Today I'm off to patchwork. And it's the Patchwork Christmas Lunch too... so hopefully it's a nice morning.
I've got to do something about an 'ABBA' outfit this week!
A group of us FBG girls are going to the ABBA concert next Saturday night and I have done NOTHING about my 'outfit'.
I have a dress in my wardrobe that I'm thinking of cutting the length off and using it somehow.
So... wish me luck on that. I really don't want to spend any money on a 'one night only' thing.
I will probably do that at patchwork this morning.
There is also a Christmas get together this Wednesday night that I've been invited to ... and I have to take a Christmas Decoration that is 'classy'... but something tells me it's really supposed to be a bit naughty! Another challenge! lol
Now that the FBG Urban Challenge is over, I'm really missing all the walks! We are going to have a few 'social' walks now and then, but there really won't be many. So, I'm gunna have to do lots of swimming in the pool and going on walks in the evenings now. I might even do one tonight, drag Stew out with me.
And ... that's all I have to yabber on about right now... not much really eh?
ONWARD...
1.00 pm: And I'm home from the Christmas Lunch.
I hate complaining BUT.... we all paid $15 for lunch.
It was 'partly catered' and partly supplied by a few of the ladies.
There were approx 35 of us, so that's $525 towards food and drink right?
OK, so there was:
- 1 bottle of fruit juice
- 1 bottle of lemonade
Now, when I say 'plates' I mean NORMAL SIZED DINNER PLATES:
- 2 plates of club sandwiches.
- 1 plate of fish pieces and prawn pieces
- 1 plate of sushi
- 1 plate of salad rolls
- 1 plate of luke warm mini pies and sausage rolls
- a platter of strawberries
- a bowl of cut up pineapple
- a bowl of cut up rock melon
- a plate of home made meringues
- a 2 litre tub of ice cream
- a small bowl of cream.
AND finally, about 6 chicken drumsticks... which looked like this:
So, I think someone is laughing all the way to the bank. Most of the ladies sitting with me all thought the same as me... PISS POOR lunch!
And now, I'm heading down town to look at the Christmas display in the Town Hall.
Back from the town hall... which had some gorgeous Christmas Trees all decorated in different themes, and a shop selling decorations.
ABOVE: These are the decorations I bought. Two are for gifts at parties this week.
Once home, I got a visit from a girlfriend, who brought along a friend of her's who was looking for a Christmas Runner.
And she ended up buying one of my big Runners. Yaaaa, more in the kitty for projects around here. *smiles*
edited: Our next project is to frame up the door way leading into the lounge and add a sliding door. That way the room can be closed off when someone is sleeping in there.
Steve is going to do that for us over this summer. Bless his heart, such a helpful son.
10.15 pm: I started, and finished a little project this evening. I will show you it tomorrow.
At the moment, seriously, it feels like there's not enough hours in the day, I've got so much I want to do, make, attend and so on!
But... just taking one day at a time... it will all unfold as it's meant to I'm sure.
But for now, I am going to relax for a couple of hours before bedtime.
First off I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick
ReplyDeletequestion which I'd like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and
clear your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
Thanks!
Wow you are busy. For a classy decoration get a candle and wrap some tinsel around it with some pretty xmas beads. As for ABBA I added a pleat into a pair of trousers so they looked like wide leg pants. Put a jacket on the top and a few longs beads. Can take the play out of your pants when you've been there! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAbba? They'd be good to see in concert. Trying to imagine what type of outfit one would wear....
ReplyDeleteI've been to one Christmas party so far this year. More to come though!
Have a wondrful week!
See flated sequins fishtai lo onto pantsair down sequin skullcap or ponytail bright blue eyeshadow ut old siglet in half see fringe fringe along bottom as quick jacket? You will whip something up I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI loving the dresses I got from you loads comments thanks a bunch.
Good Lord my spell check not working today
DeleteThe Abba outfit will be a fun project. I cant wait to see those photos!
ReplyDeleteFor Abba - straighten your hair and wear it out (like that photo from your birthday ten years ago). Put on bright beads and big earrings and you'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteWhy not get a few of the girls numbers from the group and call them for walks?
ReplyDeleteOMG, what a rip off lunch was!!! And that chicken... holy heck. I'd be pretty annoyed.
ReplyDeleteThat lunch sounds pretty pathetic. It's kind of obvious to me with limitrd catering experience that you privide enough of each item to cater to numbers. So, perhaps not 35 chicken drumsticks but at least 20 to 25, and properly cooked is a no brainer?
ReplyDeleteAnd cetainly enough juice and sandwiches as a starting point!
ReplyDeleteThat does seem rather a small amount of food for an income of $ 525, quite a profit made I would have thought. Hopefully no-one ate that chicken!!
ReplyDeleteBummer about lunch. Yuck and ripoff!
ReplyDeletethe chicken looks dreadful i hope someone complained...the christmas display looks wonderful im suspecting a tart got lots of ideas for stalls to come
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the lunch was a disappointment. Cute decorations. Keep well.
ReplyDeleteWow talk about some raw chicken. That sucks they charged so much and didn't have a nice lunch.
