25 YEAR COLLECTION

GOOD MORNING.

So today is PURGE DAY.

I'm getting rid of all my 'rusty bits'!

Not something I ever thought I would do. But I've lugged them all over the country for 25+ years.  And I'm done.

They are just too big and cumbersome to have in the MUCH SMALLER garden we will end up having in our new home.  (provided we get said new home eventually!)

It is going to be a job just fitting all our garden pots in the new place in fact.  I might even have to re-home some of the bigger pots too.

Today's mission is to load all the rusty bits on our trailer, and take it over to a local scrap metal merchant.

After that Stew and I will get the house ready for the Open Home this afternoon, drop dogs off at Steve 'n' Bex's, before getting ourselves ready, and off to our friend's wedding.

9 am:  And it's done.

ABOVE:  The last thing to go on the trailer, our letterbox.  That letterbox has been with us for over 28 years.  My brother Vern made it for us.  I'm sad to see it go, but also happy that we never have to move it again.  It weighs A LOT.

We took 6 big items to the scrap metal yard, and combined it weighed 620 kilos. That is 1,366.8 pounds!

Moving on, we are now in 'get the house ready' mode.

ABOVE: On the road, passing the Tamahere Market. It's only the second time we have missed doing that market in 4 years.

ABOVE: Just as well we left early. The traffic is at a slow crawl. Hopefully it doesn't go on for too long.

Well luckily it only slowed us down for 20 minutes. We are now safely at Tauranga... waiting till it's time to go in.
I better remember to get in me dress!  The hair has already gone up, it's stinking hot 🔥!

ABOVE: A GORGEOUS wedding. More when we get home.

ABOVE: These photos are back to front... this is me after the wedding.  I did wear a necklace, but took it off after the wedding as it was driving me nuts.  I'm not used to wearing necklaces.
Nice house in the background, it overlooks Mt Maunganui beach.  PRIME real estate.
Might buy it when we win LOTTO.

ABOVE X'S 2:  Mt Maunganui beach at 5 pm, still heaps of people there, enjoying the sunshine and water.

ABOVE:  D, the bride, looked absolutely stunning in her dress.  It is exactly the dress I would love to wear, if I ever marry Stew again.

ABOVE: The new Mr & Mrs C, having their first kiss as a married couple.
The wedding was just so lovely.  Low key, intimate, but special.

Before we left for the wedding, I told Stew he should wear shorts, because it was such a hot day.  And he said, NO WAY would he wear shorts to a wedding!
And then the groom arrived wearing?  SHORTS!  And sandals.
At least he wasn't cooking in long pants.

Stew had brought some shorts along to change into after the wedding, so he went and got changed during the wedding.  He was more comfy I'm sure.

ABOVE: It was a stunning venue, lots of interesting gardens and little buildings.  Trust me to find some rusty bits, right after I got rid of all of mine!

ABOVE: One of the groom's little granddaughters.   She had gathered quite a collection of sticks, then decided she didn't want them after all, and proceeded to emphatically throw them, one by one, back in the garden.   It was very funny watching her.
There were a few very young children there, and they had a ball running around in the gardens, eating food and playing together.

Such a gorgeous wedding. So happy we went.

I'm now knackered, and just want to blob out for the remainder of the day.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Totally agree. Yeah for decluttering the yard. I think it will help in open housing/showing the house.

Your rusty bits have been with you for so long, it would be hard. But you could get another tattoo and make it Rusty Snapper lol. Kj

Well, that’s an efficient way to do it! Somebody else may have rehomed those cool relics. But maybe you don’t want to deal with that. It’s a cleanse. No worries! Dogstars

    1. A sunglass shop in Hamilton. The brand of my glasses is SKECHERS SE265 52 POLARISED. There's a few more letters/numbers after all that as well! I had had them for a year, so they might still be in stock over in Oz.
