FIRST DOUBLE GLAZING COMPANY COMING

RETROFIT is coming to do a consultation with me this morning, for possibly getting double glazing in here.

Joyce will be going back to the hospital later on this morning to visit her brother Frank, then she will head back to Auckland

I will catch the bus after the glazing company has been, and visit Frank as well.  That bus is so neat, I won't have to worry about parking at all.

And as anyone who has visited a hospital knows, parking is a nightmare at the best of times.

ABOVE: Joyce reading a newspaper last night.  I didn't think anyone did that any more!  Like, I haven't read a newspaper in probably 40 years!  I gave her shit for it too... she just laughed.  OMG she did look so studious. (to me)

Humble apologies to other people who read news papers.  I'm sure you don't look like dicks.  No really... not at all.  😂😉😂

ABOVE:  Lacy putting Britto in our old china cabinet.  That cabinet got moved to the other side of the lounge, and the 'new' cabinet is now where that one was.

I couldn't believe how much effort it took just incorporating one more china cabinet into the lounge!

It took 2.5 hours of hard work... we had to move the couch several times to allow movement into new spots, and those couches are bloody heavy as.

Then of course, getting all the Britto out of the existing cabinet, then distributing it between two cabinets... it was fun ... I think.  😂😅😉

It is done now, and when I get a chance, I will take photos to show you.

I am in love with the new cabinet btw.

ONWARD...

2 pm. I'm stuck at the chemist waiting for medications.  Proper update once I get home.

3.20 and I'm finally home.

The glazing guy arrived bang on 9, and left by 9.30.  I already have his quote.  Two more companies coming tomorrow and Wednesday, then we make up our minds.

Joyce and I went up to the hospital in her car.  Visited with Frank for about 2 hours.  It was lovely to catch up with Joyce, Frank, Frank's wife Noleen and one of their sons (my cousin).

ABOVE: Frank is looking good!  By now he will have had another angiogram, then another procedure to check how the stent is doing.  IF all is well, they will probably let him go home tomorrow.

He can't wait.  He's in an extremely busy ward, with doctors and nurses stationed slap bang in the middle of it... it is super busy, and super loud.  It reminded me of an ER station, with beds everywhere, and doctors and nurses flitting between everyone.

ABOVE: Poor Joyce, she was trying so hard to get a photo of her brother... but her phone simply would not behave.  Personally, I believe it was 'operator error'.  lol  Frank said the same thing.

FYI:  All photos were taken with permission, and allowed to be published on here.

After our visit, Joyce and I had lunch at the hospital cafeteria, then Joyce left for Auckland, and I went to catch a bus.

ABOVE: While waiting for the bus at the hospital, I got to watch the rescue helicopter taking off.  VERY LOUD.

To think Frank was in one of those, coming over from Tauranga just a couple of days ago!  He is so, so lucky that the ambulance got to him within 15 minutes of his heart attack starting, and he could be saved.

On my way home, I stopped at the Doctors, expecting to only make an appointment.  But they said if I waited half an hour the Doctor would see me!

So I stayed.

UPSHOT:  I stay on Trulicity, but only once a week for a while.  Because it is what's best for me.

ABOVE: AND I take goddam laxatives, at a higher dose than I've tried before.  If it doesn't work, I'm to go back and see him again.

I'M SCARED of going back on the Trulicity, but *sigh*... I will do as I'm told.  (for once)

Back on the bus, and home after over 5 hours out and about!  I stopped in to say 'Hi' to the ladies at Craft Group, which clearly I missed today.

NOW?  I might just put me feet up and relax for a little while.

Well, that 'little while' lasted for the rest of the afternoon and evening!  Totally lazy, but I am really tired after having a crap sleep last night.

And that's me for now, catch ya tomorrow.

    1. Yes she does look a lot like my Mum... especially her eyes. When she opens her mouth and talks though... NOTHING LIKE MY MUM. I would recognise Joyce's voice in a crowded room. lol Her brother Frank looks a lot like 'family' too.

A dreary day here after 8 days all my boxes are unpacked I’ve worked 6 nights though inbetween and only had 12 boxes picking up some more tomorrow then I’m done.

  3. You refer to Joyce as your mother's sister but you don't refer to Frank as your mother's brother, only Joyce's brother? Did he have a different mother? Just wondering.

    1. Perhaps in the writing I didn't need to ? Yes, Frank is my mother's brother. My Mum was the eldest of 10 kids in her family. 5 girls first, then 5 boys. My Grandmother had her last son and 18 months later my Mother had her first son. So we are very close in age to Mum's brothers.

    2. OK so Joyce is your auntie and Frank is your uncle, I just wondered why you didn't refer to them as that but clear now :)

    3. When I was young I referred to them as Uncle and Aunty, but now I just call them by their names. Frank is only 9 years older than me, and while Joyce is quite a bit older, she doesn't mind me dropping the 'Aunty'. It's the same with all of my Mum's siblings now. My brothers and sister and I were the first grandchildren in that side of the family, I have cousins that are much younger than me, my youngest first cousin is 48 years younger than me!

I completely miss reading physical newspapers, especially the BIG one the day before Thanksgiving for Black Friday - it was huge. Reading online or a kindle or on phone not as enjoyable and hard on the eyes, too. Glad Frank got quick response for his heart attack!! All the best, Dawn P. USA

  7. I'm all caught up I was a bit behind reading lol. That is great your uncle is doing ok and nice to have your aunt there visiting even if it is under a bit of a stressful situation. Love the heart pillow and your new rug! I kind of missing reading the paper. I don't even think they have them here anymore. I used to get our local paper and then it went to only once a week (years ago) so I was like well that's a waste haha.

  8. I was hoping your doctor would change from Trulicity to a different medication. Happy news on Frank's recovery.
