BIT OF THIS 'N' THAT

BUT REALLY, I have nothing much to yak about today.
I think I'm getting boring.
I am boring myself even.
So.  All I have for today is this:

ABOVE:  I went on Alfriston College's Facebook page, looking for their term dates.  And saw Brylee!  She was in the group being formally welcomed to Alfriston College last Friday.
I doubt she even knew she was in a photo on Facebook.

It's good to see her with a smile on her face, amongst all those other kids, most of whom would be total strangers to her.

You know how schools ring a bell at the start and end of each session/break?  Well Alfriston College plays this:

I think that's rather funny.  *smiles*

ABOVE:  I saw this on Facebook too.  It really made me smile, cos that's kinda what I do now.  I never, in a million years, thought I would one day drool over bloody fabric!  Life sure has it's twists and turns over the years.

OK, so it's a public holiday today.  Waitangi Day, or New Zealand Day, however you like to look at it.
Steve (son) is still working.  Stew is home, and he's taken tomorrow off too ... so he has a 4 day weekend.

We don't have any plans ... plenty to do around here really.   I'm still trying to get the Bird In Tree project finished so I can move back to working on my Dresden Plate Quilt.

Hopefully by the end of the day I can.

ONWARD...

ONE DAY.  He lasted just ONE DAY:

ABOVE:  I hate this time of year.  Teddy's allergies always flare up.  I took the cone off him yesterday in the hope he was OK now.   His skin was no longer bright pink, so I thought he was over it.

NOPE.   This morning there was clear evidence of him gnawing himself on both sides of his rump.
So cross right now.  I hate him being in a cone for months on end.
And he is miserable too.

When this happens year in year out, we think about euthanasia... a lot.

That may sound incredibly harsh, but how would you like to have your hands tied behind your back for months on end?  That's what it's like for Teddy.  He cannot scratch or itch himself in the cone.  And he sulks, and goes nuts trying to itch himself.

It is HORRIBLE.

It's a dull, overcast day again today, and no one feels like doing anything.  I am probably going to sit and read a few blogs, then watch a DVD or two that came with my camera.  I should have done that already.

Hopefully it is easy to follow and I learn some of the advanced functions?

I have been reading blogs for hours.  I hope I caught up with YOU.  If not, let me know!

It is well past lunch time, so I shall go and feed myself I think!

You ever have days where you just want to go somewhere quiet, and eat chocolate in peace?  Me too.

Instead, I ate an ENTIRE packet of biscuits.  I don't need dinner now.  *sigh*

Dinner smells nice. It's Spaghetti Bolognaise.  Stew cooked it.  And I don't want any.
I'm sewing.

I could NEVER kill Teddy.   I just had an awake nightmare about it... and I just couldn't do it.  It was almost too much to bear having Flint put to sleep!  I just can't do that to Teddy.

End of Day:  another so-so day really.  Feeling a bit down, hopefully tomorrow is a nicer day.
nite nite

  2. That is definitely so much cooler (does anyone still use that word ?) than a school bell - I can just imagine the stuffed shirts teachers' faces if we had asked to have that instead of the school bell !!!
    Have the best day !

  4. I think you are being sensible about Teddy, not harsh. Unpleasant realities should be faced, not glossed over. Or sentimentalised. It's all about empathy and quality of life. After all, our pets are 100% dependant on us for everything.

  5. Poor Teddy, it must be heartbreaking to see him so miserable.

  6. I know you've spoken to your vet about Teddy's itchiness, but have you seen a naturopath? I'm sure there must be natural remidies for his poor skin which will help ease his discomfort. Just a thought. I hope he gets relief soon (and so you will too!) xx

  9. My son just started school in junior college. It's for 2 years. He's going thru orientation and so far hasn't seen anyone from his secondary school. School days are really long and tiring. My kids leave home at 6:30 am and comes home in the late afternoon. So I have the whole day to myself which I usually waste away taking naps.
