ABOVE: Here is a 'snippet' of the new picture we bought yesterday for the house. Any guesses what it's of? (It measures about 2 metres X 1 Metre) I am so excited about it! I am literally counting the days until I can go and pick it up!
Today: it's Patchwork, where I will continue cutting out the Noah's Ark fabric... I am only doing this quilt in class, so it will take a while I reckon. I haven't decided yet whether I will do the whole quilt or not yet.... I am thinking of MAYBE doing each block as an individual 'piece' and framing it for the baby's wall. Not sure yet.
Well that's about 'it' for now.... got to get kids ready for school....
ONWARD...
It's another wet, miserable day, so I decided to drive the kids to school.... We get in the 'loaner' car and back out the driveway.... and SHIT! There is this awful scraping noise coming from the car... I jump out and look all around the car.. can't see a thing.... so carry on to school... all the while I can hear this horrible noise.
So, I drive that car right back to where I got it from... the Panel Beaters... there's two blokes in the yard... they see me pull in and come right over to the car immediately! I am thinking, yep, the noise is that loud they can hear it too!
Ummm... one of them bends down, reaches under the car and pulls out this:
ABOVE: yeah.... I really felt like a dick! I had been driving with this huge as piece of palm tree stuck under the car! Talk about 'Female Drivers'..... as if I didn't already feel like a twit for backing into my OWN GARAGE DOOR... *sigh*. The guys were really nice about it... they DIDN'T laugh at me... but I'm sure they did once I had driven off again.
So, that was the start of my morning... wonder what else I can get up to?
I was gunna go to Patchwork... but when I got back from the Panel Beaters I was hit with a killer headache and had to lie down for a while. .... and that 'while' lasted for 3 hours!!! I've woken up feeling much better.... but hungry! Serve me right for not having a proper dinner last night! I ate potatoe crips... YES I KNOW... evil.
Off to have something more decent now...
Where does the time go lately? I made 3 cards this afternoon... vacumed the floors, put dinner in the oven.. and bugger me if it's already dark out there! I just don't have enough hours in the day... particularly when I slept the morning away!!!
DERRR....
End of Day: and it's 11.28 pm... I got carried away making 4 baby cards for a girlfriend. I love the different things you can do with them! nite nite.

oh my god ..that happened to me once. I was driving around hearing this horrible noise and it turned out to be the garbage can lid...duh..
ReplyDeleteNot able to think of anything but since you both love it will be perfect. Can't wait to see a photo of the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteToday's Matarangi weather report.
Sun, clear sky, cold wind, occasional showers. We were woken about 5 am by wind that sounded like a flock of aircraft followed by machine gun rain. It sounded really nasty.
Very curious... can't wait to find out what you bought. I am also waiting for the car to come back after my son hit another car in my driveway. Nobody was hurt, but the car had damage.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, the noahs ark quilt is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteIs it for someone in particular.
I am thinking I might get into sewing over summer and buy a sewing machine etc, maybe, I really wish I was more arty.
You really do have an amazing talent.!
Vic
LOL about the car noise..... I am sure they had a good laugh after :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out the picture, but I will be curious to see what it is. Big laugh about the car.
ReplyDeleteI think the picture is a whimsical scene a merry go ground? (although you don't strike me as a merry go round type of person!)...
ReplyDeleteperhaps you could BACK into garage so you can see what you are driving into through or ON!! (they would not have laughed I'm sure WELL maybe a little)
Oh man so embarrassing!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I can't tell what the painting is, either, but knowing you, it must be something to do with the sea, or beach? At first I thought that band going across the bottom was an octopus' arm. :o|
ReplyDeleteAren't cars just a pain in the butt? Don't feel too bad...I think most of us have done something similar at one time or another!
XOXO,
Cyndi
It looks like a giant picture of a vanilla slice - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteHugs
Kim
You obviously needed the rest.
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by the picture you bought, everytime I see the snippet it reminds me of a cake.
Can't wait to see the whole thing.
Must have been the day for being a dick huh! Glad I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris,
ReplyDeleteLoved your story about the car. You might enjoy this one on behalf of my mother, a kindergarten teacher (to clarify she is 61 and still has the energy and patience for it - a miracle). Anyway, she spent a few days driving around worrying about the rattling sound in her car and was just thinking she should go to the mechanic when she opened the boot and found a toy wooden truck that someone gave her for work running aroung in the boot. She was very relieved she didn't go to mechainc very worried about the noise!
Hope you get the picture soon!
Penny
Now I just HAVE to know what the picture looks like! So intriguing!!
