GO AWAY, IT'S JUST THE SAME SHIT, DIFFERENT DAY HERE!

 WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

Seriously.

It's gunna be a case of 'SAME SHIT, DIFFERENT DAY' today.

I'm going to Coffee & Chat at 10, then I'm coming home and friggin well sewing!

ABOVE:  Today's runner is already on the table, ready for stitching.  I got a couple of rows done late yesterday.

I'm 100% sure now that sewing is aggravating my shoulders... but no way in hell will I ever stop sewing.  You'd have to chop off me arms for that to happen.  Maybe in 15 years time I will stop ... time will tell of course.

There's little old ladies here in the village, who are aged over 90, and they are still doing crafts, sewing, knitting and so on.  They are so inspirational.

I wanna be like that one day.

So, how about YOU tell me what you are doing today?  Anything exciting?  Going anywhere?  Shopping?  Throttling anyone?  (that would be fun).  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…  Just boring old work?  Where do ya work?  What do YOU do to keep busy?

Where do you live??? I know there's quite a few readers overseas.  Fill me in.

ONWARD...
Stew kindly reminded me this morning that my cars WOF was due to expire.  So I took my car to the VTNZ place in Pukete at 9 am
.

ABOVE: I was fully expecting a big queue, but NO!  I was the only one there.  My car passed it's WOF, which was a relief.

It's like going to the dentist, trepidation of a big bill.  Very thankful my wee car passed.

Once that was done, I came back to the village to attend Coffee & Chat.  That was good, some nice topics of conversation.  By 11 am I was home again, and I had an early lunch.

Warmed myself up a bit, and now?  Might head into C.Q's to work on that runner.

Thank You for your comments (so far)... it is nice hearing from you all.

MICHELLE in PALMY:  Sorry to hear that chick, I hope things work out.  It would be lovely to see you.

ABOVE: After lunch I took some time to clean up my email inbox/junk box etc.  That took some time!  In the end I deleted 1,686 emails sent to me!  They were for the months of March/April and May.  Far too many to keep.  I TRY to do a clean up at the end of every month, but I always forget.  Grrrr.

After that, I folded up the washing and did a couple of other small jobs around the house.

I did not get to my sewing, and I doubt I will today.  Stew is due home soon, and I shall take him to the pub.

Maybe I'll come home and sew for an hour, before visiting the kids?  Ya never know, I might feel motivated by then.

8 pm, and Yaaaa!  I did stay home until I finished the runner of the day.  I will show it to you tomorrow.

After that I visited the kids, then joined Stew at the pub. NO chips tonight, I wasn't hungry at all.

I did have a glass of bubbles though, which is becoming a regular thing.  One glass of wine ain't gunna hurt me eh?

We are home now, and looking forward to doing bugger all, then watching Coronation Street before bedtime.

Catch ya tomorrow.

  1. Darn, your posts have stopped appearing on my blog list. I missed a day.
What am I doing? Making moussaka and brownies for my youngest granddaughter who is writing Uni exams. It's getting hotter here. Cooking isn't something I'll be doing willingly in a few weeks.
Greetings from my little Greek isle.

I live on the Mornington Peninsula in a Victoria Aus. It’s wild and windy here today. 'm currently on long service leave. Go back to work (district nurse) at the end of the month, then gong to retire by August. Yay!! 41 years as a DN I'm done! Today I'm going to sew. I like to make bags, and I'm making my son’s partner a bum bag today. She loves pink and animal prints, so I found a pink leopard skin print on line, and its just arrived, so I'm dong it with pink denim.
For your shoulder issues- You’ve probably done this, but have you tried raising your chair? Or even the machine? That sometimes helps. Take breaks- it’s so easy just to keep going when you get on a roll😊
My mum has a bad shoulder and I recently ordered her this, which gives some relief.

    I played Pickleball this morning.
We needed a clay delivery. We ordered an entire palette of clay to be delivered via semi-truck. That means 2400 pounds. More than a TON. We have had our clay delivered via semi for 20 years. Then some bad driver had a difficulty delivering to our end of the gravel road address and BLACKLISTED us. So - we have been getting the clay delivered to a "park and ride" (rural parking lot) a few miles away. Then I would stay with the clay while hubby drives home 4 times with 600 pounds per trip. Well... We told them NOT to deliver on Wednesday. We had just returned from Pickleball, made lunch, were expecting the clay TOMORROW.... All of a sudden there is a semi-truck outside! This guy went to the park and ride, we were not there, so he googled us, and brought it to our home! He was shocked that we were black listed. Not blacklisted anymore! I am so happy we were home and that went smoothly!

You already know what I do.... I make ceramic worry stones. And about twice a year for the past three years - I have been working on feature films that are shooting in our area.

    Throttling anyone? No.

Friday , I will be going to the Twin Cities for a friends birthday.

I am sure you know of the musician "PRINCE" ( Purple Rain, When doves cry, 1999, Little Red Corvette, Let's go crazy, Raspberry Beret) ... etc) ? He's from my state Minnesota and is still quite an icon even though he died 10 years ago. This weekend there are a bunch of PRINCE activities in the cities. Including musical performances by his old band members and even Morris Day of "The Time" (Jungle Love)... (Prince's nemesis in the movie "Purple Rain")

Anyhoooo - we will probably go see the Prince acquainted bands that are playing for the 10 year anniversary of his passing.

Random tidbit: There is a lyric in one of Prince's MOST famous songs "Let's Go Crazy" that says :

"And if the elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy, punch a higher floor."

Prince died in an elevator 10 years ago.

  9. How neat that your clay can be delivered to your doorstep again. I used to order clay by the Ton at well, it was hell moving it into the studio/garage, as you must know. How poetic that Prince died in an elevator! Maybe he forgot to punch a higher floor.

Home and showered. Bed made, washing on, read your blog.
Later out for afternoon tea with a water walker.

  11. I live in Melbourne, and I just had nail avulsion surgery done on my big toe. Six injections later... but he only charged me $100 (normally it costs $450). I'm supposed to be off work for the rest of the day, but I am editing a student's Master's thesis, and I said I would return it to her tomorrow, so I am sitting at my desk with my foot up. Apparently no housework for me for the next day or so, so that's good news!

Indiana, Wednesday/yesterday, I was stopping by quilt shops looking for fabric to make whimsical lady bugs. I was looking for blue w/ black dots, yellow w/ black, purple w/ black, red w/ black, etc.

In the last two days I checked every store within 1.5 hours of me and found almost nothing. If I had been looking for white dots, there was tons.

And I sewed the rows together for a queen size quilt top. I did half in the morning and half in the evening.

Pressing it this morning (Thursday) and then taking it to one of my long armers.

  17. S.W Ontario, Canada. Sunny and forecast to be quite warm with some humidity this afternoon. The water is going to be shut off for four hours this morning in the complex I live in. Loo door will be shut tight for awhile. lol Sewing this afternoon as I am putting the binding on a quilt. I can't show it on my blog as it is a surprise gift. When gifted I will. This evening I am going to the theatre, with my ex. (I know, I have heard all of the what are you thinking comments from family and friends, but, we get along better apart than when we were together. A few hours every few weeks is OK)

I am just getting a chance to see this post from yesterday; I was swamped at work yesterday and then had stepson & DIL for dinner with my partner (Kent) at home and then collapsed for the evening. I am older than I want to be, lol - actually hit retirement age in May of 2024; however, I am SO not ready to stop working! I work in a Mall Management Office within a Mall here in Albany, GA - a mall that has been in this town for 40 this year) I have been the office manager for this Mall (and prior to 2020, we also managed 12 Strip Shopping Centers in 3 states along with this mall and another mall - then those properties all went to another Mall Manager as our ownership was preparing to 'let out mall go back to the bank' on purpose in 2021, which the mall was foreclosed on in Nov 2021 and myself & mall manager were retained by new management company hired by Bank on day of Foreclosure). I have been here almost 19 years, my mall manager for 38 years. I have lived in many places; born in Ohio, lived in New Hampshire during teen years (my father worked for newspapers, as pressman and took job at Boston, Mass. paper), back to Ohio, lived in Hawaii in my 20s for five years, came back & moved to Albany for 4 years, I moved to Florida for 12 1/2 years and then moved back to Albany, GA . My background Finance and I was Chief Financial Officer for a number of Non Profit organizations, mostly that served children/youth, and 7 years at non profit in Albany, GA that served abused/neglected children. I was also Grant Writer (still do on the side for various non profit groups) and 1st time in Albany, GA I taught US Marines Budget Counseling for the Navy Relief Society. My only child, my son Mike aged 44 years old, suddenly passed away on 10/17/2024 after swift moving illness within 15 days of becoming ill and it was heartbreaking. Still coming to terms Mike is gone... I have one younger sister in Tennessee, USA (I am eldest sibling), a 'baby brother' who estranged himself from family after my Mother's passing of stomach cancer (84 yrs old) in 2019; Dad passed in 2018 from stroke complications (90 yrs old). My life has been a roller coaster but a journey I am glad I have taken, even with many losses through the years, I have been blessed. Looking forward to trip to Tennessee in July to finally visit my sister & family; a trip originally planned for November 2024 with my son, where we planned on having a terrific time with my sister sightseeing (who was double amputee and severe diabetic with other health issues, and who lived independently always in apartments but always within a few miles of my townhome, his choice to stay near - I was his 'part time' care giver - grocery shopping, taking him to laundromat, etc. etc. and he was my shopping buddy and thrift store junkie buddy and traveling buddy too). My sis has been there for just over 6 years and each time we tried to go for trip my son got ill, or had surgery, or other medical issue and each time trip got postponed. So I have finally stirred up enough oomph to make this trip without my Mike along for the ride. Anyhoo... that is my story..... Dawn P. Albany, GA USA
