Stew is home today, he's going to do all the little jobs on the exterior of the house that I couldn't do.
We shall go to Bunnings first thing to get supplies, then come home and get it done.
I'm hoping we get everything done today, and I can't see why we wouldn't.
It's good that the inside of the house passed all the building inspectors checks. And so it should, we have spent a lot of money bringing the inside of this home up to scratch!
ABOVE: I've still got a lot of sorting to do on my puzzle. When I get physically tired today, I'll take a break and come inside and do some more on it.11 am, and a couple of the smaller jobs are done. Just a couple more to go.
Mike and Joyce are on their way up from Palmerston North... they should be here after lunch sometime. Looking forward to seeing them.
1.51 pm: And all it ticking along nicely. We stopped for some lunch, then Stew went back outside to clean the guttering along the very back of the house.
ABOVE: Rather typically, the sun is beaming down now, and Stew is getting bloody hot as hell.
But it has to be done, so he is ploughing on.
I meantime, have not been doing much at all. I just don't have the energy.
All I feel like doing is sleeping. It's been full on for so long, it really has caught up with me.
It looks like one part of the job will be put off until Sunday, when Steve can do it for us. He's more savvy about where to stand, and where NOT to stand, on the roof. Just a minor job really, but one Stew doesn't feel comfortable doing. Yeah, in case he crashes through the freakin' roof! 😂😖😉 That would be a disaster for sure.
ABOVE: Well the kids arrived and got to open their Christmas presents!
Joyce loved her Towlie. lol
That's the one I found at the Keltic Fair and thought it was for me. Ha ha ha! I am only too happy to gift it to Joyce, cos she loved it.
Thanks kids.
They have now gone off to Chartwell Square to do some shopping, like they virtually always do when they come up here.
Stew is about to jump in the shower and clean off all the sweat and paint.
It is a super hot, sticky day.
Mike did arrive with short hair, no rats tail or bushy beard!
He has moved into 'Management' within the company he works for, and his 'VIKING LOOK' was not appropriate anymore!
He does indeed look like he's not aged at all in the past 15 years! Lucky little bugger. Joyce is the same, still looks like a teenager.
7.45 pm, and it's the end of the day as far as I'm concerned. I've had a lovely tepid shower, washed me hair and am in me PJ's. Time to do nothing till bedtime.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Just remember to have breaks both of you! Kj
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day ahead and bonus sharing it with Stew.
ReplyDeleteWow, be awesome to see them. Kj
ReplyDeleteYep don't get on the roof Stew!
ReplyDeleteWise idea Stew, a great gapping hole in the roof might put off prospective buyers unless they think a hunky roof ornament is just what they need, not good for you though Chris.
ReplyDeleteMike never changes. Still looks the same young man of 10 years ago. I wish! Enjoy your time together. Kj
ReplyDeleteDid Mike arrive all clean shaven and freshly groomed? No annual trip to the barber? He does look EXACTLY the same!
ReplyDeleteI’m not surprised you are exhausted Chris. Physically and mentally! So much angst selling your lovely home. Hopefully you will be rested so you can enjoy what I’m assuming will be a lovely family celebration of Griffin’s marriage. Hope it’s a wonderful day for you all.
