ANOTHER BUSY DAY, THEN THREE DAYS OFF

For once, I totally get the 'Thank God It's Friday' saying!

It's been a long week, and add in the dental appointment stress out, and I'm totally ready to get today done and over with, then have three days off.

I've got my big private house clean this morning, which is a 3 hour job.  Then this afternoon I have a Laundry Shift at the Rest Home.  So not really home much today.

There will be a chicken cooking in the crock pot all day, so that's dinner taken care of.  One less job to do at the end of the day.

FRIDAY FUNNY:

ABOVE:  Totally relate to that.

And on that note, I'm outta here.  Got a few jobs to get done in my house before I go clean someone else's.

ONWARD...

Work this morning was great!

Now, home, had lunch, killing time till I leave for my afternoon shift at the rest home.

***  so glad I kept these *** ...

ABOVE:  On the left the details of what was done LAST YEAR by the dentist in Cambridge.
On the right, details of what the dentist I saw yesterday has to do to get my teeth 'right'.

Now I can prove that the first dentist did a shit job, and we can try and get a refund (even if it's only a partial refund).

Fingers crossed my new dentist will give us a letter of what needs to be done so we have back up if/when the first dentist argues the fact.  And I'm sure he will.

Better go... for some reason I've got the shits today!  Too Much Information?  lol
You should be used to it!

5.50 pm:  just home from work, and I'm knackered.  My butt and lower back are killing me.  Thank god I can now relax for a few days.

Yeah, just one today.  Thank goodness.  I enter some residents rooms and cross my fingers they ain't sitting there with no pants on!  Very disconcerting when they ask you to help them get their knickers on!
I can't of course, it's not in my job description.

Right, next ...  get changed and finish getting out dinner ready.  The chicken in the crock pot is looking bloody good.

Dinner was perfect... the chicken was falling off the bone.

Now.. I'm falling asleep in my chair... so going to bed early.
Catch ya tomorrow.

HELP!

I'M SCARED SHITLESS.

I have the dentist at 8.30 am this morning.  With NO SEDATION.

Straight after that I have a house to clean.

So... I won't be home again till after 12.

Think of me.

Yeah, that's me.

Hi!  It's now 4 hours later, and I survived!
In fact, the anticipation of pain is what scares me the most, and of course, the needles.

But, Neil (my lovely dentist), put some numbing cream on my gum before the needle, so it didn't hurt as bad.

And I held it together and didn't throw up on him!

I did throw up at home BEFORE leaving, twice.  IKKKk.

And when I saw the OVERALL expected account balance, I almost threw up again!  $4,130.00.

So, this work is going to take a few months to get done, as I can't afford to pay that much all in one go, that's for sure!

I'm booking my next appointment for next week... two teeth that need replacement fillings, they are hurting whenever I eat.

I am going to email the dentist from last year and talk about some sort of refund.  Somehow I doubt he will be happy to even 'talk turkey'.

After I'd finished at the dentist I went straight to my morning job.  Two hours later and I'm home and ready for lunch.
Then at 3 I head off to the Rest Home to do a Laundry Shift.  Thank god it's not a Cleaning Shift... I'm already knackered.  The Laundry Shift is not so arduous.

I forgot to tell you!  Yesterday was a:

ABOVE:  Two Bare Bums Day!

I wonder if I will get to witness any today?  lol

Half an hour till I have to leave for my shift, and I'm in so much pain!

The numbness has worn off. And OUCH... the entire right side of my face hurts.

My Temporomandibular joint cracked twice while I was having my tooth done this morning, and boy, do I know about it now! (google it, I don't have time to explain).

And of course, as the dentist warned me, the tooth I had fixed today will probably ache a bit for the next few days too.

Oh yaaa... more pain. God I'm so over this already. It really drags you down.

YES, I've taken some painkillers. Fingers crossed they kick in quickly.

6.40 pm:  Well the bloody painkillers didn't kick in till I got home from work! Typical.
Now I only have pain at the injection site.

And...

ABOVE: It was a no bare bum day!  Yaaa.

I've cooked a lovely beef curry in the crock pot for dinner, it's been simmering all day.
Stew is so disappointed, I served it up with mashed potatoes, not rice.  Sorry Darling.

So... dinner was REALLY LOVELY!   I made the curry a bit hotter than I would usually, but it really did go down well.
Even Stew liked it.

And I'm really struggling to stay awake!  Stressful day, so going to bed early.
Another long day tomorrow.

EXTRA SHIFT TODAY

Usually today I only have one morning shift at the Rest Home... but I'm covering a person's leave this afternoon, so am doing a double shift.
That means I will only be home for lunch time, and then not till dinner time.

Bit of a bummer as I'm really enjoying working on the new runner.

Here's another peek at it...

ABOVE:  It's going to depict 'Holiday Time'... so I'm hoping people might like it on their tables in summer?  (bear in mind it's in no way finished).

I think I will do a few placemats with just vehicles too... cos they are cool.  Well, I think so anyway.

ABOVE: Do you have this 'problem' in your house?
Stew buys bananas for Brylee, cos she says she wants them.
Then she doesn't eat them... so we end up with bananas that are 1, 2 and 3 weeks old!

And because we don't make banana cakes or muffins cos they ain't in our 'diet'... we end up throwing them out.

So yesterday I told Stew to STOP buying bananas.  If Brylee wants bananas from now on, she can buy her own, one at a time if necessary.

Problem solved.

It's going to be 4 days before I can get back into the sewing room *sigh*.  The next three days I have double shifts every day.  Better get up and get started on today then.

ONWARD...

Just remembered:  Stew is coming home early this afternoon so he can go and pick up the new clothes dryer from the local Noel Leemings shop.  Awesome, we have so much washing all over the place trying to dry.

2.30 pm:  home for lunch.  Stew took some time off at lunchtime too... to get the dryer.

ABOVE: For now it can just sit there.  Tonight I will read the instruction book and give it a go.
We will have plenty of linen/towels etc to air in it first up.

I'm starting to feel a bit sick.  NERVES.  I've got the dentist tomorrow morning before work.
Bet I don't get any sleep tonight!

Impossible to 'try and take my mind off it' too.

5.55 pm:  Home from work, feeling knackered.
Got a super sore right arm from all the scrubbing and washing folding today I must say.
Thank goodness tomorrow is a 'lighter' day in relation to work.

OMG every time I think of tomorrow my belly churns and I feel instantly sick.  Grrrrr, I wish I wasn't such a sook.

I know it won't be nearly as 'bad' as I think, but this time I'm NOT having IV sedation (trying to save money)... so this will be the first time I'm to have dental work without it (as an adult).

Here's hoping I don't throw up!  Time will tell eh?

I've just cooked some sausages for dinner, and Stew is going to get some chips from down the road.  I'm too tired and lazy to do a 'proper' dinner.

Watching Coronation Street, then going to bed.  Not to sleep of course, I will no doubt toss and turn all night long.
Oh yaaa.

JUST ONE TODAY

So... today I just have one house clean to do... that's this morning.

Then the rest of the day is mine.

I've started planning a new runner.  Just a fun one for my markets in October and over summer.

HEATHER:  Thanks for your payment.  I will be working on your grandson's quilt very, very soon.  This coming weekend I have free... so there's a good chance I will be making a start on it then.

And yep, that's me for now.  I have to load my cleaning stuff in my car, then get some washing on.

Catch ya later.

ONWARD...

So... this morning's job didn't take as long as usual, so I'm home before 12.  Got the washing on, and having lunch before going into the sewing room.

FYI: SENSOR DRYERS...  I was told this is how they work:

The dryer 'senses' the temperature in the room/area you have the dryer.  It will dry the clothes until they are the same temperature/moisture as the air around the dryer.
So, if you have the dryer in a cold, damp place (ie the garage), the dryer will 'dry' your clothes until they are the same as the air in the garage/area.  So if the garage is damp, your clothes will be too.

I've bought a Sensor/Condenser/Heat Pump dryer... and it will be in the sewing room.  It will dry the clothes and put all the moisture from them into a container in the front of the dryer.  And as it's a 'Heat Pump' dryer as well... it is the most economical one as well.  WIN WIN.

NO SUGAR, two week challenge:

I lost 2.9 kgs.  How did the rest of you do?

Steve (son #2) just rang me and told me I CAN put the new dryer in the garage.  He says the salesman has his facts wrong.  So yaaa, I will be putting it in the garage after all.

I have had some fun this afternoon, designing a new runner.  I will give you a sneek peek... and a fuller peek tomorrow... *smiles*

ABOVE:  it's a JEEP!   And I just LOVE the fabric I found for it.  The little weird critter is a part of the fabric.  He fits there so well.
As you can tell, it's far from finished.  It's so much fun doing this runner.

I really NEEDED to get into the sewing room today...I was feeling really down and flat today.
And now I'm feeling so happy... I just love that JEEP!

Dinner is ready, pork and bacon with salads in a Stand N Stuff thingee.  They are super yum.
I'm going out.
To the FBG Quizz night at the Good George Pub.
It's held in an outside gazebo thingee, so let's hope they have the gas heaters on!

I'm dressed for the cold, and I'm taking a blanket too!  It can get bloody cold if they turn off the heaters too soon.

I will say goodnight now... cos I won't be back till late.

TWO FACED OLD BIDDY

So, here's a little story about something that happened yesterday:

I've been working at the rest home for exactly a month now.

There are many residents, and almost all of them are just LOVELY.

When I go into a resident's room, I always say "Good Morning or Good Afternoon" and most of the residents say  'Hello Chris",  "Thank You Chris", or engage me in a quick conversation.

In the past month, there is this one lady who has never said a word to me, NOT ONE WORD.  UNTIL yesterday.

She had visitors in her room, quite a few in fact.  And bugger me if she didn't look at me and say "Oh thank you so much Chris" when I took in her washing!!!!

I looked at her like "WTF?"... you totally ignore me for a month, and only acknowledge me when you have visitors?  WHAT A TWO FACED OLD BITCH BIDDY.

I thought she might have been deaf, or senile or something.  Now I know better.  Now I know she's just not a nice person.

ABOVE:  I swear to god, that's how she looks at me,  EVERY TIME I go into her room, EXCEPT yesterday.

So that was my little story.  I'm sure there will be more.  *smiles*

Today I will be doing my own housework.  Stew got the brown couch out of the family room yesterday and put it in the garage, so now I have to tidy the garage a bit... shuffle a few things around.

Stew put a blue plastic tarp over the brown couch in the garage, to protect if from the dogs getting on it.  And the little buggers managed to uncover the seat part and sit on the couch fabric.  So I've put 'stuff' on the couch so they simply can't get on it.
Only solution, cos those dogs are far too clever for their own good.

I've just tidied up the garage, so that's my 'main' mission for the day completed.

Just waiting for Lacy to arrive now to do my hair.  It's looking WAY DARKER than I anticipated.  Photos later.

I am hoping the clothes dryer arrives today.  I'm gunna ring the shop and see if they can actually deliver it to our home instead of the shop here in Cambridge.

As it's a sensor dryer, it can't go in the garage, so I've made a space for it in one of the sewing rooms.  I have missed having a dryer this past week ... I didn't realise how often I do use the dryer.  Mostly for airing stuff off the line over winter, not just drying washing straight out of the washing machine.  So, it's gunna be awesome to have one again.  I just hope it's not too complicated to run, it certainly has more whistles and bells than my old one.

Right... now I am gunna roll over and read the news in bed, and get up a bit later on.

ONWARD...

So I rang Noel Leeming bang on 9 this morning to see if they could drop the dryer off at our house, they literally have to drive past our street to take it to the shop.  And yes, they can, but I will be charged a delivery fee of....

$89 !

So of course I said "No thanks".  We will pick it up from the shop.  That won't cost us a cent.

Crazy.  $89 and they are driving past our street to take it to the shop, which is further for them.

I have dye on my head.  Going to dark blonde.  Hope I don't go green, or copper, or ???

Lacy arrived, and saw my wet  hair.  And went ON AND ON about how disgusting it looked, how it was GREEN, how I looked like I had 'old lady hair', and in general said it was awful.  Then she dried it and decided it wasn't 'THAT BAD'...

ABOVE:  It's actually a bit lighter than I wanted!  But close enough to my 'natural' hair colour ... so hopefully when I get regrowth it won't show up too much, and I can slowly just go natural.
I'm sick to death of dying my hair.

Though, if too much grey shows up... I might just change my mind.  lol

Well it's now 7.35 pm and I'm knackered.  My batteries just DIED around dinner time.  So I have fed the family, and am going to head off to bed early tonight.  This week I have the next 4 days at work, with three 'doubles' in a row (Wed, Thur & Fri)... so I hope to get a decent sleep tonight.  Doesn't help that my back is sore and I have a nasty headache.

LET'S SEE HOW MANY 'BUMS' FEATURE TODAY EH?

This could become a 'thing'... guessing how many bums I am confronted with each day!
Yesterday it was only two.  I am doing a double shift today (like yesterday) so... let's see who guesses correctly by the end of the day.

I am guessing 4.

I'm actually looking forward to my shifts today, now that I know how to keep my back pain under control.  I will talk to my Doctor next time I have a reason to visit him, and make sure I am doing the right thing taking Tramadol for the pain.

Just for the record, I took Panadol yesterday morning and it didn't help at all.

Clothes Dryer:  is coming in the next couple of days, the store is going to deliver it to their shop here in Cambridge, and we can pick it up from there.  So in the meantime, we have racks of clothes drying in the lounge, cos there is just nothing dying outside at all.   It's just too damp.

ABOVE: Stew put the treadmill in the family room yesterday, so now I can walk and watch TV ... I will probably get some walking done tomorrow.

I'm thinking of putting the brown couch in the garage, and putting a cover over it to protect it. Then we will have more room in the dining area.  Right now it's pretty cramped, and the dining table is at it's shortest length.

At some point we will have room for it in a bedroom, but that's not possible right now.

Lacy is going to come out to visit me tomorrow, I'm looking forward to being pampered.  She's going to do my hair for me.  BLISS.  And by 'do my hair' I just mean dry it, and maybe straighten it.  Just having someone else do your hair is a real treat right?  *smiles*

OK, enough blithering ... I better get up and do a couple of jobs around here before I head off to work.

ONWARD...

1.45 pm:  Home for lunch... and so far, NO BUMS!  lol
Stew has made me a lovely lunch, I can smell it cooking.

YUM!

5.55 pm:  HOME, a bit tired.  And, it was a:

Yaaa.... no bare bums today.

OLD MOO:  I've seen bare bums just walking down the corridor, parked on their beds, sitting on the loo, in the shower... you name it, I've seen it!

I'm having a lot of trouble with my right butt cheek.  The pain is quite bad by the end of the day, but thankfully not as bad as when it stopped me walking completely.  I don't know if it's my sciatic nerve, or a muscle problem?  I just hope it stops being a pain IN THE BUTT soon.

It has been a long week, lots of time on my feet, with double shifts all over the place.

This coming week is not looking that much better either I must say.  But tomorrow I have 'off'.

I'm going to bugger off now, Stew has cooked something for dinner.... I won't need any till much later on tonight.  Having 'lunch' at 2 pm kinda buggers up dinner time.

Catch ya tomorrow.

NO FUN

*sad face*.... I have to go to work ALL DAY today (except a break at lunchtime), and Stew gets to go SHOPPING!

That really sucks.  I love shopping.  Ya all know that eh?

So... I've been contemplating the pro's and con's of these two clothes dryers:

ABOVE:  Both are similar in price and specifications, so I asked for opinions on Facebook.  It looked like Fisher & Paykel was coming out ahead, but then Steve (our son) rang me and said "Get the Samsung".

He said their after sales care was far, far superior to F&P.  So that's the way we are going.  Plus the F&P one was a few hundred dollars more.  That made it an easier decision too.

So, all going well we will have a new clothes dryer by the end of the day.

As I already mentioned, I've got a double shift at the rest home today.

Think of me on my feet for almost 7 hours, scrubbing and cleaning, folding washing, bla bla bla.  I'm going to be knackered come dinner time!  The only GOOD thing is that I love the oldies, they are (on a whole),  so lovely.

Thankfully, Stew is cooking dinner tonight and tomorrow, one less job for me.

Now... I am off to get the day started.  Catch ya later.

ONWARD...

1.55 pm:  Home for lunch.  And a rest.  My lower back is KILLING ME... and I've resorted to taking a Tramadol.
Yes, I had a reaction to it a while ago, but that's because I took it on an empty stomach and also had Panadol at the same time... too much!

Here's hoping Tramadol on it's own kills the back ache.

So far today, it's been a 'NO BUM DAY'!

And by that I mean, I ain't walked into a room or down a corridor and seen a naked bum!
Yesterday was a '5 BUM DAY'.  Seriously.  5 of them. All ya can do is laugh, cos they do.  *smiles*

This afternoon is laundry duties, so slightly LESS chance of running into a naked bum.  But only slightly.

5.50 pm:  And I'm home from work.... and, well... it was too good to last...

ABOVE:  It turned out to be a 2 bum day! lol

So glad I thought to take that Tramadol!  It worked, I was not in pain at all while working this afternoon.  I even enjoyed myself, instead of feeling awful.

Stew is cooking Lasagne... cos I had quite a bit of fresh lasagne sheets left in the fridge.  It smells so good.  My mouth is watering.

Our 'spare' teenager goes home later on tonight... I hope her Mum has had a successful 4 days at Field Days.  I'm hoping she can pop in here for dinner before taking her girl home.  She will be exhausted.

SLEPT LIKE A LOG!

I went to bed early (for me) last night.
And OMG I slept like a log... comatose almost.

I was so tired after yesterday's double jobs.

Today won't be anywhere near as busy, thank god.

The teenage girls and I are heading into Hamilton to do the grocery shopping.

We do need quite a bit of food etc, so it will be lovely to have the girls helping me with it all.

I have a short shift at the rest home at 3 pm, and it does not involve much cleaning/scrubbing/mopping thankfully.
It's in the laundry, folding washing, putting it away in resident's rooms/drawers etc.  So not a hard job today.  I like 'laundry' duty!

My hands were so itchy last night!  I wear gloves at the rest home when doing cleaning, but at my private job I didn't bother.  Mistake right there!  My hands were not happy with me after all that cleaning.  Hindsight... wear gloves!

And now... I might just roll over and get a few more Zzzzz's... I have no intention of getting on the road with all the other crazy people at this time of the day!

We have Field Days on right now and the roads around here are super busy.  To date, I have NEVER been to a Field Days event.  I would like to one day... but doubt it will be this year.

So anyway... I will just stay in bed till the roads are likely to be less busy.

ONWARD...

Sore hips today! First thing I've done since getting outta bed? Take 2 Panadol.  Now to rouse the kids... though as it's only 8.30 am might wait half an hour *smiles*.

Omg just got home from grocery shopping with  enough time to get changed and get to work.

I'll  be back later.  Gotta rush...

7.07 pm:   Finally home, fed the family and now?  RELAXING.

The girls and I got into Hamilton around 10 am, and I dropped them off at the mall... they didn't want to go grocery shopping. *sigh*

I then went looking for a new clothes dryer first, cos I looked at the local Laundromat's prices and decided $12 a load to dry our clothes was too much!

So, I looked at a few at Harvey Norman's, then I went over to Noel Leemings, whose prices were better.

I had a conversation with the salesman, it went like this:

Salesman:  "Can I help you with anything?"

ME:  "Yes, I need a new clothes dryer, mine just died and I'm really cross about that!"

Salesman:  "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, was it very old?"

ME:  "It was only 34 years old."

Salesman:  (Face looked incredulous!) "Oh WOW, I'm not even 34 years old, that's amazing."

ME:  "Yes it is!  But now I have to get a new one, so ya better show me what ya got."

And he did.  And Stew is going into town tomorrow to buy the one I've chosen.
It was an easy pick, I just tried to get the best one for the best price.  NOT super cheap, NOT super expensive.  Middle of the road every time.

After that I did the grocery shopping, picked up the girls and got home JUST IN TIME for me to head off to work.

So that was me day.

And clearly it was QUIET on here... not feeling the love peeps.  But I know you are all super busy with ya lives too.  *smiles*

Catch ya tomorrow, when I will be out working all day, so another quiet day no doubt.

Thursday, June 13, 2019

FULL DAY AHEAD

Righty ho... gotta get up soon and take the spare teenager and our resident teen to school.

Then home, have something to eat and go to work at the rest home till 1.30.

Then it's straight on to my 2nd job of the day!

Cleaning a private house which is changing hands today.  The owner is having trouble getting everything clean in time to hand over the keys at 5 pm, so I'm going to get stuck in and give her a hand.

I better pack some food too... cos there is literally no break between the two jobs, so I will be eating on the job.

ABOVE: I saw this one years ago ... saved it till now.  It made me laugh.

And that's all I have for now... better get up and start the day.

Oh and by the way, I'm not doing that well with the ON SUGAR ... scones, cream and jam last night and today!  WHOOPS.

Why, when you are trying to have NO SUGAR, it's all you think about???

ONWARD...

6.25 pm:  I got home at 5.50 pm... a bit later than expected I must say.

I did a 4 hour shift at the rest home, all cleaning, so on me feet the entire time.
Then I went to my friend 'S's,  and did 4 hours house cleaning there too.

So as you can imagine, I'm utterly KNACKERED!  My back is BURNING and so sore.

I'm now sitting in me lounge chair, blankie on and I'M NOT MOVING FOR NO ONE.

Stew is on his way home from Rotorua, and he's picking up Pizza on his way.  No bloody way am I cooking.

I could have put something in the crock pot this morning, but I had nothing in the freezer suitable to slow cook.

The teenage girls and I are going grocery shopping on Friday morning, we are out of just about everything.

I don't think I've felt this tired in a long time... doing two 4 hour hour jobs back to back probably won't be happening again!   It's not the hours involved that's so tiring, it's the nature of the work.

Vacuming, washing floors, bathrooms, toilets etc.  All involve bending over repeatedly.  I can cope with JUST 4 hours, not 8.

Now... I'm looking forward to a nice dinner, then just relaxing in me chair!

So Stew got home with the pizza... which was lovely. It took me almost two hours to 'remember' that I can take a panadol for the back ache!  I just had two.
I hope they kick in quick, cos I'm really sore.

Signing off now... cos I'm done for the day.
