ABOVE: Yep, a full year after learning we had to move... we are!
This morning we have to pick up the dogs and all the 'last minute' stuff at the house, then meet with our Real Estate Agent (Auckland one) and hand over the keys to this home.
Then jump (OK.. I won't be jumping!), get in our cars and take off for our NEW HOME.
A new chapter in our lives. Hopefully our LAST move till we are old and doddery.
I will try to do an update from my phone during the day... CAN anyone be more EXCITED than me??? (well, apart from Stew and the kids) *smiles*
ONWARD...
1 pm. Standing outside our new house.
Cant go in cos the legal settlement process hasnt gone through yet.
Trucks are not here yet.
It pissing down with heavy drizzle.
My car has suddenly decided to have a flat battery... so the AA have just arrived to give it a charge up.
WHY today of all days!!!
Make that TORRENTIAL RAIN NOW...DAMMIT.
Yaaa... we got the keys at 2.30... and now the guys are unloading.
Its a BIG JOB!
Cant connect to the internet... so I will have to use my phone for the next few days.
We are having our first meal in our new home. Chicken 'n' cheese on buns.
It's utter chaos in the house right now... so we are going to take it slow and steady.
Tomorrow the guys bring back everything from storage in Hamilton.
Then we will be even busier.
We fell into bed exhausted last night, I even forgot to sign off here.
Oh well... I'm sure ya all understand. *smiles*
Drive carefully and I can't wait to see photos. Can't wait to come to visit too!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move. We just moved into our current new (older) home and still trying to get settled and caught up with the neglect from no one living here for 3 years. I've already said this is the last time we move. I hope all goes well for you and it's all you are dreaming of. Ranee (MN) USA
ReplyDeleteWishing you lots of love and new memories in your new home! I can't wait to see pics and blogs of your family in your new place! God Bless!

ReplyDeleteAhhhhh Man?????????????????
ReplyDeleteFantastic, all the best as you settle in to your new home. You and Stew deserve a special night out soon, after the year you've had with life stresses. Cheers Glenys
ReplyDeleteOh good grief! I certainly hope things shape up in a hurry and you can do a quick post before I am off to bed. I hate going to bed "in the middle of the day" when you have such events going on! I wish you well. Hoping for a happy update soon!
ReplyDeleteDeep breaths, the rain will bugger off soon, the solicitor will get back from lunch and sign, email, carrier pigeon the paperwork and you are at your new place so do not need your car at the moment anyway :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yay! An update BEFORE bed. If you have keys and guys are unloading.... You are all set! Where do you sleep tonight? the house or the motel. I am soooo excited for you! Have a great rest of your day. AND btw - rest your back! Can't wait for the updates on setting up a brand new home for all of you!
ReplyDeletewahooo so pleased for you all
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and I'll say it again ... take care of your back. Can you tell I work for a chiropractor 😊
ReplyDeleteAs long as everything is unloaded and in the right room it is not a problem. Get one of the kids to make up the beds as soon as they appear in a room so you have that done when you crash tonight, nothing worse than having to make the damn bed at the last minute.
ReplyDelete❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🍰
ReplyDeleteI hope you are all very happy in your new home. Take your time getting things unpacked, you are in the house and thats what matters. I always made sure beds were made so at least we could get a decent nights sleep, regardless of the mess. You will get it sorted, just do not try and do too much. I know its a temptation, but you need your back to recover so you can enjoy your new home.
ReplyDeleteYay you are finally there!!!!
ReplyDeleteFinally!! Now comes the fun bit.... unpacking all your goodies and making your new home - "home"- and putting all your beautiful things in it. Happy for you! x
ReplyDeleteHugs hugs hugs hugs
ReplyDeleteGood luck settling in to your new home. Enjoy.
