ABOVE: these are the materials I bought yesterday... the 10 'fat quarters' will be added to until I have about 24 different materials to make a bright, vibrant quilt. The two fish materials.. well I just like them... they are FISH! I love fish. And cows. And SHOPPING. lol
I want to get some new palms for my section, so I mucked around with a photo on 'Paint' to see how they might look:
I think they would look pretty.. and on the left hand side they would block the view of the neighbours behind us... When I finally get my new palms they will probably take 10 years to get this big! OH WELL...have to start somewhere.
Today: I need to pop down to Papakura to finally pick up the material for my 'Star Quilt'.. ... Not sure what else is on me agenda.... probably bloody housework.
ABOVE: last night's sky... should have known we were in for rain eh?
I wake up every morning (luckily).. roll over.... reach down and grab... my 2nd Laptop! The trouble is... it's kinda dying! The only thing holding the screen to the base is now the cord.... hmmmmm.... I wonder if a new one is in the budget? Maybe not just yet! Shame....
I did my bit of shopping... got lots MORE materials... and now... friggin housework I suppose. Stew was a good man yesterday and washed ALL the windows (inside and out) and folded the washing... so I should really DO SOMETHING.
OK... before any of you MAD BUGGERS start sending me cows... I LOVE REAL COWS.... not figurines, models, etc etc! I love real ones... one day I want a few of my own. They are beautiful.
End of Day: Went to Weight Watchers tonight... was OK.. a small loss of .500 grms. Better than a gain I suppose. nite nite.
hehe - I have a cow collection, of little ceramic cows and stuffed toy cows......but since I will no longer be working in the "cow"industry I might need to find them all a good home.
ReplyDeletePalms look very cute :-). Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteGosh I'm glad they're not real! That said, real ones will be perfect but won't they grow very tall?
ReplyDeleteLove the fishies, can't wait to see the finished fish quilt, so skip the housework and get sewing dearie.
Cheers
Ooooh, I love the fish! Can't wait to see what you do with all that fabric!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is turning into a quiliting one:-) You really do have an eye for colour.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the material makes me want to start sewing!!! lol!
ReplyDeleteThose are really pretty materials. The fat quarters should make a really, gorgeous quilt, once you have them all together..
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen those 'Cow Parade' figurines ? I've been lusting after a few ... plus also some from the 'The Trail Of Painted Ponies' collection ...
Dragons are another of my weaknesses...
Palms look nice, btw :-)
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with collecting cows! lol. I have a froggy bathroom, I should put a few photos up shouldn't I?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the new material. Man, won't that make up into a striking quilt. And so what if you are one of those old ladies with a house full of quilts gathering dust - something for the kids to inherit! lol. Or, give them as Chrissy gifts. I have one of only two I ever made which still gets used in the van. It's my daughters so will probably go with her in the unlikely event she ever leaves home.
Can't wait to see your next effort....
Have you ever seen a cow poop and pee? Not pretty. And their food? It smells.
ReplyDeleteI think the palm trees would look nice!
Fabrics are gorgeous Chris. Do love the fishy ones. Can't wait to have a look around the merchants at symposium. But I don't think my spending money is going to go as far as I'd like it too. Stew... you struck lotto when you met him didn't ya... cleaning windows... which reminds me I need to clean the car tonight! grrr.
ReplyDeleteHehehe I love cows too. I grew up on a dairy farm. I've got a collection of cow stuff people have given me! So not necessary! Especially the ones that go moo!
ReplyDeleteYou chose some lovely material! What a good husband you have!!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind cows either! I am a farmers daughter after all ;) I have taken a fair few photos of them - mainly in round ups so they are group photos. If you ever need a fix of cows let me know I can e-mail you some of them ;) lol
I love the fish ones. Awesome colours.
ReplyDeleteI love the palms. Palms and your house just go together.
crikies how come your husband washes windows and folds washing...I want one of him!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs Khris in Oz
lol, watch out or some crazy tart will send you a real cow, imagine waking up to find Daisy in ya veggie patch!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm surprise yuo didn't paste a couple of male strippers in your driveway.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy the way you write your posts....and do the different colors for the different parts of your day....you are a very busy woman and I am totally impressed with you...YOU AND YOUR DIET COKE BOTH ROCK!
ReplyDeletewow love the fabrics and yep stew is a keeper man washes windows is a gem lol
ReplyDeletewell the manure from the cows will be good for the palms lmao
You'd like it here then - palms grow like weeds! Most people have too many in their yard, and they look messy and just too much!! Planted formally, like you plan, is much nicer I think. Whenever I've done WW, most recipes which needed specific quanitites, always turned out disgusting. With anything baked, I prefer to use Annette Sym's recipes, and with cooking I like the recipe ideas, but I make the quanitites my own, the food's always too dry and bland for my taste.
ReplyDeleteHalf a kilo is perfect! I'd be v. happy with that! xx
ReplyDeleteYou sound a bit down about the 500g loss - think of it this way if you lose 500g every week - then this time next year you would be 26kgs lighter!!! Well done you! Z xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a great picture of the sky. It is worth the rain for that kind of view.
ReplyDeleteThe new material is cool. I wish I had a "Stew" to come wash my windows.
I've been thinking of you when I drive by the farms in VT with all the pretty cows ;)
I LOVE that fabric in the top right.
ReplyDeletePoor laptop, at least it still works!
I love cows. Bulls are the coolest :)
I think the palms will look fabulous but you are right - it will take forever for them to be that big unless you spend the big bucks and buy them big already!
ReplyDeleteLoving the palm trees. You have so many cute quilt patterns on the go. Yes cows are cute too! Have a fun day.
ReplyDeleteI love REAL cows too.
ReplyDeleteI could so be a dairy farmer
Is that your house? So pretty!
