DAY OFF

Today we both get to sleep/lie in.
Stew has taken the day off work, so he can actually have a little break.  The past three days have been rather busy, so he wanted a day 'off'.

Once we decide to get outta bed, I think we are going for a walk, followed by a nice lunch out.

I also want to suss out a new phone.  Sadly, paying through the nose for a new battery for my current phone has not stopped it from going flat super fast!   I am rather annoyed about that.
So we will talk to the man who put the new battery in two weeks ago,  to see if there's any solution before deciding what to do.

And that is all we have planned for our day, so... catch ya later.

11.35 am and we have been out and about.
Done some banking - first time I've used a money deposit machine. And luckily I had a bank teller showing me how to do it, because the machine had a glitch and stopped working! It got sorted eventually,  thanks to the lady who was helping me.
On to look at new phones.
Sussed out the best deal, at Noel Leeming...

ABOVE: My new phone!
I went for one with the best camera. Now I just have to learn how to use it.
We are off to have some lunch now, while the phone charges up.

ABOVE: The new phone, with it's new case and screen protector.

I knew there would be some 'work' to do to reinstall and sign into many of my phone's apps, but OMFG!!!!

What a nightmare this is.
No wonder it's been 5 years + since I got a new phone.
Seriously want to scream, so frustrating.
Remembering passwords?
OMG
I have quite a few passwords saved in 'My Notes', but some of them just don't work!
WHY???
I am having to redo so many of them.
Such a lot of time this shit it taking.
And I'm getting my tits in a right knot.

THEN Stew decides to munch on an ice cream IN MY EAR... Well close enough, in the next chair over.
But I can't stand listening to anyone eat... so I had to leave the room.

I'm fuming.   Getting a new phone is not supposed to take you hours and hours of frustration to get it all set up, surely?

Think of me... but mostly STEW, cos I am fit to KILL.

On a positive note... cos there is one... it's PRETTY RIGHT?   And at some point I will finally get to check out the camera features.
But not yet.  I'm still dicking around with getting all me apps working.

4.28 pm:  I finally got to take some photos.

ABOVE: Using zoom in... fine details on a begonia leaf.
Not crisp enough, I probably moved a bit.

ABOVE: Coco... being adorable and NOT wanting to look at the camera.  As per usual.

ABOVE:  Very happy with that one!  Crisp.  Clear.  Detail is excellent.  Who needs a super expensive camera now days eh?

I want to find an insect next, but we have NO BUGS in this house!  Drat.

8.28 pm:  And I have done all I can on the new phone for the day.  I feel like I've got it 90% sorted, just got to work on a couple of things tomorrow.
And that's a wrap on the day.
It's been good, and slightly frustrating.
Ending well though.
I AM HAPPY with the new phone.

Why didn’t you get the shop to do it for you. I bought new iPhone and young boy at Apple store did the whole lot for me for free. Walked out the shop and life went on. Marie, Melbourne

  5. Don't Samsung phones update automatically like iPhones? When I get a new phone (or Stu or my daughter etc) you just hold the old phone near the new phone and it automatically switches over. Takes a few minutes and it's all done, passwords and all.

    1. I just googled it, it's called Smart Switch and Samsung have this. You should just let one phone talk to the other and it will be completely updated.

    2. Everything on my old phone did automatically switch over to the new phone, but I still had to sign back into about half my apps, like Facebook, Samsung Health, Instgram etc. Very frustrating!

I have this phone. Because my previous one was a Samsung as well it literally just copied everything over to the new phone. I didn't have to do anything! xx Colleen

  8. I hate changing phones. I have the same frustrations with those damn passwords. I write them all down and then they damn well don't work. I recently had to delete a half a dozen apps because my phone didn't have space. Now I'm reloading and I cannot believe the bloody things I get asked.
    A pox on them all
