I WANT A REST!

Righty ho, today I am going to do NOTHING... I mean it! I will take the kids to school, then come home, sit on me butt and read a book!

That will be "it" for me. I am so tired. If any bugger thinks I'm going to vacum, dust, polish or ANYTHING they can think again! I don't think I will even do dinner, we can buy it today.

With any luck we will hear from the "buyers" tonight and it will be a done deal....

We have seen a gorgeous house on the 'net' in Auckland... can't stop looking at it.... so hopefully if we go unconditional on Friday I can pop up there and check it out! I can't believe we are this far along in the process already.

Right, going now....

  1. See - told you I might be visiting you in Auckland!!! Fantastic news about the house - it makes life so much simpler if you can get a quick sale and not have it hanging around for weeks. Next step - the packing - what joy!

  2. You'll just LOVE getting your nails done and if you don't mind people near your feet, get a pedicure as well......ah bliss!

How is Griffin going with his nasty nail polish?

What's the number (id & website) of the Auckland house your looking at so I can go and be nosy?

  3. I guess them's the breaks when you're selling. Still it sucks. The only time I sold a place, we went to auction which saved a lot of the grief.

  6. well thats really really sucky.
I'm not even sure if thats really legal as a builders report is to ascertain any 'hidden' flaws, NOT to point out cosmetic things they can see with their own eyes when they walk through.
For goodness sake, I can't believe some people, but it appears theres a ton of them out there as everyone I've spoken to about my own dramas (work etc) seems to have their own crazy story.

  7. I know the feeling, my house was under contract on 30th June, they needed to extend the contract and finally pull the plug on 8th October. so stressful its now under offer subject to a sale of their property, I thought you were so lucky to have a cash buyer...Grrr makes you so mad, ah well on with the open homes and viewing and idiots invading your privacy...Cheers Margaret

  10. What a pain. Sounds like they just wanted an excuse!!! I agree with Lynise, I am not sur it is even legal but certainly not worth the hassle to fight it. You will find the right people soon enough.

  11. ok, have checked out the two homes. I don't know the Papakura area very well, but would advise caution on the Wattle Downs place. The suburb itself has nice homes but you have to drive through the slumbs (grotsville) to get into Wattle Downs. I wouldn't touch a house there with a barge pole. Don't want to sound really negetive but driving through 10mins of getto land everytime you arrive or leave your home would be soooo awlful. If you look up homes in located in Mahia Road, Coxhead Road, or Roscommon Road, you would have to drive down at least one of these long Roads to get into Wattle Downs.

  13. Bugger about the buyers pulling out.

I also had a wee look at the houses up here... Got to watch Red Hills, there are some bloody rough spot at the bottom of that hill. Dated a guy who lived in Red Hills, can tell you was not keen at spending the nights at his place.

  14. So you are going to be South? For some reason I thought you were going North Shore or something... never mind, South is closer to me!! I love looking at houses so bring it on.

  15. Ok I had to look. I do not know either area very well but I agree with Lynise that you need to check out the areas surroundng them. Both have pools which are not fenced off from the house. The Papakura house decor looks a lot more dated than Wattle Downs. Having said that, Wattle Downs is a bit plain but you are really good at making the house look lovely with your own personal touches. As long as you love it it soes not matter where you choose.

  17. There is no way in hell your bathrooms need doing up!!! You have absolutely beautiful bathrooms!!! I don't think they deserved your house if they were thinking like that. But to be honest to me it sounds like they got carried away in the moment and then suddenly freaked out (maybe they couldnt afford it) and was looking for a way out, so don't be too disheartened by it!

  18. You remember the house we built in Auckland? Well that was in WattleCove which is a part of Wattledowns! Wow small world. I actually know the house you talked about, backs right on the golf course. Wattledowns is a very beautiful area with a real community and Clayton Park School (the zoned school) is a good school too.

In saying the Redhill, Papakura is supposed to be a good area too but I have to say my pic is the Wattledowns one, given the area. Another thing to note is that Wattledowns/Cove is growing very fast and might have more capital gains potential, where Redhill is sort of stopped growing/older area, still nice tho.

Ohh I just remembered there is a brand new school in Wattlecove that was being completed as we sold 3/4 yrs ago.

    Decisions, decisions!!

  19. Just read Lynise's comment ... and while what she said does ring true to some degree ... after living in the area for 4yrs I really didn't notice any danger. While the houses driving through to get there are run down, we never noticed anything dodgy going on. I personally think it's the same anywhere in Auckland, with good areas backing onto bad ones, no matter where you live you always need to be vigilent with safety. The house you are looking at there is on the very far corner (furtherest away from 'dodgyville') of Wattledowns.

At the end of the day it has to be your decision and you will probably only 'know' when you go up and feel the 'vibe' for yourselves.

  24. What a bummer about the house. Good on you for resisting the pies. Nice nails - I've never had mine done. As for housework, it'll still be there tomorrow, or next week or..........!

  25. Bummer about the house sale... but the "right" family will come along soon enough...

  26. What a bummer...........So sorry Chris that they backed out of the sale. What a shame. It's only a matter of time, your home is lovely.

Your new nails look gorgeous. I have been having mine done for about 12 months and I love them. I have them fairly short, so I can still type. I always always have it french, so I get the whites rebalanced with every second infill. French is very elegant and always looks good. I have never had colour on them in the whole time...

Good luck for more prospective buyers, keep that bread machine out.....

  28. Your nails look gorgeous!!

Not fair that the buyers have messed you around, shouldn't be allowed but like you said, there will be other buyers.

    Hugs to you xx

  29. Sorry about the buyers. I hope you have other ones soon to follow!

The nails look GREAT. I am a french manicure gal myself! I think they are classier! They just seem to be more upscale.

You are deserving of some pampering! YOu have worked really hard on all of this house stuff. You need a professional massage too!

  30. Sorry that the buyers turned out to be such turds. Someone else will come along soon.

Love the nails. So pretty! Take care.

  32. lovely nails Chris... I have only ever had this done once in my life... never had it done again... I didnt like the idea of having to go back all the time and get them tidied up and refilled... so I took them off eventually... took ages for my nails to go back to normal.
