'W' told me yesterday that he would finish the driveway today.
He just has to put the concrete 'anchoring' strips around the edges, cover them with soil and grass seed and it will be done. I wonder if he will actually put the soil and grass seed down today?
I suppose I'll find out eh?
ABOVE: That's how the extension looked yesterday afternoon.
ABOVE: Stew and I are very impressed with the attention to detail... I love it! I know it's 'only' a driveway at the end of the day, but it's bloody lovely.
The left hand side is going to be the 'walkway' to the front door now.
My plans for the day? Think I'll make a couple more Tote Bags. I've got some fabric already cut out.
While I do that, Stew can lounge around in the house, watching sport on the telly, or a movie on Netflix.
I suppose I better get up and make him breakfast...
Catch ya later.
ONWARD...
11 am and MEH. I feel like death warmed up. So shitty with this cold and sore throat. I tried having a mid morning nap.. no luck. Wasn't really tired, just feeling ikkk.
Stew is doing great, his knee is still hugely swollen, but I think I can see some improvement with that today. He's getting around much easier and his pain is under control on a whole.
ABOVE: The concrete is going down, and 'W' said the soil and grass seed will go down today as well. He is going to 'barricade' the driveway so no one drives on it until the concrete is set. He reckons it will be totally fine by late Saturday or Sunday. I can wait. It will be worth it at the end of the day.
I'm now going to do an hour or so in C.Q's, before getting our lunch.
2.30 pm and I've been sewing for a couple of hours now. Getting things done.
'W' has finished the driveway, and is just watering the grass seed. I'm now taking a little break for a late lunch (Stew's already had his).
Someone asked me if any of the neighbours have made a comment about the driveway yet?
YES. Two have said it looks very good.
And the ARESHOLE to our side/back, who made us lose our shed? He drove past yesterday while I was out there with 'W', and 'L' from the village. He drove INCREDIBLY SLOWLY, looking in at our place the entire time ... it's a wonder he didn't drive into something, he certainly was not looking where he was going!
I couldn't help myself.. and said "Take a photo why don't ya"?
I do believe 'L' sniggered. He's well aware of how much of an arse that man is.
If there's been any negativity about it, I've not heard. And ...
TOO LATE. It's done. A fait accompli. Come Sunday my car will be permanently at my actual home.
ABOVE: Done and dusted. The barricade will be up till 'W' comes back on the weekend.
I shall water the grass seed every day, it won't be long before it grows.
ABOVE: One Tote Bag done, and the second one of the day is about 50% done. I don't know if I'll get it finished today, my batteries ran down.
Lacy called in to check up on us... that was nice.
She's doing well, keeping busy with her cute little home, her two cats and a bunch of guppies (fish), that's she's breeding.
:Lacy wants you all to know she is not 'breeding' guppies, they are just doing it all by themselves. She didn't set out to have 30 baby guppies!! 😂😅😆
It's now 8.36 pm, and I've just finished a second bag for the day. I'll have to show you tomorrow, as it's now dark outside. I like to use my tree as a prop. lol
Catch ya tomorrow.

I am happy to see that he moved the first paver. It was lined up yesterday instead of offset by half a brick. Now, it is offset - and it really is perfect. The whole thing! When can you park there? Today - or does it need a settling in stage?
ReplyDeleteI said yesterday... we can't park on it for 2-3 days, to allow the concrete to set.
DeleteW did a great job, very neat work
ReplyDeleteWow it really does look beautiful. NO ONE can complain about that!!! It will be so great to see Yr car outside the door 👍😄
ReplyDeleteHe's done a lovely job with the pavers. It's always nice to see a job well done. Great to have it done before winter too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice! It will be nice to have your car parked there. I'd probably hit that light though haha
ReplyDeleteLooks good! Any comments from the other residents yet? KarenAK
ReplyDeleteThe driveway does look really nice, and if it wasn't used for a car - a patio table or something would look nice there.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I was thinking. It could be used for a bench/planter, table/chairs.
DeleteWhen the car is not there it is still lovely, because it does not look like a parking spot.
Vickie
Looks wonderful. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference it makes!
ReplyDeleteW has done a great job, hope it’s eating at the gig, great idea you came up with Chris Robyn x
Pavers look good Chris. No point anyone complaining it was all done with the correct approval
ReplyDeleteThe drive/parking extension looks great and no issues like your drive in other house. Good to hear Stew is feeling better hope he gets a good report when next sees the surgeon. He has a loving nurse lol
ReplyDeleteWow that looks fab. Just looks like it's always been there. Will be such an asset. So pleased Stew is feeling better. Kj
ReplyDeletehaha good for you for telling him to take a picture. I'm sure he'll complain. What a miserable person.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the nicest driveways I have ever seen. Now you both have parking. It's too bad the village only has 1 car garages since most folks have 2 vehicles.
