MID WEEK, HUMP DAY.

And today is going to be a bit slower than yesterday.  Probably a good thing.

I was sent the Profile Photo of Stew and I, taken for our Village Profiles on Sunday.   I think it came out lovely.  So very happy it included Coco.

ABOVE: So very typical of Coco, camera shy.

Moving on... I did this the other day:

ABOVE:  I put up the temporary metal mesh fencing. Now I can have the dining room ranch slider open, (on a nice day), and not have to worry about Coco escaping.

I think it's a good solution, as opposed to installing a sliding screen door.

ABOVE: And that is where our Pig Weather Vane is going.  It won't get wind from every direction, but at least it will be up.  And not in anyone's 'face'.

The things we didn't quite grasp about Village Life. 😤😡😠  Rapidly learning.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.  Sometimes it can take a long time to see Karma bite ... but it does happen eventually.

I might have mentioned this already, but vacuuming the carpet in this new house has been a nightmare.  The fluff and bits 'n' bobs just stick to the damn carpet.  So late yesterday I went out and bought a whizz bang 'super charged' spinning brush head for the vacuum.

And it works.  Just as well, as it was damn expensive.  Now I'm not having to stop, take the head off, and suck up shit with the hose end. Winning.

Pretty much the only 'job' on my list today is to empty the bathroom vanity and cabinet, in readiness for tomorrow's strip out.

We will be using the pool showers until our new bathroom is up and running. A bit inconvenient, but at least we have that option.

This afternoon I am attending my first 'Resident's Meeting' here.  I have been advised to attend by a few people.  I hope it goes well.

😖 I will not be publishing any more comments re:  Karma bla bla bla.  Or the shed issue, until a happy resolution is reached.

Lacy called in this morning, she helped me with a couple of jobs that involved a ladder up into the attic.  Not something I  like to do... I'm not too good on ladders!

I am about to head out and get our sofa bed paid for, then have it delivered. It arrived into Hamilton yesterday.  Whoop whoop, another big TICK.  I can't even remember what colour we ordered!

Right, that little job is done.  The sofa bed is arriving tomorrow sometime.  I've just got to get the two La-Z-Boy chairs out of the spare bedroom, so the sofa bed can go in there.

I've made a space in the garage for the chairs, so all good there.

I might just finish getting everything out of the bathroom now.

3.25 pm:  Just in from the Residents Meeting.  It was nice to meet more of the people living here.  Everyone was lovely.  I sat with a nice group of ladies afterwards and had some nice conversations.

I learnt that there's a bus 'trip' up to the hospital in a couple of weeks, to show residents how to get there using public transport.  So you don't have to take your car, and get all bent and twisted trying to find a carpark.  Just take the bus.  I for one am doing that trip when it comes up.

I took two hot pods in a bag with me, so thankful, otherwise I would have been cold.  I'm really hating the cold this winter.

Now that I'm home, I will just take a bit of time to relax.  I think tomorrow is going to be a bit busy again.

9.52 pm:  I've had an awesome, quiet afternoon and evening.  It's so good being lazy for a change!

Catch ya tomorrow.

I think your community picture is lovely.

And that’s a good place for your weather vane, tucked in is actually quite nice.

I hope the meeting is pleasant. (Sheds, garbage bins, where people park, age/condition of vehicles, holiday decorations, music/noise, smoke from fire pits, hoses/sprinklers/water, cats/dogs, fences, paint colors, lawn decorations, and security are all big topics.)

I was trying to think of a topic that hasn't been discussed at our monthly meetings apart from lighting at night (shines in people's windows because it is too bright or not bright enough to walk home outside) which you haven't mentioned. "You can't please all of the people all of the time" but sometimes you can't please any of the people.any of the time. Audrey

    2. I am hoping WE, or rather, our shed, is not a topic today.

We (neighborhood, not us personally) are having a HUGE issue with a neighbor who had permanent lights installed in her eaves, all the way around the house. They are electronic, they can change colors and blink or be solid white. Her neighbors on both sides and in front and in back of her are struggling mightily with bedroom windows. It is like living on the strip in Las Vegas. (She did not have permission. She is not cooperating.)

Not sure it’s a good idea to talk about karma on a public blog where residents might get wind of it….just sayin’. Marie, Melbourne

    1. Seeing as it's something I'd say to their face, I'm not worried.

Not shed people I’m talking about. It’s others who may form an impression

    3. Well then, they will know that I'm a straight up, honest how I feel, tell it like it is person. I'm not changing for anyone.

    4. I have 'amended' my post a little, to be more 'diplomatic', but only just.

As Vickie says, it’s like a 12 year olds schoolyard. You haven’t been to one class yet and you’re trying to get revenge. I, as some of your readers, have friends in villages, intervention orders even, ostracised, I would be looking on the more positive side of why you moved. (I have no intention of moving in to one, I’m happy being happy)

Nobody is asking you to change but just be a little careful what you say in the village after all this affects Stew as well. You will be seen as a couple rather than individuals with separate opinions. Audrey

    7. REVENGE is a very loaded word. I'm not looking for REVENGE at all. Just hoping that the nastiness catches up with them one day. I was accused of many things over this issue, and I went and apologised in person to them, only to have accusations hurled at me. This situation was NOT OUR FAULT. As for looking for the positives, we certainly are. There's heaps of positives to our move and we will take advantage of Village living, as it is what we chose to do. Each to their own.

    8. Audrey: Stew feels as strongly as me over this issue.

I'm sure he does but most men (including my husband) like a quiet life so tend to say "let it go". On the whole we are happy in our village and it is only a few disgruntled people who cause problems if you let them. Just carry on doing what you are doing and try not to get too upset because it will only spoil your new lifestyle. Audrey

  3. And once again mate
“You do you”, should aforementioned shed issue be raised stand up say loudly just to stop any further innuendo misinformation and draw the line and calmly state what happened how it was resolved, then re raised then resolved, point out your inconveniences the positives too moving and end on He aha! ( and what/ whatever/ ) it will show others you stand your ground truth and you won’t tolerate more assumptions or Chinese whispers, speak to the horses
    Mouth before the arse!

I always laugh when I hear someone saying they are telling it as it is...as they are only telling it how it is for them and not everyone else...It is good you enjoyed the meeting and hopefully as you said you can move on and enjoy the advantages of living in the village...with your updated bathroom and kitchen you will be feeling happier again soon...moving house is a huge stress and I think you have done well to cope with everything....Peta
