5.39 am.
And it is FREEZING. And I feel so groggy, getting up this early really doesn't suit me at all.
Luckily we don't do this too often. I can't imagine people who do this EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!
F that.
So anyway, we choose to do this so I really shouldn't bitch about it.
We are going to have a good day weather wise, once the fog clears. No rain like last time we were at the Cambridge Market.
And today we will have Bex with her stall right next to us all going well.
So, let's get on with it. I'll be back once we are all set up.
ONWARD...
.
ABOVE: We are literally CRAWLING on the expressway because of incredibly thick FOG. It's scary. I hope Bex is OK.
Well... Bex was OK, she got to market before us even. We are now all set up, the fog has lifted and the sun is trying to fight through the overcast sky.
ABOVE: And there we all are. Waiting for the shoppers. If they have any sense, they are still in bed!
8.05 am, and a bloke walked by. And he glanced in and said "WOW". I love it when that happens. He stopped and we chatted for a moment. Nice eh.
It is now 11.30 and we have NOT made a sale yet!!!! It is cold and miserable. The fog keeps coming down, making it even worse. I'm thinking its going to be a NSD day = a NO SALE DAY. At least Bex has had some sales.

11.43 am, and NOW ITS DRIZZLING. GRRRRR.
1.55 pm: The day did not get any better, I actually started packing up half an hour BEFORE the end of market! I don't think I've ever done that before.
It was just so cold and horrible, and a NSD to boot. That's only the second time ever we've not sold a thing. Bex did better, lucky girl.
The weather in Cambridge was completely overcast, and the fog kept coming down repeatedly. By the time we arrived back in Hamilton it was sunny, but is it now clouding over as well.
As you can imagine, I am now in me lounge chair with the heated throw on, and the heat pump on as well. The house is very cold too.
I'm looking forward to dinner, not because I'm hungry, but because I'm just tired and want the comfort of eating something nice and HOT.
Right, it's now 8 pm. We've had dinner, and are now just chillin' out. I fully expect to be in bed in the next hour! We are both knackered.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Good luck for the market π and Bex too. Unfortunately I wake up this early every day for work so i can never bloody sleep in on weekends any more...my body defaults to a 5am upπ We have more fog today... hopefully a nice day for you guys
ReplyDeleteDriving in thick fog is scary. Glad you made it safely. And now sunshine. Wonderful. Best of sales to you and Bex. Enjoy the day
ReplyDeleteAww hopefully by now you’re packing up and the day brightened up sun and sale wise,
ReplyDeleteAlso for Bex
You certainly have loads of resilience to tackle the fog
Hope alls well with you both now you’ll be snuggled up warm π₯ππΊπΏπΈ☕️☕️
Sorry it was a "no sale day" but great that Bex had a profitable day.
ReplyDeleteAwwww mate that stinks get warm comfort food movie nap and enjoy stew being home!
ReplyDeleteBugger about NSD but good for Bex. I suppose different markets have different shoppers and different price points as to what is sold. I think some markets have a mindset for people of the small bargains they can get and they are not prepared to pay for larger items with a bigger price tag. Not sure really, just my thinking that’s all
ReplyDeleteYep getting up at 5am 5 mornings a week sucks lol
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to hear you spent a cold drizzly day with no sales. What a huge disappointment and 'how dare they!!!'
ReplyDeleteHappy for Bex though.
I’m waiting to hear how the koala cloth go or do we have to wait for the cleaning lady to turn up? π€£
ReplyDeleteSorry about a no sale day. I'm sure the deeply weather didn't help.
ReplyDeleteUgh, that stinks. No sales... BOO
