GOOD MORNING!
TODAY
I
HAVE
BEEN
A
BLOGGER
FOR
TWENTY YEARS !
Twenty years of blogging every single day, except a couple of times when I was in hospital and couldn't do it myself, so Stew or Steve did it for me.
I am super proud of myself for hanging in there for so, so long. BTW: That is 7,317 blog posts!
Back story: I started my blog not long after I had lost 61 kilos going to Weight Watchers in Palmerston North.
I had gained 15 kilos and wanted to try and lose them ... I didn't.
Since then I have gone up and down numerous times.
Right NOW I am 25 kilos up from my lightest ever adult weight. So... I was up 15 kilos back in 2006, then add another 10 kilos as of today. If I can lose those 10 kilos, I'd be perfectly happy!
I thought I was FAT after gaining 15 kilos! I wasn't really.
ABOVE: Me at my heaviest, back in 2002 ish.
ABOVE: And me after I had lost 61 kilos, going to Weight Watchers.
I am in the same sweatshirt that I was wearing in the 'heaviest ever' photo.
Now looking at that photo, I realise I was not at a 'maintainable' weight, FOR ME.
ABOVE: And yes... here I am in that exact same sweatshirt, 23 years later (and older), and 25 kilos heavier. As I said, I really, really want to lose another 10 kilos. THEN I will be content. Can they PLEASE go off my boobs????? AND that sweatshirt is at least 35 years old, and I'm keeping it!
ABOVE: Stew back in 2002 ish.
ABOVE: And after he lost about 12 kilos in 2003.
ABOVE: Stew now, another 5-6 kilos lighter. I think he looks even more HUNKY NOW! I might be biased though. ππ
π
ABOVE: This photo was taken around 2004, and ... I still have that dress! One day I will wear it again.
Now, back to today.
I have some flyers to deliver around the village, to advertise the Craft Groups mini market at the end of the month.
Then I will be coming home to continue with the placemats.
Here's a few questions for YOU. How long have you been reading my blog? How did you find it? What keeps you reading it? Have we met in 'real' life?
ONWARD...
Goodness, what an achievement. And your current weight journey is going really well.
ReplyDeleteI read your blog pretty much every day and I don't know how long I've been a reader. Definitely since before you took Brylee in, because I remember how hard that time was.
You really deserve the happy calm life you've made for yourselves, and I really enjoyed the journey.
And no, we haven't met! I live in Wellington and visited the Waikato precisely once in the last decade π
ReplyDeleteChristine From Wellington
Happy Anniversary π I reckon it must be just a little bit later maybe 18 years I've been reading. Possibly was by WW but also your sewing. Lucky to have caught up a few times. I remember Steve and Bex were dating i think when i came to your place at the gardens... a long time π
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from reading someone elses blog that you commented on. I went to your blog and started reading it. I found it really interesting reading about your life and seeing parts of New Zealand. Typical me, if I find a book I like but it is number 10 or 15 in a series I have to read all those first, in order. Same with your blog. I went back to the beginning and started reading and have read every post since. I think you were in year 7. You mentioned on your post that Stew had said 'some nutter' is reading the blog from the beginning!! I've enjoyed it all. Oh, as we live 12,000km apparent it's unlikely that we'll ever meet in person, lol
ReplyDeleteI've been reading from day one. I saw you posting somewhere that you were starting a blog and started then. Yes, we've met many times :)
ReplyDeleteI've followed your blogg for a long time i think I found you on another blogger may have been Janine. Have meet a couple of times very special memories of our friendship
ReplyDeleteWow Chris, it has been a journey for you and for me. What I can't believe is that its been that long since I met you. Can remember you at mum and dads for some celebration LOL, just don't remember what it was. You look fabulous btw. You want it off your boobs, I want them to remain and it to come off my hips... never happy are we?! Congrats on your blogging. Its been lovely reading it now and then. However, it means we as people really don't make much of an effort to catch up in person - too easy to zip in and say hi here. My promise is that next time I am up your way, I will visit :-) Have a fab day lovely, Michele PN
ReplyDeleteI began following you after a blogger posted about you and If I remember rightly you were in a woman's magazine?? Just4jo was the blogger who directed me to you, so its been a blooming long time...well done for your perseverance in keeping a daily journal of your life's up and down, warts and all. wishing you another 20 years!
ReplyDeleteHoly Snapping Duck Shit long time that is!! I started reading before we got our wee Polly from you back about 15 years ago. Definitely met you more than once. Robyn π
ReplyDeleteI started reading when B and G were like 7 and 8 I was into reading lots of blogs at the time and came across yours and have been reading it daily since then. Today yours is the only blog I still read. I like reading about your day and what you are making and the craft fairs and sweet little Coco and the grandkids and cheering you on from Texas on your weight loss. You keep it real and I think thats why you have so many who still follow after years. Laurie
ReplyDeleteWell done for completing so many years! Shows stamina! I think I found you about 10 years ago and it was after a couple of holidays in NZ and I was interested in the weather and life, and I do/ did a bit of quilting. No I don’t think we have ever met and as I live in Wales it is probably unlikely to happen. I do admire your weight battle but looking at the photos you look pretty great all the time! In fact you and Stew look even better in the more recent ones - congratulations! πAnna in Wales UK.
ReplyDeleteI cant remember how long I've been checking your blog Chris but I remember Stew telling me about your blog in the office in PN. And there are many reasons why I have kept up with it.
ReplyDeleteIt has made me laugh and cheered me up when needed. I have an interest in your sewing since I got you started. Lol and we are friends, I thinΔ· lol, hopefully forever. Kj
I've probably been following your blog for close to 20 years. You were living in Palmerston North at the time. I believe Karen who was living in the Wellington region told me about your blog. No, we haven't met yet - but hopefully one day π. Congratulations on your 20 year commitment to blogging and wellbeing π·
ReplyDeleteI cant remember when i started reading your blog but it was before Amanda and Andrew got together. I did go back and read your blog from the begining
ReplyDeleteHi from memory I read your blog early in the piece and started blogging myself around that time. My first memory of you was at aqua jogging at the Lido. I think you are looking great now. Also people are telling me I’m now too thin - not a nice way to lose weight tho. Keep up the great work Chris -Anne palmy
ReplyDeleteWow 20 years! What an achievement to be proud of. I am not sure how long I have been reading but pretty much from the beginning. Seeing all the ups & downs (weight & family lol). We have met a few times - must catch up again soon π
ReplyDeleteI started reading your blog when (and because) Coco was expecting her first litter. My Mother in law told me about it. And some friend of hers told her. They are from Grand Forks, North Dakota USA. Do you know anyone from Grand Forks? Maybe I will ask her more details when I talk to her tonight. But, she knew I loved dogs. So she told me about you and Coco.
ReplyDeleteAlso - you have not aged day. WTH? That's not fair!
