Today: well the house is back to just me... and the DOGS... funny saying 'dogs'... *smiles*. I should be going to patchwork class... and I might yet... but if I do I shall take Coco with me in the travelling case.... she's too little to stay home on her own ... surely? LOL.... yes I'm a big softie!
So I did take Coco out with me this morning... BUT... I put her in her crate first.. then told Teddy to go to bed (as per usual) and once he was in the laundry with the door closed (as per usual), I then put the puppy in the car. Teddy did not see me do that, he had no idea the puppy was out with me.. and when we came home I put puppy back in the crate before letting Teddy out of the laundry. So I think that was sorted.
The ladies at Patchwork thought Coco was just adorable.. I was lucky to get out of there and still have a puppy! lol
Now.. .I have to get card making! I've got a wee order from a lovely lady in Whitianga who wants 4 for various reasons... what fun!
ONWARD...
Since coming home from our outing this morning I have ascertained that:
- Coco can howl and yowl VERY loudly
- Coco can howl and yowl for A VERY LONG TIME
- Chris Needs EARPLUGS very badly
- Teddy is very good at ignoring said NOISE better than me.
*sigh*
Slinking back to the garage, where at least Teddy and I can shut the door on her noise!
End of Day: Puppy is in her crate... it's 10.30 and she's started howling... of yaaaaa. nite nite.
So cute, and poor Teddy. He will come around, but I bet he won't be happy when Coco gets to go with you and he has to stay home.
ReplyDeleteWow! Teddy has packed a rite snot... I better give him all me loves when I come up next :-)
ReplyDeleteCoco is so gorgeous and cute and Teddy I am sure he will accept her eventually! Oh, I would love a little doggy I really would. I loved the little video of the two of them XXCathy
ReplyDeleteYou need to make a big fuss over Teddy so he feels like he is still loved. More videos, please.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous. I'm getting all clucky.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a cockerpoo, Cocker Spaniel and poodle cross because I believe they do not trigger allergies but haven't had any luck finding a NZ breeder. If anyone knows of one I'd be interested. TWJ has serious sinus problems and dog hair just makes it so much more uncomfortable.
Welcome Coco! Chris if Coco is in the crate, Teddy will be able to check her out and gradually get used to her. Try to make Teddy the centre of attention, just like he's used to! You are going to be busy, busy, busy with a new baby in the house!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't leave her alone just yet. She has come from having a lot of dogs around her that love her to one dog that hates her. If you take Coco with you Teddy will feel the hate even more.
ReplyDeleteI was going to type out a whole thing about how we got our dog to accept the new one but this sums it up well...

Good luck!
Poor Teddy, he has been king pin for ages, makes sure he gets lots of cuddles.....They will love each other soon enough
ReplyDeleteHow can a puppy so small howl so loudly!?? Aww..
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to me except it was with my kids. First I had my boy. Had all our attention. 2 years later I had my girl and the boy went nuts. Went all growling, sulky. My girl's like Coco too. Sure could howl all day long.
ReplyDeleteThat video is sooo cute! I hope they get along soon. It will be fun to see them play together. Good luck and have fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the look on Griffin's face in that photo - a 'what are we gonna do with you dog' look! Did you get something with Coco's mothers scent on it? That might make her howl less if she had a familiar smell around.
ReplyDeleteIt's been Teddy's house for a long time, so he will take some time to accept another. Give them time, let them interact a bit at a time and get to know each other. They will be fine eventual. Lots of love and patience.
ReplyDeleteshe is beautiful, though, isn't she?
Coco is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuck it up Teddy! - Momma has enough love for both of you.
;)
lol...teddy will get over it:)
ReplyDeleteShe's too cute.....hmm the howling would drive me nuts too!
lol pooooor Teddy! He's got oldest child syndrome lol
ReplyDeleteOh dear a howling puppy PERHAPS she may be the sleep on the bed puppy? I hope you get some sleep tonight.
ReplyDeleteBoy that puppy had its tail a-waggin' there and you can surely tell Teddy is not happy about it.
ReplyDeleteWhen we first brought our puppy home, it would howl at night until we put the cage it our room. NOT FUN.
Oh you have exciting times ahead ... lol ... we got Tara about 2 years after Jessie and I still don't think Jessie has forgiven us! They have a love/hate relationship now but mostly it's all playful banter! Hope Coco and Teddy get along just as well.
ReplyDeleteHow come you don't put Coco in her crate in the room with Teddy? I bet she wouldn't howl...she is lonely. She is just darling! Poor Teddy! has his little nose out of joint. But they will be great friends in no time I bet! Don't keep them apart! ...debbie
ReplyDeleteThat little video and Coco's tail wagging 90 miles an hour is PRECIOUS!
ReplyDeleteCoco is such an adorable little thing! I am sure that Teddy will adjust with time. He has to have a good little temper tantrum and then will settle down and learn to love his sister!
ReplyDeleteI knew that was going to happen. He will get used to her. When our cat came to live with us Abby was so naughty and now they play together all the time.
ReplyDeleteGive them time and they will be the best of friends. Congrats on the new family member. I guess you will be extra busy. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor little spoiled Teddy! I'm sure they will be best friends before too long, but it will be quite a transition!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new family member!
Your dog reminds me of our little one. When the toddler sees mommy holding one of the other kids, he gets a little upset sometimes.
