OMG I'M AN IDIOT!

For weeks, I've not felt right in myself.

Apart from the 'shituation', now resolved.. I have been experiencing overwhelming tiredness, I've been getting the shakes and feeling light headed.

I really was a bit worried, wondering what the hell was going on.

When I was walking in town on Friday, for some reason the damn PENNY DROPPED!

I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me much sooner.

LOW BLOOD SUGARS.

DERRRRRRR.

I am not eating enough.  Certainly not enough carbohydrates to keep my blood sugars up.

I mean, how stupid can I be not to work that one out sooner?

Taking Trulicity not only acts as an appetite suppressant, but it's also a true Diabetes medication, just like Metformin and all the others you can be on.   It has been working to lower my blood sugar levels.  Meanwhile, I'm starving my body of fuel, carbs in particular.

So yeah, I feel like a right twat/idiot.

So now I am working on adding in a bit more carbs to me daily meal, and having a couple of snacks of fruit morning and evening as well.  That should work.

Stew reckons I should have a piece of toast at breakfast time, so maybe I'll do that, and have a slightly smaller midday meal.  It's certainly a balancing act, even for a Type 2 Diabetic.

Today it is the FBG's End Of Year Celebration over in Cambridge.  While I've not been an active member this year (way too much going on), I am going.  I love catching up with everyone.  That will be mid morning till mid afternoon... so I'll catch ya later.

ONWARD...
...

2.30 pm and I'm home. Stew was hard at work trying to make the new shelving unit fit in the linen cupboard.  There was some swearing involved.

Once he got it sorted out, we have come out for him to have a Kebab for his lunch.

When we get home I will start organising the linen.

ABOVE:  What I wore out today... a dress I paid $3 for way, way back when I worked in the Manukau Hospice Shop!  And one of the lightweight 'jackets' I got while in Australia recently.

ABOVE: Lunch at the FBG celebration.  It was very nice, heaps of food. Way too much food!

ABOVE:  One of our FBG MEN loves chocolate fish, and that was his contribution towards our lunch!  Very clever 'P'.

ABOVE: Stew hard at work, huffing and puffing, having to re-position the sliding doors so they would close.

I love the new shelves in there, I will have a bit more room for linen now.

Well, I do believe I've overindulged on shit food today.  And there's not much time between now and Tuesday night to  mitigate the damage.  Oh well... I'm probably due for a freakin' gain anyway.

I'm off to bed now, it's 10.20 pm and I'm tired.

Catch ya tomorrow.

My son takes Monjuaro for his diabetes (which is similar to Trulicity) and, unbeknownst to us, one of the "possible" side effects (meaning they may be avoiding publishing the data to save lawsuits) is diabetic retinopathy. He was just diagnosed with this and now has to take injections in his eye that's most affected for several months. The other eye is showing signs as well. Just wanted to pass this along in case you haven't had your eyes checked and you get vision changes as well.

I have copied and pasted this....
Advancing Hope for Diabetic Retinopathy: New Insights from ...
Mounjaro does not directly cause diabetic retinopathy, but the rapid improvement in blood sugar it causes can lead to a temporary worsening of pre-existing diabetic retinopathy. This can result in symptoms like blurry vision, and it is crucial for individuals with diabetic retinopathy to be closely monitored by their doctor, especially when starting the medication. The drug's prescribing information includes a warning about this potential complication and emphasizes that Mounjaro has not been studied in patients with diabetic retinopathy.

Apparently ALL diabetic medications have the potential to increase the chance of worsening diabetic retinopathy....but if can all settle down again....Peta

  4. It’s almost 13 years since my diagnosis and I still have two slices of toast for breakfast every morning. It works for mr and it’s easy for hubby to make for me at 5am lol

Chris , The wall hanging, the one with all of the blues and purples that is hanging on the wall by where your hubby is working, (the last picture in this post,) is so gorgeous!! I saw it back when you first finished it, but I'd forgotten how much I love it and how absolutely lovely it is!! It's really stunning!!
