First thing this morning I'm off for a walk, just in my neighbourhood today.
Starting the day really positively. It's so nice getting to say 'Hi' to people in my neighbourhood.
Then, once I get home, I'm probably going to get in me sewing room and do some sewing. Bound to be enjoyable, in my happy place.
Stew has been up in Auckland since yesterday morning, he's due home tonight. I really miss him when he's away.
But, once he's home ... it's Friday night. The start of another weekend. Yaaa.
Let's start the day!
11.35 am, and gosh I've had a busy morning!
First up, I decided to visit a few shops to suss out another new washing machine.
YES, our 'new' one is less than a year old, but I HATE IT.
I hate it so much I can't live with it any more.
1. I don't like having to literally get on the floor to load and unload it.
2. I hate how it leaves my towels feeling like cardboard, no matter how much conditioner/softener I put in the wash.
My 'walk' took 3 hours! Cos I walked around quite a few shops, looking at prices and models of washing machines, and also a new duvet cover.
In the end I didn't get the duvet cover as the one I thought would be lovely was almost $500, and too similar to the floral one I already have.
So I just settled on the washing machine, bought it and came home.
We shall pick it up tomorrow. SQUEALS!!! I'm really happy to be going back to a top loader, even if I do sometimes almost fall into it!
Gosh for some strange reason I have heaps of energy today! I am impressed with myself. 😆😇😊
It feels good, getting jobs done around the house quick smart today.
I've even emptied the trailer in readiness for picking up the washing machine tomorrow.
Darling is gunna love me.
Out jump men, they are fully kitted out... and they walk into the shop.
Stand there... look around... and come out and off they go again!
Weird.
ABOVE: The machine I bought. It's got a sparkly lid... which the sales girl thought was SUCH a selling point.
I asked her what was her BEST PRICE?
Then I rang the opposition and asked for theirs... in front of her.
She came down another hundred bucks. lol
So in the end I saved over $200 on the asking price.
ABOVE: The Base. Wasn't busy today. Got lots of walking done around here.
Silly me though. I was wearing THERMALS, cos it was damn cold outside.
I ended up roasting.
ABOVE: One of my favourite shops, Early Settler. I went in there to look at their bed linen. It was all monotone, nothing like what I was looking for.
I might like it.
Time will tell.
Lacy just called in ... got no left overs. Ha ha, Brylee took them last night.
So she left, with a lot of the branches and dead bushes that were in the trailer. She can burn them on the farm.
Brylee is due here soon. She's bringing donuts.
She's off work with a cold.
Next visitor? Steve. He called in to take the front loading machine out, so tomorrow we can just slot the new one in place.
Just as he left, Brylee arrived. No donuts. I'd had lunch and didn't want one after all.
Probably best. Not like I need donuts.
😖🐥🐤
Stew will be home in a few hours. Can't wait to see him.

Jesus. I can't believe you actually sold your washing machine to Brylee. It's not like you guys need the money! Talk about making someone's life a bit harder when she's just starting out on her own. Why are you so greedy? Is that another one of the reasons some of your kids don't talk to you? It's almost like you don't have a maternal bone in your body. Not sure if anyone has told you, but you don't have to be mean and make other people's lives hard all the damn time.

OK ANON: Let's get this straight. It's none of your fucking business what I do and don't do.
But for your information ... I GAVE the machine to Brylee.
I didn't make her pay a cent.
But I did say I sold it to her, so people JUST LIKE YOU didn't accuse me of wasting money buying a new machine and not keeping the other one.
Seems it doesn't matter what I do or don't say, HATERS GUNNA HATE.
I don't think I'll bother trying to cover my back any more.

Of course you gave it to her for free. You don't earn any money or bring an income into your house so it means nothing to you. Stew will be working until he's 80 because you are to lazy to get a job.

Ahhhh ANON, you really are a sad git ain't ya? Go away and sit in a corner, you are being very nasty. And your stupid words don't bother us at all.
And I won't be posting any more, so don't waste ya time.
Awww thank you Brylee, we love you. And I'm sure the washing machine will come in handy when you finally get your own place.
And there ya go... another day done and dusted, and another point proven. STALKED.
How sad that some people have nothing better to do with their days.
It is most unsettling when you know someone is stalking you. I always find that behaviour really strange and the people who do it even stranger. I guess that's one of the pitfalls of the internet. Too many opportunities for weirdos to watch other people just minding their own business.
ReplyDeleteYep. I know EXACTLY who reads my blog for the express purpose of finding fault, or just wanting to find something to make false accusations over, or make mischief. And so many of them are 'family' or ex-family, or wanna be family. Sad people really. But it gives me pleasure knowing they take time out of their day to check up on ME. lol Like... Hi! Having a lovely life here. How ya doing?
DeleteHi yip i am having a lovely day thanks 😁😂🤣
DeleteSorry just have to be annoying coz well why not lol 😂

I don't get it either, I have had to close down my blog because there were sometimes 50 hits on it and only one person would comment (you know who you are LOL and I've tried to find you on FB btw). It was creeping me out and I miss having it but it's not worth the uneasiness. I'm going back to writing in an actual book but it's not the same. I love my front loader but I can understand why you don't.
ReplyDeleteFoxy you can reach me via my blog. If it's me you're looking for ......
DeleteI can't find it!
DeleteI rather like my top loader. I know if I had to I'd get used to a front loader but in the meantime they are a no from me.
ReplyDeleteDaughter recently got a front loader and loves it. She finds her washing is much cleaner. We put it up on a drawer for her last weekend. Much easier for the 2 year old to sit and watch the washing go round and round lol
ReplyDeleteI do not like front loaders at all. So I totally understand going back to a top loader. I have a neighbor with a huge front loader and once or twice a year she washes a couple oversize bed spreads/quilts for me. So they are helpful for that. But for regular washing, not so much.
ReplyDeleteThats the same washing machine I've got. I love it as its big and fits lots of washing. But there are 2 things I didn't think about before buying. It's really deep and sometimes its hard to get to the bottom and I'm 5'7. And the 20 minute cycle can only be for low water level loads.
ReplyDeleteI also had to get a water hammer arrestor ($50 from Bunnings) for the cold water inlet as my cold water is high pressure. when fulling the machine stops and starts the water to mix in the washing powder and the on/off is very sudden. This made the pipes bang horribly and I thought they would break if I didn't do something about it. The water arrestor fixed it, no loud banging anymore.
Im all for top loaders hope your new machine has an agitator mine doesnt the washing come out in knots hate it...since moving its also taken to leaking so guess new washing machine be on my list along with new fridge...my new teeth get pushed further along the list oh well so far no teeth has been good for weight loss lol..hope Stew had a good trip home from Auckland have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteHey Felicity, im with you on the top loader washing maching with the agitator buzzzz, i not a fan of front loaders and tangeled up washing lol 😂
Delete#Lacy 💙
I love my front loader. I love the way it washes clothes and doesn't tie them in knots and I really struggled to get stuff out of the bottom of my top loader. Horses for courses!
ReplyDeleteWe're in bloody lockdown again. Keep posting pictures of your excursions - I can live vicariously through you - if that's not too stalky 😁😁😁
Wow, you have had a busy day :-). I have a huge 8.5kg top loader, great for big loads, all 3 of us can do our washing in one load most weeks but I do struggle to get things out of the bottom since I am so short.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy day! Hope the new washing machine is more to your liking. I feel like all I do is bloody washing 😬 I would have been devastated if I was expecting a donut 🍩 🤣
ReplyDeleteWow. Just Wow re that comment from Anonymous. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that kind of nonsense. Thank you again for sharing your life with your readers.
ReplyDeleteAnd how kind of you to provide your granddaughter with an almost new washing machine.
A Fan in Canada
Thank you Mum for giving me the washing machine! You give me so many things when I left home! Furniture, linen, kitchenware, fan, tv, you name it! Best of all, shes done the same for most of us when we left home. We all love you and are grateful for what you and Dad have given us.
ReplyDeleteBrylee
Well done Brylee standing up for your mum. She has raised you with love and care and helped you to be independent and growing into a lovely young lady.
DeleteWhat lovely words :) Obviously caring and thoughtfulness is in the genes! Best of luck in your new place x
DeleteYou made me eye leak today Brylee :) Been following your mom's blog for years now and what a wonderful, hard working woman you've turned out to be. So proud of you and your accomplishments.

FFS unbelievable from anon! What the hell compels people to even think of that and then write it, I fear for our future when there are people out there who think like that
ReplyDeleteAnd are probably parents to young children and influence their thinking. Sorry have had a few wines lol
Love your reply Margaret! (It’s just turned wine o’clock here in Sydney, Australia) Cheers 🥂
DeleteI’ve been tossing up about getting a front loader washing machine but since I’ve been reviewing them I’ve found a lot of negative reviews about them. Your blog today has settled my mind (and my husband’s). Top loader it is. Love your blog as I’m sure all your genuine readers do. Have a great weekend 🥰
ReplyDeleteFirstly whether you sold or have the washing machine to Brylee is nobody’s business. Secondly either it is the same “anon” and they are batshit crazy or it is 2 different ones which proves that apparantly whatever you do some nameless troll will take offence. Nice comment/response from Brylee 💕
ReplyDeleteRegarding that ottoman in front of the lounge suite - if you put a nice tray on it, it will become a really handy coffee table as well!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, I do have something in mind for it, to enable it to be used as a coffee table too.
DeleteI guess anon just proves the point of the title of this post!!
ReplyDeleteI have given stuff to our kids and I have sold stuff to our kids. The price is usually a hug. If it's really expensive then an errand might be negotiated! Regardless, it's nobody else's business. But I guess the anons of this world are so self entitled, uneducated and ill-mannered they won't get that.
Awwww you are all such a gorgeous family and I love following your adventures - b*gger the meanies. They are jealous AF and clearly trying to rain on your parade. We won't let 'em! (Been awol due to surgery/falling over and a whole load of stressful stuff) but am BAAAAAAAACK now lol:). Also so glad you have a lovely new doctor - very important that we gel with our docs. Take care and Happy Friday x
ReplyDeleteMum, don’t bother about the keyboard warriors, trolls and oxygen thief’s, they have no place in your world, let the comments go into the fire and burn out… as for you anon, our mum is amazing, caring and supportive, it’s a shame you need to find time in your day to attempt to trash someone’s mum… I hope you don’t treat your own mother like this. Go wash your mouth out with soap and sit in the corner. …. Love you mum xx
ReplyDeleteLOL... imagining idiot sitting in the corner with soap suds comin' out their mouth!
DeleteA toxic foaming corner that would be. I hope they find peace in themselves soon.
DeleteI thought I had seen everything on the internet but for someone to come onto YOUR blog and spew such vitriol is disgusting, and so sad for them. I love being able to help my kids out, my parents couldn't really do it for me but did as much as they could, that's what parents do. We just gave our daughter a near new microwave because it didn't suit the colour scheme of our new kitchen. Stick that in your pipe anon (if that's really your name) ;)
ReplyDeleteSome people are cowardly chickens, although chickens are nice animals and it seems unfair to liken them cowardice. Some people are beyond belief.
ReplyDeleteOh my god creepy is just a foul mouth troll
ReplyDeleteGosh some people are just plain nasty. Pure jealousy so it seems. Have a good weekend. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour anon comments are certainly a study in psychology and sociology, that is for sure. You are right, no matter which way you post it, they look for offense. (You are smart to delete but I am sure it is hard to ignore.)
ReplyDeleteSince you use your blog to keep track of life, it is probably smart to stay accurate. I for one assumed you had sold it to her for a few dollars. Free is good too.
Another blogger once wrote “everything here is true, but not every true thing is here.” I think that is a good philosophy.
On this subject, did the free car find a home in your extended family or did the mechanic recommend selling? Maybe you said and I missed it. Ironically we were gifted a free car this year. It had little $$$ volume because it is an old model, but it looks and runs great. It is handy as an extra car and we put a cover over the backseat and are using it as our “dog” car and also for hauling because the trunk is huge. It made me remember your free car anon drama.
Gosh, it sounds like you can't win with Anonymous no matter what you do. IGNORE her/his comments. Not worth the aggravation:)
ReplyDeleteOh Dear. People all over this planet can b so nosey and stupid! I laughed when I read that you "sold" it to Brylee. Haha. I was like, what? For a dollar maybe! I am not a fan of the front loader although it is the only thing that fits in my tiny space. I have washer/dryer stacked. I think I was the ONLY one that wasn't in love with front loaders back when you were contemplating the purchase. My clothes come out twisted into ropes every time!
ReplyDeleteTodays post just proves you can't please everyone! I wonder if that was the same Anon. That would be some serious Hypocrisy!
I've only bought top loaders. We have really hard water so I'm not wasting the extra money for the fancy machines. They only last about 5 years here.
ReplyDeletePeople really need to get a life worrying about you buying a new washer. Like wtf is it to anyone else.
