After telling myself to do it for YEARS, I finally did it last night!
It took me a good 3 hours, but it's so worth it.
No more tracing out the letters in paper every time I want to do a name. YAAAAaaaa!
TODAY: I will be in the studio from 9 - 2 today. Working on the latest cot quilt and opening the little shop.
ONWARD...
*** so cold, so tired, did not want to get outta bed this morning ***
But I did. I'm in my studio with the heat pump on, waiting to warm up so I can actually get some work done.
It's one of those days, can't make up it's mind what to do. Rain? Sunshine? But at least there is not a fog this morning.
And.... 11.15 am and the sun is out! Lovely.
Back to me sewing.... when I went on my fabric shopping trip in January I saw some yellow/orange fabric that was kinda ikkk, but I got some anyway, thinking it had potential. I needed to build up my yellow and orange stash as well right? *smiles*
And today?
I found the perfect use for it, and I'd even SHOW you... but blogger is being a friggin bitch right now and won't let me upload photos.... waiting... waiting...
ABOVE: on the left is the quilt I'm working on, and it's stars. On the right is the ikky yellow/orange fabric. PERFECT for stars!!!
1.30 pm: Time to pack up for the day... I've got to do the grocery shopping next.
Now that I do it weekly, it's nowhere near as torturous!
LOL.... I almost don't mind it.
Just one lady in the shop today, but she bought a lovely runner and is keen on another one... "another day".
ABOVE: I got a few slightly puffy stars made for the quilt this morning, and am working on octopus arms now. More to do ... tomorrow.
8.30 pm: whoops I did it again. Big gap between updates! Sorry Sparkling!
Well... I went grocery shopping, got way more than I planned on getting. Got it all home and put it away. That took me a while.
Then I finally sat down for brunch at ... 4 pm!!! Yep, I had not eaten all day.
I had a sausage roll that I got from the supermarket. It was not nice at all. Dry mince and mixed veges held together with some ikkky pastry. So disappointing.
And it's given me heartburn. So I've been feeling horrid for the past few hours.
Not done anything else. Just feel sick. And really, really tired.
I'm now sitting watching TV and knitting bunting. I like knitting bunting! It's relaxing.
COVID-19: NZ 1504. 22 Lives Lost. ZERO active cases, and no new cases for 20 days.
I love the way that you just get on with it and do the things that you love no matter what! I wish so much I could do that too. I want so badly to craft and get back to my blog, but I can't pull out of all this shit going on in my city. The riots, the destruction, the nasty awful people that I keep wasting time fighting with on social media. It sucks all of my energy and any creative joy that I have.
ReplyDeleteI really envy the way that you plan out your days and focus on your family and create so much happiness for yourself! Can I be you when I grow up? Just kidding! We are close to the same age.
Anyway, thanks for being such an inspiring person!
Laura

You've been quiet again today. Hopefully a busy productive quiet.
ReplyDeleteSome little person is going to be happy with that quilt. Shopping here is still problematic. Looking forward to the day when I don't have to line up. Take care.
