quiet afternoon, just doing a few little jobs here and there.
I think we are both going to bed fairly early tonight.
Catch ya tomorrow.

NOT OCD

My Doctor once said I had OCD.

I disagreed.  Strongly.

But what I do have is a strong dislike of things not being in their 'right' place.

ABOVE: Like,  WHO would feel happy living in this space?

I sure don't like it.  And can't wait until it's all out of the lounge and in the bathroom and front bedroom.

I've lived in chaos for over a month now, I'm totally done with it.

Today Stew and I are taking it easy.  We will go out and about, looking at, and all going well, finding some new towel rails and a cupboard for our new bathroom.

Then we will have a nice lunch out, before coming home to do diddly squat.

Sounds good to me.

1.24 pm.  We are just home from shopping for towel rails, paint etc.

ABOVE: We now have all the paint we need for the bathroom and house.
And we bought two towel rails and some clothes hooks for the bathroom.  Still looking for the right hand towel rail.
I found a new bag for my swimming stuff, then we headed over to Fergus for a nice lunch.
A bit later on this afternoon we are going down to the pool for a swim/soak, followed by a shower.  Bex and the kids are joining us.  Not sure if Steve is as well, time will tell.
So we have a lovely afternoon to look forward to.

ABOVE:  Oh the pool!  It was wonderful.  So relaxing... and the kids really enjoyed it.  We met two ladies who came down for a swim as well... nice to meet more residents.

ABOVE:  THIS BOY and his crazy hair!  He has lush, thick hair like I used to have.  Sadly, mine is no longer that thick.  Dante looks a scream.
He will be getting a hair cut over the school holidays.
After our swim, we came home, and the kids went home for dinner.
We have enjoyed a quiet evening in front of the telly.
Time to sign off for the day.
Catch ya tomorrow.

LACY TO HOSPITAL

Today I am taking Lacy to hospital for a procedure.  She won't be able to drive afterwards, so Mum to the rescue.  And NO, it's not anything to do with girly issues.
We have a history of bowel issues, and she's getting checked out as a precaution.

A week ago I ordered an all-in-one Oodie, to wear back from the pool on cold evenings.
It arrived on Monday, and was WAY too big for me.

ABOVE:  So, Stew scored it.  It fits him perfectly, whereas it swam on me.  I ordered two more for me in a smaller size.

And yes!  They arrived yesterday.  I didn't get a chance to try them on until late last night... thankfully they fit just fine. I always worry when ordering clothes online, that they won't fit.

The builders/plumber etc are due back here this morning, so hopefully I see more progress once I get home from the hospital.

ABOVE:  This corner will have the new cupboard in it.
It used to be where the shower was.

ABOVE:  The new shower tray is in place.  It will have a sliding door from the right side to the left, and the new vanity will go to the left of the shower. Where that pipe is in the floor.

ABOVE:  I'm not sure what is going in this corner yet.  Maybe a seat?  More towel rails?  A plant?  Dunno.
All I know is, this is kinda fun, and kinda stressful.

ABOVE: Family help us in various ways, and this is how Bex is helping me right now.  She's knitting me leg warmers.  She's done one and is on to the 2nd one now.  So nice and warm. Thank You so much Bex, I love you.

And now I better get a move on.  The builders are due here soon, and then I have to pick up Lacy and head up to the hospital.
Catch you later.

ABOVE: And here we are... on a wet and miserable day. Tucked up here in the hospital for the next 4 hours. Oh yaa.

ABOVE: Don't envy me the gorgeous view I have for the next 4 hours! Stunning shade of friggin green.  Hoping to stretch my legs while Lacy is being seen to.  Later.

FYI... Lacy is wearing nappies. First time in about 43 years. 🤣😅🤣😜

ABOVE: 11.26 am.  Bloody hell... MORE green. Lacy did ask for purple... but no. Green it is. Now we wait for her turn to be wheeled off down the corridor.

1.49 pm:  And Lacy's procedure went well, no complications.   And she has no memory of it, which is great.  They knocked her out totally by the sound of it.
We are now home, and:

ABOVE: She is the first person to sleep on our new sofa bed.  Parked in the lounge.

ABOVE:  The builders left at 12 midday.  I thought they might have gotten more done today.  Seems not.  New concrete on the lower patches, and a couple of pieces of gib board up.
They will be back on Monday.
Moving on... I'm going to have some lunch, then Lacy and I will go and pick up Keera.
Lacy has her for a week over the school holidays.
I'm sure there will be a few swims in our warm pool.

Some EXCELLENT news this afternoon.  The Village Manager called in and told me that the Village are buying our shed off us, which is what I suggested they do a couple of days ago.
They are going to use it in their 'workshop' area for storage.  So it's a WIN/WIN for everyone.
We will now be buying a couple more of the KETTER STORAGE UNITS to replace the wooden shed.
It means Stew won't be able to stand up inside a shed, but hey, at least the 'issue' of the shed is resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

I am so relieved our lovely shed is not going to be cut down in height.  It would have ruined it for sure.
Lacy and Keera are safely at home, and I am now going to get a bit of housework done.  It's been a bit neglected the past few days.

7.04 pm, and we are just back from having a lovely Indian meal at our favourite restaurant.
I have washing in the dryer, and a 2nd load in the machine.  Tick tick.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow, as we are not doing any 'jobs' as such.
Might go shopping for bathroom fittings, but that's about all.
Catch ya tomorrow.
