THURSDAY IN AUSTRALIA

I totally forgot to show you the cabinet we bought for the corner in the bathroom.

Stew got to put it in place, as clearly I'm not home right now.

ABOVE: It fits there perfectly, and is going to be so handy.

ABOVE:  Heaps of room for spare kitchenware.  And possibly some linen as well.
I'm rapt with it.
There will be a hand towel rail on the right hand side of it, and possibly a couple of hooks as well.

Now, back to what's the haps here.  We will be going out and about again today, so I might not be on here too often during the day.

Things are very up in the air right now.

...
9.32 am. I spent the night sleeping on a couch. It wasn't half bad I must say. My sister is up 'n' down..  but a bit better today. I'm hoping to get back to the house later on today. I need a shower and change of clothes.

3.26 pm: And I am back at the B'n'B, grabbing a shower, more clothes, toiletries etc.

ABOVE:   *** PUBLISHED WITH ABSOLUTE PERMISSION***

My sister and I in the hospital.  Where we  have both been since yesterday.  And we will be there for the next day or two.  All going well, Lorraine will be discharged tomorrow or the next day.
I am staying with her at the hospital, so that her family can go about their nights, at least, kinda normally.  Lots of to'ing and fro'ing with little kids, appointments etc.
A very busy, hectic time for everyone.

I am now about to pack up everything I need and get picked up, and taken back to the hospital.

  2. You know me. Minimalist. If it doesn't fit in the kitchen - send it on it's way.
I would fill that cabinet with toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and lots and lots of warm towels!
I can sleep quite well on a couch, too! Glad you are there and able to be flexible with whatever may come your way!

I was thinking the same thing. Store the kitchen stuff in the kitchen. Pare down so it fits easily. I realize it is a small kitchen.

There are only two of you. I have a girl friend with six grown kids. She is having trouble thinking “two” instead of “eight”. I have found that myself too.

Also, I got rid of most of my plastic years ago because we only put glass in the microwave. I got glass that can go in the freezer, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. It has nice silicone lids that do not break when frozen. It takes up very little room. Our leftovers go in these and my husband then takes that as his lunch each workday.

Thanks for keeping us updated with your trip. Hope things are going well.

I’m hoping it’s a nice sunny day there while you’re out and about doing things
It’s wet and cold where we are so a snuggle down day for a change for us here,
Take care of each other there .
