Than do this:
I spent a bit of time last night sorting out linen, and these BLOODY SHEETS just stared me in the face going 'na na nah nah' at me. Grrrrr. I will conquer it, I will!
So once I get home from Hospice Shop today I am going to sit down and hunt out a video on the 'net to show me how to do it.
As mentioned ( and you should know by now) I've got Hospice Shop duty today.
After that I will pop in and check on Lacy, then come home and relax before I have to make dinner.
I would also like to find the time to do a bit of sewing! YEAH RIGHT. *sigh*... there's just not enough hours in the day... and my batteries run out much quicker at the moment. I just don't have much energy. Let's blame weight.
It's usually the best excuse for all ills... right? (particularly when one is overweight)
In fact I've been feeling DREADFUL lately, my food choices have been atrocious, and I am paying the price. My fault. And only I can do anything about it.
But I'm in that cycle of "I just don't give a fuck"... but really ... I do deep down. I hate myself... I really do. I'm such a classic yo-yo dieter... such a failure.
ONWARD...
ABOVE: TA DAaaa... all me dining room linen etc in the one place. There's a big drawer above which holds all the placemats.
Really busy in the shop today.. it was awesome.
I also found treasure, some of which has already gone over to Lacy's home (a picture and some sheets), and my stuff:
ABOVE: A gorgeous baby blanket, a cute t-shirt and a double valance (which I bought for the fabric).
ABOVE: oh and this to die for wee basket! It's going to sit in a corner in me lounge and just look cute! lol
HONEST TO GOD... I DON'T KNOW WEATHER I FEEL LIKE CRYING OR SCREAMING !!!! I have watched fucking Martha Stewart folding fitted sheets, Jill Cooper, some bloke and several other videos... ALL DIFFERENT methods I might add... AND I STILL CAN'T DO IT.
FUCK FUCKITY FUCK.
My neck hurts. My arms hurt. And I am about ready to attack these friggin sheets with a knife... AND KILL THEM.
EUREKA! ! ! I finally found a video where the demonstrator was facing away from the viewer... and it was so much easier to follow!
There ya have it. I hope it helps someone else too.
You are NOT a failure!!! Each day when you get up you need to choose that on this day you will eat properly. You do this every morning as a choice, you don't worry about tomorrow or the day that - you just choose to eat properly for today. You CAN do this!!! You have so much to look forward to and you need to be as healthy as possible so that you are there for all those gradbabies. Remember TODAY you choose to eat properly!!!! I know you can do this!!! Hugs...
ReplyDeleteThe video showing how to fold these looks easy but is bloody hard. I simply fold in half then half again, fold the edges in and fold like a normal sheet. Mine look the same the my cupboard as a flat sheet.
ReplyDeleteAbout the food, until you choose life over what you eat then nothing will change. It breaks my heart watching you kill yourself with food knowing what I now know about blood sugar.
making poor choices does not a failure make!!!! You know you will do it when you get your head round your eating choices. Wait til Lacey is sorted with the baby and then maybe you will find time for you. Good Luck
ReplyDeleteTake some time today to plan what you are going to eat for the next few days. We have started doing that & we are eating better, more variety & less wastage.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the Hospice shop.
Please don't say those things about yourself... you wouldn't tolerate anyone else taling to you like that, so why do it to yourself??
ReplyDeleteWe all struggle... I don't care wat anyone says!
Ditto and ditto!
ReplyDeleteHere's a thought Chris. Folding those fitted sheets so they sit perfectly in the linen cupboard is a pain. If you don't get the folding thing right why not put a suitable size basket on the shelf then you will have a neat basket to look at when you open the cupboard instead of the roughly rolled bundles.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Yip I do the same as Lynda easy peasy.... Have a good day :)
ReplyDeleteI just roll those fitted sheets up and shove them in the cupboard. They don't mind!
ReplyDeletePlease don't hate yourself Chris. It will never fix anything. You deserve to feel good xx
Good scores from the shop today! Can you make me a couple of those baby sleep suits?? One of my girlfriends is due in December. She doesn't know what she is having, so universal colours would be cool.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the eating. Like you say, it's just how you are feeling at the mo. You know what you have to do, try smaller portions and takeaways on weekends only again. You have done this before, it's not that hard when you are in the zone.
Anyway..... You will be happy to know that I took your advice and met a nice Kiwi guy over here. It's only early stages, but I'll keep you updated. Have a great day.
Love Chris xxx
Chris you are not a failure, but perhaps going to a Diabetic Class would be helpful to you. I've been to 2 of them and they are VERY informative and help you about your Carbs and how to plan meals...etc. Give it some thought....debbie
ReplyDeleteGoogle Martha Stewart folding fitted sheets. Her tutorial is the best.
ReplyDeleteEmily
Bad Chris! Don't make me come over there and spank you! You are NOT a failure because of what you eat. We all have REALLY bad days where we eat what we shouldn't and it is NOT a crime regardless of what anyone says. You already know that it is making you feel down and with low energy so you definately don't need anyone else telling you so!
ReplyDeletethat's almost the same way I fold my sheets!so I'm doing it right!yeeeeeeeeeey!:)
ReplyDeleteLove those baskets!
I will let you in on a secret I fold my fitted sheets on the line I peg each corner out longest way and walk it in whilst other end is pegged still, then release and fold and voila flat sheet OH I only do this when they are washed and on line I don't peg them up special though.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is another day now that Lacy is settled and Steve and Becs are settling in TIME for you ok next on list You and Stew, Brylee AND Griffin.
Ok Hun - some perspective here - they are just bloody sheets. You have wasted precious sewing time working out how to fold a sheet!!!!
ReplyDeleteRoll the damn things up & shove them in a basket at the bottom of the linen cupboard.
Tomorrow is a new day, make sure you spend some time doing something for YOU.
It would be interesting to search YouTube on how to fold sheets. I think it's pretty fun to clean the toilet. Ya got yer special squirter and special brush...
ReplyDeleteAre you ready to flip that switch in your head yet? Time to get motivated!! You can do it!!
